With the Novation Impulse you get per channel aftertouch, which for dance styles, film & trailer work, orchestral, and in general, is impossible to overrate, since you can add expression with the fingers of your hands without taking them off (which is needed to use the mod wheel). So with this keyboard if you DO use the modwheel you can simultaneously control 2 parameters, and interact with how they sound during your performance. Imagine that Mod wheel and aftertouch are set up so one controls filter cutoff and the other controls resonance, that's just one example but hopefully that makes it clear. On the used market other 61 key keyboards with aftertouch go for a bit more, and retail they usually go for much, much more.
Nice review. How to save sound? For example i am playing on the spot with bandmate, and i want to jump into another sound. How can i save and set it for shift?
Thanks for this video. I use the Impulse 49 in combination with the Ketron SD40. The operation of the sd40 (sliding) on the Impulse seems very functional to me. How did you set that up on the Impulse and the ketron? You would help me a lot with that. I am also now experimenting with Native instruments on the Impulse. The Impulse has folders through which settings are ready. Under 11 with me Kontakt in the Impulse. Experience with it? If so, how do I set it up? With greeting Henk The Netherlands
For NI stuff the Komplete series are very best. What I would wanna ask you. I have the Launchkey 49MK3 at my place, but hadn't seen the Impulse. My main issue with the LK 49 is the keybed. I believe the 61 version has the same keybed (or similar) as the Impulse, but no aftertouch. But since I have a Hydrasynth Deluxe I don't mind. What are your thoughts on the Launchkey?
To be honest, I don't like LaunchKey. I took it to my studio and it seemed so uninteresting that I didn't even want to make a video about it because it's useless for my needs. That doesn't mean that it can be interesting for someone, but it's not for me.
Just got this keys recently, beautiful feel keyboard but just couldnt connect with ableton properly, i think the firmware needs to be up to date. But works on. Standalone programs. But then this was meant to be used with ableton. Just felt disappointed in that
what about its velocity sensitive keys ? especially for piano playing style i have novation launchkey 61 mk2 i feel the velocity sensitive is not good enough for piano playing style
I agree that velocity could be better. But comparing to other controllers in that price range is good. To me, Impulse has better velocity than launchkey.
I prefer Novation. Minimum 61 key but if you want to learn piano than 76 key is better option. To make beats? Those controllers are for controlling software or hardware. I hope that you know that controller do not have any sound or beats. You can control and call sounds and beats.
Have you tried transmitting clock via MIDI OUT? Source being MIDI In, Internal or USB? I cant get Impulse to send clock data to any other device via MIDI OUT
Hate this kb,couldn’t get Air plugins db33 drawbars to work when assigning the cc numbers on the impulse, horrible Automap, half the transport controls don’t work in Reaper,I regret my purchase. Only for tech heads which I am not.

Novation SL MK2 61
This is best demo I of this keyboard I have seen.

0:38 - style from PSR ??
What program do you use with this? Garage band? I’m new to this
Ketron SD90 sound module
Great video do you know how to make the pads act like buttons instead of a midi note?
Keep uploading
That's the plan!
@@Tiho2012I bought the 49 key brilliant !
Should I buy this one or the new launchkey mk3 for live looping?
I am not shure about that sorry I do not have experience with launchkey

What is name the device for the style on your left hands. ??? Thanks man.

Still relevant in 2022 ??? Got one for about £88. Condition is NEW.
Thinking about buying this board, but it's still around £280 which seems a bit steep for a 2011 model.
Would you recommend the impuls 49 or the m audio code 61 for a beginner?
I want to make beats.I also wanna learn the piano

I don't like m audo. I think I like the nextar lx 61 more ( and its cheap)
Anyhows I will get the impulse61 next week.
Tiho, can you compare keys from this keyboard to kronos or m3 keys?
Kronos and M3 keys are better than Novation Impulse keys. Better dynamic, better filling, softer. i am talking about Kronos and M3 61 keys.
Can you tell ...what is that on your style machine...
I do not understand question but I am controlling Ketron SD90 with this controller.
Have you tried transmitting clock via MIDI OUT? Source being MIDI In, Internal or USB? I cant get Impulse to send clock data to any other device via MIDI OUT
I did not tried but I will do so.
pozdrav Tiho, kako namjestiš da na padovima imaš bubnjeve a istovremeno na klavijaturi zvuk klavira?
