I'm so glad to be alive for this age of Strongman competition. Guys like Thor and Brian are one in a billion, and we get to watch two of them compete at the same events.
The best Arnold strongman classic ever. Rogue have done an amazing job, they should be very proud. Strongman is the best, I have already stopped powerlifting and started strongman and loving every minute of it
Man i hope on god they dont hurt them selves. I love watching strongman so much last couple of months i havent missed a video of brian and thor/larry. But these heavy lifts....all i do is hope they dont tear ther hamstrings or get a stroke from all that pressure..their are such geniune and nice guys id hate to see them hurt themselves. But most of the viewers dont acutally see the risk behind thise lifts (especially deadlifting 1000 lbs +)
i gotta say - after hours of research, even with international companies - Rogue , is the the best bar in the world - and affordable throughout the entire range of bars....as far as im concerned they should get an award for best made in america company !!!!
His timing and hip placement was off for the 1105 attempt, and he still got 70 % of the way.. I think he has the strength to complete that lift already, just wasn't his best form for that particular attempt. He's gonna dominate this sport for the next 5-7 years

What was up with the people marking on the stone carry. They marked where stone dropped for some, and marked where their feet were for some. What were they marking from? Where stone fell or feet?
@@salvararonkolbrunarson7734 It's different, Eddie explained in the beggining of the competition, basically the elephant bar pulls you more forward than the standard bar he said, and it needs more time to get used to it, so in other words it's like a more complicated deadlift. lol
Aegonthe spartan- I don’t see how doing a near world record deadlift that was significantly higher than basically all the competition makes him look weak... But he did look gassed out doing the stone carry. Needs some more cardio
Yea, they’re literally the top of humanity and all they get is just 50k. The strongest man of all humanity gets way less than .1% what celebrities who do nothing get.
Eddie had to get himself up to 400 pluss pounds in body weight in order to make his 500 kilo lift. It could have killed him to maintain that body size. After that he chose to take his training in a different direction and he leaned up alot and got healthier.
Is it not allowed to chalk your forearms for the stone carry, because that's what I would do if I were in this situation and hopefully I will be by 2021
I think B Shaw needs to rethink his lead-up training. Seemed to back off the last few weeks and in my opinion looked stronger two months ago in training. I get not trying to risk injury. Prove me wrong Brian! Let’s go man!! 🇺🇸
1:46:35 notice the bar is twisting toward his left knee, he lost his leverage point and had to drop it. I remember Thor said in one of his training videos that as you add more weight on a bar the center of gravity is pushed further away and makes it harder to keep the bar straight.
Funny how people are all Shaw is over the hill. He lifted over 1000 lbs!! The stone was disappointing. Thor's psych up is the key. Always loved how pumped up he gets. Shaw is such a great guy though. Gave Thor a hug after his attempt. Great content.
Mateusz in time will be one of the greatest (maybe the best) in the sport as long as he trains with the proper people That being said, Thor on that deadlift was extremely impressive... WOW. Brian looking for you to come back in day 2
Looked like Shaw and Thor had trouble getting low enough to pick the stone up properly. Looks like the taller you are the harder that event is. Locking fingers is never a good idea, unless you're a rock climber cause then you're relying on finger grip strength instead of overall hand grip strength. I know Shaw didn't get a chance to play around and test it out like he wanted to yesterday, had he done so I think he would've gripped it differently. Then again what the he'll do I know?
I wish Brian had been born 5-7 years later. If he could have gotten in past Big Z’s prime it would have changed a lot of things. He was never pushed to do a big deadlift during his prime and it would have been absolutely epic to see him vs hafthor before he got too old
Thor could have got 500kg if he did it on his first lift. Was great still watching him go for it, respect! Edit: I know the rules of the competition, so yes I know that it is not smart to start at 500kg with a high chance of failure and therefore losing this event. It was just hypothetical thinking that these two additional lifts before the 500kg attempt, might have induced more fatigue than what he gained in strength through potentiation of the muscle. For example one lift at 900 lbs, one at 1000 lbs and one at 1102 lbs might have been more optimal. But again I know these are not ‘smart’ values to win this event.
@@goosjer If he failed he would be exhausted both mentally and physically for attempt 2 and 3 and he probably wouldnt get first place. Its too risky to go all out on your first attempt thats why no one does it
50k for 500kilo deadlift is nothing. The prize money for pulling a new overall wr deadlift should be more than first place for bodybuilding. They are putting there career and life on the line going for that kind of weight.

Does anyone know why Thor has a droop on one side of his lip/face? It looks like he may have had a stroke at some point? Mean no offence, just curious!
I don't like how they do the distance measuring for the husafell stone. They just kinda eye-ball guess where the stone fell and mark it there. They need to come up with a more accurate way of doing the measuring imo.
I think it is in highland games where they measure wherever stones end up. So if you're walking and drop it forward they measure the furthest point back. They may not have carried it the extra couple feet but at least it's better than eyeballing a drop.

Thor's deadlift was insane. I really thought he had it for a quick second, but damn. He's probably less than a year away.

Also, you couldn't go back in weight once you attempted 501 kg. So you would have to attempt the weight three times and if fail, end up at 10th place.

I don't like how they do the distance measuring for the husafell stone. They just kinda eye-ball guess where the stone fell and mark it there. They need to come up with a more accurate way of doing the measuring imo.
I think it is in highland games where they measure wherever stones end up. So if you're walking and drop it forward they measure the furthest point back. They may not have carried it the extra couple feet but at least it's better than eyeballing a drop.
