- So many of you really resonated with my first video discussing elitism & gatekeeping in the guitar community.
I know it's not just guitars, it can and is found everywhere.
And while the obvious answer is, 'don't listen to other people', it is challenging when researching.
I sincerely hope everyone in the market for a new instrument, or simply playing the instrument you currently have, sticks to what I think matters most, playing & enjoying.
Everything else is subjective and comes down to each individual.

I have a strat that is way too nice for how well I can play lol, it's sometimes nice to have nice things... but you can make one of those squier affinity strats play just about as good out of the box if you give it enough tlc. Sometimes those squiers are more fun because you can mod it to exactly what you want.
1,000%! I am waiting on my Mexican Strat to arrive from the East Coast, and I plan on modding some stuff to make it play a little more the way I want. The best part about all of this? Nothing is ever etched in stone - you can always find what best suits you!
Hey Dude_ I've gotten the same BS frm a few pals that Love their Epiphones & i Love their Epiphones but ive worked Hard to afford purchasing a Gtr annually since 1987, 10 of them (so far) are Gibsons & my Epi pals Always make Disparaging comments about me jst Wasting my $ cos "you know Epiphone is Jst as Good as Gibson , Same thing in fact"_ but ive had to return the 6 Epiphones I bought thru the yrs cos of Major issues_ + a cpl of Gibsons with problems_ but still I would Never insult someone else's Gtr that they Love_ so what makes it ok for them to put my Beloved Gtrs dwn_ I jst Dont get it_!!
Absolutely!!! Insulting is never cool. I know it's not just the guitar community, it's everywhere. People should be celebrating what they love, and nurturing that in others. That's what breeds growth!

Why should you or anyone have to explain themselves to justify what kinda Gtr they Love_?? Jazzmasters are their Own thing_ Nothing else plays or sounds like them_ they stand apart frm other Gtrs_ kinda the same with Gibson Firebirds_ in their very own league_ & Dont get me started on Vs_ people either Love them or Hate them_!!
I have pair of Carvin Ultra-Vs I had custom blt in 1991 & gigged them both hard for many yrs_ & Vs are probably The Most polarizing Gtrs_ Alot of guys at shows would come check them out & say ' yeah I'm more into Les Pauls' & I'd say "Yeah, Me too"_ but about a Dzn times as someone was strapping on 1 of my Vs to try out , they let it slip that " I've Never really liked Vs"_ & their 'test drive' was Over _ I would take my Gtr frm them & say " Ya Dont tell I that I Dont like Your Girlfriend but I'll F-ck Her"_!! 😂
