Hi Kofuzi. Great review as always. Taken my triumph 20’s through 100 miles including the Chicago marathon where they were a dream at my 9:20 pace. For me this shoe is as close as I’ll get to the perfect running shoe. I have other shoes in my ‘rotation’ but to be honest since the 20’s arrived they’re not ‘rotating’ much in fact they’re just gathering dust. Not experiencing any hot spots and without doubt my shoe of the year. Ian 🇬🇧
I am from Texas....and I found your Boost dig quite hilarious 🤣 Regarding the T20, I have a love/do not love (not hate) relationship with the shoe. I only it use for my slow, long runs (13+ miles) as the heel is extremely well-cushioned. It simply cups the back half of my foot and deletes all impacts. With that said, the shoe feels a little too clunky for any sustained speeds (beyond slow). I have tried typical "daily trainer" runs and the shoe just does not want to crossover and pick up the pace - It feels unnatural. Ultimately, the shoe gets used once (maybe twice a week) for my weekly long run. Fantastic shoe for that but it gets binned on the other days.
Hey @kofuzi, I'm new to the channel but really enjoying the content. I'm a M34 dad of two, who just started back running; your videos are really helpful and definitely inspiring. Thanks!
Loving the T20s, odd thing is I find it difficult to run slowly in it. It's so soft that running slowly feels more laborious than I'd prefer so I speed up a bit
True. My Ghosts were my daily trainers but switched them out for the Triumph and have them (Ghosts) for my easy day and recovery. Pwrrun+ loves to keep going fast!
I experienced a hot spot in the speed 3 like you describe, I figured it was the nylon plate in that case. I have not felt that in previous triumph models. Great easy long run shoe.
Your video made me buy them. First run was super good, I’ve been losing weight but still on the heavier side and they feel way less harsh on the legs than my novablast 3. I’ve picked up running the past few months and have really enjoyed watching your channel!
Excellent review! Currently run in the Triumph 19's and these things are amazing. I do agree with the hotspot, as I too experienced the same thing on longer runs in the 19's. Subbed!
Hey Ko, about the hotspot. There are several more injuries that may appear in the forefoot than Morton's neuroma. Google up metatarsalgia; it's both a condition and an umbrella term for different conditions relating to a too high of a load on forefoot structures. One key symptom is exactly what you described; a feeling of stepping on a marble. I can confirm from personal experience, having had both the toe capsulitis variant and general metatarsalgia (pain at the bottom of the middle metatarsal heads). What I've found is the condition is easily affected by just particular geometries of the forefoot of midsoles. Thanks for reporting about the hotspot; it sounds like Sauconys in general won't work for me since I, too, get some mild metatarsalgia from certain forefoot geometries.
I cant speak for the Triumph 20 but I defiantly noticed that issue in the speed 3. I feel like its has to do with both the location of the speed role and the exaggerated angle of the heel counter. During toe off, I get the sensation that the midsole underneath my metatarsal is pulling back while my heel raises, causing an unusual sensation of friction that can be felt most while walking. I believe the only reason why I dont feel it in the pro 3 is because it has a higher stack, a sharper rocker, and a decoupled groove at toe off which makes the speed-role action feel smoother.
Very few people know about Saucony here in India. I purchased it online for almost 60per off. The shoe is amazing and very lightweight. 100 miles on them and no sign of wear and tear even on outsole.

I’ve had the T17 and now T19 and they definitely updated the upper, it was to bulky and not good on hot days, still both great durability and confortable shoe. No hot spots for me. I have even done some speed work on the T19 no problems. The T20 looks a lot like the last version. Maybe I will wait for the next version or maybe buy this one on a clearance or promotion discount sale. This shoe has become one of my favorites for recovery slow runs. 👍🏼
I do agree there's to much tongue on that shoe I wish it was much thinner. I always find myself adjusting it. But as far as the Hotspot issue so far I have yet to feel that in any endorphin shoe and I've put tons of miles on my speed 3, pro 3 and Triumph 20.
Had the same hotspot thing with my pro 2, cramping my feet and really hurting beyond 6 km. Really scared me off of saucony, the 200 euros i spent being quite a big investment for me. Saddens me to hear that it might be an issue on other models
The speed 3s gave my right foot some kind of neuroma or nerve irritation. I usually ignore comments like these thinking people have weak feet but it happened to me as well so here I am writing about it lol. Been disappointing because I liked the shoe but have not been running because of said neuroma and scared to use the shoe again or any saucony as this was my first.
I also have experienced the hotspot you mentioned in your review of the triumph 20. After about 100 miles it mellowed away. But whenever I put this shoes on still have that in the back of my mind that it will resurface.. hahaha. other than that a great shoes for the long runs.
The More V4 is still the king of slow, and is more comfortable in my opinion. NB just has it dialed in so perfectly that I cannot find anything better. I agree and would like to see a VS video.
I ordered these last week and they did not feel right at all when wearing them around the house, If I could describe it I would say it felt like the insoles were too wide for the shoe, and not broken in at all. It's a bumpy feeling just wearing them inside the house as my feet don't sit flat inside. I ended up removing the insoles and swapping the ones from my pegasus 37 into them, completely changed the fitting. I totally think the insoles are causing the issue you are having just from what I experienced, I did not even want to attempt a run in them out of the box out of fear! I tried wearing them around the house to break them in but even that was causing discomfort.
Not with the stock insoles, just with the swapped Pegasus ones and they felt really good! 6 miles with them, forefoot felt under-cushioned and underwhelming for a max cushion shoe (not surprised since I changed the thick insoles with a flat no frills one), but solid. I will have to do more testing, as well as putting the stock insoles back in and wearing them casually to break them in, as i feel the forefoot cushioning will improve with them. I am trying VERY hard to love these as I have the grey/pink colorway that looks amazing to me :D
Good point on hot spots...if feasible you can include it for future reviews too...that's one of biggest criteria to select a shoe...for ex I cannot buy clifton because it causes blisters on people with low srches
I get that hot spot that turns into pain on all of my speeds and pros, on the right forefoot, right below the pads. I thought it was because that's where the nylon and carbon plates have some sort of geometric support or something...but if it's happening with the Triumphs as well than I'm way off here. I did run in the Triumph 18s for 600 km and didn't find that issue. My 1080V11s don't have that issue at all, no issue with my Salomon Sense Rides either.
6:50 have kinda similar issue in the endorphin speed 2. But more towards the left big toe area. And depending on the intensity. Zone 1 and 2 no problem. Threshold runs also still ok but mostly after halftime through a vo2max session it begins to heat up and feels like blistering but when I check on the foot there's nothing of a blister or so. Might be also a issue of material between socks and insole... never checked that
Love this shoe as a heavier runner (100kg). I experienced the hot spot the first time I tried to push pace (sub 8min/mile). I changed socks and the problem went away.
Good review, I have the 19th version, it has some stability firmness, over time, I don't feel it any more. The hot spot when running longer distance, I get that a lot on my right foot , no matter what shoes I wear, I think the problem is the weakness of the other leg over longer run, putting all the weight and pressure on the stronger leg. OR wearing wrong shoe drop ?? I try to be mid foot striker, I think wearing higher drop shoes 8~10mm make me land heavy on forth foot ??? 🤔🤔🤔
Had some hotspot under forefoot in the ride 15 and the Triumph 20 my angle of running was almost forefoot only, since i run in a flatter angle the feeling disappeared and the run went smoother and faster. I have the idea if your landing angle on your forefoot is to steep you have a braking sensation under the food resulting in extra friction in the shoes midsole because the rocker wants to push you forward on its own
A comparison between this and the Nike invincible run would be helpful. I’ve never considered the Triumph before, but this video has got me thinking about it for the future. Thank you for giving a different perspective.
Funny you say that as I am not able to wear the speeds since version one……thought I may have Morton’s Neuroma. Tried the Speed 3 Runshields and love the ride but anything over 6-8 miles makes my left foot feel like a nail is going through the middle of my forefoot, sucks
Great review once again! Much appreciated. The Speed 3 has served me well this Fall (picked up a heavily discounted Speed 2 as well -just because) and it sounds like the T20 would be a great recovery or daily shoe for the mix. 👍
I liked the guides and rotated them with solarglides might pick these to rotate with the bostons. My father in law likes them. Still waiting for saucany to release their copycat prime x or their answer to the takumi. Any day now.
@kofuzi, thank you for the review, solid as always! Slightly off topic, are you planning to review the Puma Deviate Nitro 2 at some stage? Would be great to get your thoughts on that shoe, also with a view to V1, which your reviewed last year. Thanks a bunch
Hi kofuzi how are you? i am dealing with Plantar fasciitis and try to find the best and ideal shoes. do you think that this shoes are good for PF? Thank you
I discuss shoe comparisons all the time in the livestreams. today, for example, we discussed my top five favorite max cushion shoes, react foam vs fresh foam x, and velocity nitro 2 vs 1080 vs Clifton vs triumph. I do 5 livestreams per week the other video that you can wait for is my year-end Top 5 videos. this will be in the Top 5 Max Cushion shoes of the year video.
Love your reviews the most of all my RUclipsrs. Do you think the Triumph 21 will be an enhancement over the 20? I wonder if it's smart to buy the 20 now or wait for launch of the 21. It could be lighter I'm thinking.
Hey @kofuzi already have the speed 3 and am still considering buying the triumph 20 as an "easy day" shoe, but the 10mm drop scares me a bit because I'm more of a midfoot runner. but as I can see from the video you are also a midfoot runner is that true and if so do you find the 10mm drop uncomfortable?
For me, the t20s narrow heel and poor incline cause a wobbly feeling when walking on a daily basis, but no problem when running, I can't use it as a daily commuter shoe, which is not the case with the novablast3 and 1080V11 troubles( google translate...)
Great review of Triumph 20. It's my first order of Triumph 20 and found shoes to be short and narrow in toe box in my usual size 7 in comparison to Saucony Speed 3 and Pro, Nike Invincible 2 and Brooks Adrenaline. Additionally the laces are too short for runner's knot. Does anyone else have same issue with short laces? I will be exchanging for size 7.5 to see if fit improves.
i really wish it fit my foot. even with wide fit it was a bit tight and part of my foot would hang off the edge of the midsole. i got the salomon glide max and theyre super comfy though!
Hello kofuzi, I am currently using the saucony speed 3 for daily running. Would you recommend teaming up the triumph 20 with it? I plan on doing long runs eventually but want to have good cushion. The hoka bondi didn’t exactly work for me.
Endorphine Shift 3 is a great option as a training companion to speed 3 if you prefer a firmer ride with a rocker propulsion. Triumph 20 is more on the plush and bouncy side of ride and less rocker geometry.
I'm still using a combination of Triumph 19 (second pair) and Speed 1, and find it works really well! :) Also have a pair of the slightly firmer (than the T19) Ride 15, which is a good shoe, but as one of the taller, heavier runners Kofuzi mentions, find that I don't reach for it so often as the other two.
Just went for a 9k run today in these shoes and I loved it. I'm thinking of also getting a Hoka Rincon 3, to add to my shoe rotation. Should I get the Hokas?
I probably should have had this for the marathon leg of Ironman California last Sunday. My first Ironman. I decided to go with the Endo Pro 3 and since I ended up having to walk so much ... that carbon plate was heavily felt. :|. Seems like this would have been better.
I like you mentioned this could be dailly trailer for heavier runners. I have Nimbus 24 and many reviewiers dont prefer this shoe because they dont like it as daily trainer and they dont like it as recovery shoe, but for me as heavier runner is pefect shoe, it protective but bouncy and energetic as well. I have tried Puma Magnify Nitro in the shop and it seems to me similiar to Nimbus. I think Puma Magnify Nitro could be great daily trainer for me. Thanks for review a i may consider this shoe as well. I am thinking about buying Nike Invincible or Fresh Foam More V4 as well to have something more cushioned.
I have not yet tried the glycerin 20. I've been waiting for the knit version to come out, which it looks like it just did. so I'll have one in for testing soon.
are these shoes good for people with a wide foot? I have a size 10 ultra boost 21 and its not wide enough but right length. should I go to a size 10.5 or 11 or are these shoes not good for wide feet?
People use the SC Trainer in two main ways. For me and the way I like to use v1, I would use this shoe redundantly. For others and the way they like to use v1, it could be a decent complement. I have not yet tried v2 of the SC Trainer
@@kofuzi i actually got the original sc trainer 1 because of 47 mm cushion and loving these so far. The new ones have a 40 mm stack hence wasn't very inclined towards those.
"worth" is a pretty subjective thing, and that will largely depend on one's personal finances. but to speak very generally, I think the 20 is a substantial change from the 19. the updates to the foam are very good.
I didn't like the 19's for two reasons. 1 - The heel cup was too narrow & aggressive. 2 - The mesh upper was too restrictive / not enough flex above the toes. The 20's are an improvement on both of those areas.
The Triumph is more balanced. The Invincible is more particular, as it fights you if you don’t run a certain pace or have a certain foot strike. Triumph is easier to live with for a wider range of people, But if you can get along with the Invincible, it’s pretty good.
@@kofuzi Thank you for your input! I am a new runner so I would imagine needing a more balanced shoe like the Triumph. This is great information because I am still deciding on which shoe could be best for me for longer runs. Appreciate ya!
It doesn’t run true to size for me. My big toes were hitting the tip of the shoe. I ended up exchanging it for half a size up. For speed 3, I’m fine with staying true to size.
Adding a sizing caveat about the Endo Pro 3. I was persuaded to go up .5 to accommodate foot swelling during marathons (my intended use case) and avoid toe issues. It was borderline between my usual size and .5 larger.
@@levandmarthapolyakin-aaron2183 It’s better to go a bit bigger than having our toes squished and cramped during a run, which our feet tend to swell to some extent.

@@wonkydonkey7899 absolutely, and despite the concept of “race fit”, I don’t get black toenails this way. But it’s important to have a good midfoot lockdown so you don’t slide forward-especially on downhills.
If you wanted a 3 shoe rotation I would use Ride as my daily trainer shoe say up to 10 miles, the Triumph for longer slower and recovery runs, and Speed 3 for 10k/half marathon races as well as some threshold runs/intervals
Hi, have the speed 3 and it’s amazing! Do with it all the training runs - for the race I have the next % 2. Training to a marathon right now. Do you think I need to add to the rotation the triumph 20? Love to hear your thoughts.
I would want something like the triumph 20 for your easy runs and recovery runs. speed 3 is good, but there are softer and more comfortable shoes out there for the everyday stuff
when I say it's lighter, you can infer that I'm saying it's lighter than the 19. when I say it's more comfortable or more cushioned, it's more comfortable than the 19.
I wanted to love these shoes but the fit was horrible on my feet. And I have what I'd consider average foot. Neither narrow nor wide. I never had any shoes fit so bad. 🤷 returning them
We know. If we see black shoes, you brought them yourself. Lol… if shoes are for recovery days, I would like to see more stack height more than 40 mm, as the purpose of these shoes are not for racing anyway. My heel are always in pain as I am a heel striker.. like the prime X. I will not buy this triumph then if it gives you pain. No more pain should be with recovery shoes.
I got a pair of 20 because of your suggestion. I went for my first ever 15k run today. Absolutely love them! Thanks mate!!
Glad to hear it! Thanks for the update!
I use it as a daily trainer, probably do 80% of my runs on these shoes. Use the Speeds for workouts/intervals. Both great shoes!

My pads always hurt. Thanks for review. Had 18's - maybe they were more Max Cush than these.
Hoping to see a review of the Triumph 20 versus the Novablast 3! Also, that local runner shirt is 🔥! Do you have a link for it?

Recently demo'd these shoes and I'm agreeing with your insights. Thanks for the video. BTW I like your t-shirt, where's it from?
@kofuzi, thank you for the review, solid as always! Slightly off topic, are you planning to review the Puma Deviate Nitro 2 at some stage? Would be great to get your thoughts on that shoe, also with a view to V1, which your reviewed last year. Thanks a bunch
Hi kofuzi how are you? i am dealing with Plantar fasciitis and try to find the best and ideal shoes. do you think that this shoes are good for PF? Thank you
Hey Kofuzi, what's really missing from your reviews is comparisons. How does it compare to the Pegasus? 880? Ghost? 1080? etc....
I discuss shoe comparisons all the time in the livestreams. today, for example, we discussed my top five favorite max cushion shoes, react foam vs fresh foam x, and velocity nitro 2 vs 1080 vs Clifton vs triumph. I do 5 livestreams per week
the other video that you can wait for is my year-end Top 5 videos. this will be in the Top 5 Max Cushion shoes of the year video.
Love your reviews the most of all my RUclipsrs. Do you think the Triumph 21 will be an enhancement over the 20? I wonder if it's smart to buy the 20 now or wait for launch of the 21. It could be lighter I'm thinking.
That poking sensation happens to me in the Novablast 3 at times. Also on the right foot.
I did not experience it in that shoe, but I feel your pain
Hey @kofuzi
already have the speed 3 and am still considering buying the triumph 20 as an "easy day" shoe, but the 10mm drop scares me a bit because I'm more of a midfoot runner.
but as I can see from the video you are also a midfoot runner is that true and if so do you find the 10mm drop uncomfortable?
For me, the t20s narrow heel and poor incline cause a wobbly feeling when walking on a daily basis, but no problem when running, I can't use it as a daily commuter shoe, which is not the case with the novablast3 and 1080V11 troubles( google translate...)
@kofuzi How does this shoe compare to the Nike Invincible Flyknit 2? If you had to choose between either shoes
Same happens to me,
I would like you to share where the shoes you review are manufactured in your review. Thanks.
Would this be the right shoe for 48 year old man who currently runs 205 for half marathon? THX!!
i really wish it fit my foot. even with wide fit it was a bit tight and part of my foot would hang off the edge of the midsole. i got the salomon glide max and theyre super comfy though!
it's available in wide, so you may want to consider exchanging it
How wld you compare this to the novablast3 and Nike invincible? Looking to get new daily trainers and wld like to explore other types of shoes
Ko, between this one and the NB More V4, which one is your favorite?
Hi - DId you have a chance to try the runshield version ? If so - would the runshield upper be too hot for summer ? - Thanks!
I have not had chance to try them
Hello kofuzi, I am currently using the saucony speed 3 for daily running.
Right now the only hokas people are recommending are the Arahi 6 and the Mach 5. Mach 5 for uptempo runs and Arahi 6 for daily stability trainers.
The Rincon 3 is underrated and awesome. Depending on how you wear down shoes, though, they may pack down a bit quickly.
@@rohanrohilla1080 The Arahi’s are awesome, can confirm. Love mine.
Which had bigger improvement? 18 to 19 or 19 to 20?
I had the hotspot issues on my first 2 runs after which I went and bought another shoe
I consider Nimbus 24 as pefect daily trainer for heavier runner.
Is it the same feeling you had wearing the Adios Pro 2?
I noticed that you land on your forefoot... does that mean you don't really benefit from a high stack or thick cushioning on the rear?
that is an incorrect inference
Thanks
So I use the Brooks Ghost 14 for my work horse show where I put in hundreds of miles. How does it compare?
I haven't run in the Brooks Ghost
What are your thoughts/preference for Saucony Triumph 20 vs Brooks Glycerin 20?
I have not yet tried the glycerin 20. I've been waiting for the knit version to come out, which it looks like it just did. so I'll have one in for testing soon.
How is it compared to infinity zoomx? 👍🏼👍🏼
ืMizuno Wave Rider 26 review?
are these shoes good for people with a wide foot? I have a size 10 ultra boost 21 and its not wide enough but right length. should I go to a size 10.5 or 11 or are these shoes not good for wide feet?
I believe it comes in a wide
Did the hotspot to away? How many miles did you end up logging in this shoe?
Yeah. It ended up not being a problem. I got to 100 miles, which is my typical point for my long term review video that I made
I have the saucony triumph 20 and the asics novablast 3, in my opinion the saucony is so much better
I wear a size 9.5 in Nike pegs u think it fit true to size?
I used the same running shoe size in each
Is this trail run shown in Philly?
Should I pair this with my new super comp trainer?
People use the SC Trainer in two main ways. For me and the way I like to use v1, I would use this shoe redundantly. For others and the way they like to use v1, it could be a decent complement.
I have not yet tried v2 of the SC Trainer
@@kofuzi i actually got the original sc trainer 1 because of 47 mm cushion and loving these so far. The new ones have a 40 mm stack hence wasn't very inclined towards those.
Great review! Is it worth picking this over the 19th versión? Looking for comfort and slow runs. Thanks!!!
@@steverogers6867 i did find the heel cup curves a lot inwards
very likely will skip if the same issue u have on ESpeed 3 and on this too.
Which one is more similar to Triumph 20? Nimbus or Nova Blast ?
they're both quite different, but the Nimbus is in the same class
How would you compare the Triumph 20 to the Nike Invisible Flyknit 2 for easy and long runs?
@@levandmarthapolyakin-aaron2183 I forgot to mention that Saucony uses a 5mm pwrrun insoles this time around, instead of the usual ones they put in all of their running shoe. They’re that much thicker to make triumph 20 Snugger than before.

@@wonkydonkey7899 absolutely, and despite the concept of “race fit”, I don’t get black toenails this way. But it’s important to have a good midfoot lockdown so you don’t slide forward-especially on downhills.
Nice Review Mr Kofuzi, I wonder how this would be against the Ride 15 or the Endorphin Speed 3?
If you wanted a 3 shoe rotation I would use Ride as my daily trainer shoe say up to 10 miles, the Triumph for longer slower and recovery runs, and Speed 3 for 10k/half marathon races as well as some threshold runs/intervals
@@richardharvey4216 I thank you for your input, just checking to see which would work for daily tempo training and some short ( up to 10k) speed work.
What is the cause of this hot spot? I'd hate to fork out for some pro3's or speed3's and have that problem.
I think it's a combination of things that are happening in Saucony shoes in 2022 and things that are happening in my feet in 2022
@@kofuzi i hope if i fork out all that money it doesn't happen to me too.
Ur glasses are fire 🔥 , what brand are they?
Are you planning on doing another Pegasus 39 video?
maybe. I think I've got less than 50 miles in them so far
Does anyone out here also owns the Brooks Glycerin 20? How does it compare with the Saucony Triumph?
Hi, have the speed 3 and it’s amazing! Do with it all the training runs - for the race I have the next % 2. Training to a marathon right now.
Do you think I need to add to the rotation the triumph 20? Love to hear your thoughts.
I would want something like the triumph 20 for your easy runs and recovery runs. speed 3 is good, but there are softer and more comfortable shoes out there for the everyday stuff
Isn’t geometry the shape of the midsole versus the rocker?
by definition, terms of art are to be interpreted differently than the vernacular use
That shirt is 🔥🔥🔥
I got mine at dumbrunner dot com
@@kofuzi thank you sir 🤜🏾🤛🏻
Initial compression is way too soft for me and there is zero rocker feel. I'll buy the T19 at discount and my feet will be much happier.
Glideride 3 all day!
How does this shoe compare to the triumph 19??
when I say it's lighter, you can infer that I'm saying it's lighter than the 19. when I say it's more comfortable or more cushioned, it's more comfortable than the 19.
Kuzi...du u like la zapato....bucko..
Tanks bloke
I wanted to love these shoes but the fit was horrible on my feet. And I have what I'd consider average foot. Neither narrow nor wide. I never had any shoes fit so bad. 🤷 returning them
sorry you're not enjoying them, and I'm happy you'll be able to return. what will you be getting instead?
Waiting for 100 mile review
