I swear, Hans is the one musician in this day that will make me cry when I listen to his music. His explination of At Wits End as a love theme is touching and expressing. It's unbelievable.
I cried when I heard „One Day!!! That must be THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SONG IN MOVIE MUSIC HISTORY ! The feeling matches the movie scene, it shows the love between Will and Elizabeth at its grand and of course their sadness for being apart for 10 years! Hans Zimmer is a genius and everybody must know that!!
Originally Hans was asked to do the first movie, he did two or three themes but couldn't do it since he was very busy with The Last Samurai. So what he did he offered the job to Klaus Badelt, he left everything there and about two weeks later he joined again as a music producer for the recordings, that why he is credited as: over produced by. Bruckheimer really likes to work with Zimmer, rumor had it that was the reason Silvestri was fired, but the director also didn't liked the music he did.
Stefan Fraser hey there, it is the drum set of simon Phillips. here you see tomtom numbers 4 to 7 and his tama gong-bass-drum. check out simon phillips ;)
i don't know if its in this part or the 2nd but anyone else gets really annoyed at jerry bruckheimer when he says, "a few notes can make a brilliant melody, that's what i believe in, i believe good/simple strong melody's" (or something like that.) It always makes me feel like, oh man shut the f- up.

I know, and like Hans said, he likes to work with musicians because they give you the gift of their heart as they're playing your melody. (:
