I am not a rich man. Really. I bought an AT-LP120XUSB last year and I couldn't be happier. I suspect that the Pioneer SL1200MK7 is a better TT, but it costs four times as much. Ergo, this is the choice for me.
@@chefbinoe9080 I'm going to get a new cartridge eventually. (I do have a lot of mono records dating back to 1948 so I have a cart and stylus to play them with.) I ditched the felt mat some time ago. I have got an acrylic mat beneath and a leather mat on top. Not only does it sound better, but it eliminates static as well. Stay safe.
It does need speakers Jack but it has a built in Phono stage so powered speakers can be used rather than having to buy an amp too.the speakers have everything built into them .editors do a nice pair not too expensive you can always buy used.
How do you find the Denton 80ths for rock, 70s/80s pop, etc? I'm seriously considering them, but have heard they're more suited to easy listening, jazz, classical, etc?
I listen to any type of genre music, most of my records are from d 70's, 80's up to late 90's, Motown, New Wave..Rock to alternative: Scorpion, Kiss, Suzi Quatro,White Snake, Nazareth, Green Day, Red Hot Chili Pep.,Guns n Roses, Nirvana, Metallica to name a few. Go for it you won't regret.👍

I was hoping that the Dentons would temper the top end and a little warmth to the system, but still retain the open soundstage, dynamics, etc. Will the Cambridge have any problems driving the Dentons?
@@nicksummers2252 It will match perfectly to drive the Denton 80th just give a bit time for breaking in to hear its potential. You have a good taste in gears mate it's a proper Hifi system you have, cheers!
I just received my turntable and decided to play brand new vinyl. Well, things started out well, but then it started skipping. Smh….I made sure the album was free of dust, but it still skipped.
If you did set it up properly accdg. to AT's specification guide should be alright. Set d tracking force into 1.8 instead of 2 so as d anti skating ( adjusting a bit if still skate ). If the problem still occurs send it back to a dealership for a replacement. Hope that helps coz it's a good TT as an alternative to more expensive SL1200, cheers!
Not bad actually interms of hooking up on active speakers but a good external phono preamp can make a major difference in sound quality. You can disengage the RIAA phono preamp of the TT and use the phono input of the stereo Integrated amp/ Receiver for a better sound + it's all about your gears as well, cheers!
@@TheJamesmario it's Pioneer top of the line / flagship AV Receiver back then....Nippon Made! 7.1 home theater Receiver one of the best. I would recommend a dedicated 2 channel Hifi Stereo System as an AV Receiver requires more channels soecifically for home cinema the sound coming out would be different.
Since it's not my first TT, No I didn't! As I'm familiar with these type of AT cartridges. But if you prefer to have a stylus pressure gauge much better since it doesn't cost that much. Just follow the recommended tracking weight by the manufacturer as for me with this type of cartridge I stick around between 1.6g - 2g you can't go wrong. Cheers!
Good sound, feel so good^^
Beautiful

This is a poor man's Technics just upgrade your cartridge & the felt mat into a cork, the sound will improve drastically.

Denon dp 47 are the real top record deck, fully automatic, but its another third of the price of these but not ridiculous amount but too high for me.
Does it require external speakers?
Or can it produce a good sound on its own, this might be dumb, I’ve just never had a turntable, thank you.
