    I've made my way through several of McCullough's books - from Brooklyn Bridge, to Panama Canal, to Pioneers, to Johnstown Flood, and I'm okay with his storytelling. But it is not "True History" he writes. McCullough is covering the White person's history in these books. It would be better if we could get the true, real stories. He glosses over the contributions of Blacks on the canal, of Blacks in the Pioneers story and of Blacks at the Johnstown flood. He is no HISTORIAN...

      Sad .... is history only to be taught and read about through one’s skin color or through one’s (singular and plural) sacrifice, commitment, and achievement?
