- Hello, cuties! This is Mabo and Jimmy. Here is our reaction to RuPaul's Drag Race Season 16 Episode 16 Season Finale!
The show had a great start with RuPaul's performance. The final looks of all cast members of this season were great. We just watched RuPaul's Drag Race Las Vegas Live Untucked Episode 1, it was funny that many of them were wearing beautiful blue dresses. Honestly, they showed us their best of the best on the runway. Wow!!🤩😳
Top 3 queens performed own number one by one. Nymphia became a worrior emperor to the goddess of the wind. She was so beautiful with the wind on the stage. Plane's performance was campy. And Amanda's reaction to Plane receiving wonderful comments from the judges was priceless. 😂🤣 Sapphira's performance was energetic and fun! Jimmy liked hers the most.
Ms. Cassandra Peterson a.k.a. Elvira was featured on the stage. It was great to know more about her incredible herstory.
Moms of top three contestants gave warm and strong messages to the contestants and the moms in the world. That was very sweet.
Sasha Colby performed with her catchy song and showed up with a fantastic look. 🤩🥳 Gorge!
We had two Miss Congenialities this season. Both made us surprised and made us happy. We all thought Sapphira would take both titles at the end, but... See how we reacted. 🫣🥹😭

I do agree that everything felt in line with Sapphira, BUT, after that final lipsync, there's no way Nymphia wouldn't win, she performed every single stunt on stage. I also think Nymphia had the advantage because all season she never lipsynced even once, this is her first lipsync of the season so nobody expected her capabilities.
for me personally, I've already seen her performances at local drag bars before she was on the drag race, and let me tell you, she was climbing up the railings of the stage and was dangling upside down from it, she's a literal acrobat and gymnast, highly flexible, and a power house performer, I highly recommend watching those videos on youtube
Anything can happen in Drag Race. I guess we watched too many. So we do not trust them until the end.
We have seen someone who never won a challenge took the crown before. We have seen finalists who had the most number of wins did not get the crown before. Number of the wins, number of the lipsync only matters when they move on to the final episode (like semi final episode of season 12).
For all star 7, Monet final lipsync was definately better than Jinkx. But Jinkx killed the entire season. So she won. So we really could not tell anything until the end. Like you said, Nymphia definately did better on the final lipsync on our eyes (We were probably slightly biased towards Nymphie anyway since we were team Nymphie.)
But what Sapphira said and what she did on the stage in this episode and past episodes made us think that it was also her game as well.
Anyhow, we are so happy that Nymphie got a crown. 🥹🙏 What she did was fantastic and is difficult thing to do... competing in outside of the home country having a totally different culture by speaking English as the second language.
I am Japanese. I understand how hard it was (especially writing and Snatch Game).
She was authentic herself and she won. That was so beautiful to watch.

Oh! Jimmy was rooting for Nymphia, too. His tears were coming from happiness to see Nymphia's win. We could not believe what was going on on the TV screen since we both thoght Sapphira would win both titles. What a surprise! Both did a great job, though.

Yay! You got the first comment! Sapphira waited for 11 years for this show and did this good throughout the show, so we were ready to see her receiving both titles until we saw the final lipsync. Wow Nymphia did it. I am so happy. I got these T-shirts and parker that I wore last week's episode at Nymphia's website.

The Queens voted not Ru Paul on Miss Congeniality but Sapphira Cristal did win over 60K in cash/prizes, came in second, played a classy game, got a good tv edit, and could come back for a future All-Stars or Vs. the World Season. There is the tour and the chance to sell merchandise to she set herself up for success! Congrats to ALL of Season 16!
I did not expect that Xunami to earn other half's vote. But throughout this episode, she was always cheering and showing empathy towards the top 3 queens and their family members. I hope we can see her blooming era in the All Star series at some point.

They were so beautiful! @everythingdragraces added up the total prize money Sapphira got throughout the season. It was $95,400. That's nearly $100K... Wow....

I was horrified when I learned Cassandra was 13 and working in clubs,it’s so easy to normalised child exploitation.
Yeah, good point. It seemed to be different back then. Parents will be criticized/arrested and the club will be banned if it is now. 😬 When I listen to stories of Jimmy and his friends, many things that would not happen in current society happened casually back then.

Rooting for Nymphia is not equal to disliking Sapphira. Sapphira was wonderful. Beyond great. But as a person coming from a different country, using English as the second language, what Nymphia did was an incredible thing. I saw an American dream on the TV screen.
