Interesting how Conan's backdrop was not a curtain material, despite the set change after 9/11 in which the backdrop model was replaced by a curtain. I wonder why they decided to stick with the curtain, despite reverting to a backdrop model similar to that of the August/Early September backdrop. Maybe they thought the curtain looked better
This is Late Night w/ Conan we're talking about. They never had a budget that could do such editing, they simply removed the structure from the backdrop. Conan's even made fun of how cheap the show is on a multitude of occasions
I always liked how Conan was never afraid to admit when a joke fell flat, and how he always played it off well with a funny saving remark.
One of the hardest times I ever laughed at Conan was when a joke bombed, and after a few seconds of silence he said "wow that sucked".

The sky color is definitely bluer compared to the first backdrop that was introduced in September.
The curtain was the right choice. Added real depth to the backdrop
