This is a wonderful lesson! Thank you so much for emphasizing the "awkwardness" part or I would have given up in the first few minutes. I'm going to keep practicing and following exactly what you said. Thanks again!
Quick anatomy experiment to clarify the “ring” and middle finger connection: Make a fist and lay it (fingers down) on a flat surface (table perhaps). Now, ONE finger at a time, extend the index first (still keeping fist tight to table) and lift it up and down from the surface. Bring it back to the fist and do the same with the pinky then pull it back and extend the middle, repeating the process. Finally, try it with the ring finger… hmmm.
I learned something right off. Excellent. Thanks. What if I upstroke on M? I seem to have more power and percussion with Middle than Index on the upstroke that sound more like the flicks downward. My index gets a weaker sound that stands out.
Is it normal for my fingers to ache at the joints and knuckles after doing this for a couple of days? I'm starting to do sloppy technique to wrok around the pain...
And could you please tell a few words about the golpeador? Is there two sheets of it on the sound board? What would be your recommendations on how to mount it? I see, that's not the topic, so I'd understand ignoring😊
You can google for yourself it there are quite a few useful articles Electrostatic Golpeadors require no glue therefore if removed they don't leave marks. I'm not sure how they work but I have one and it works wonderfully. You can have one large sheet that goes under the strings or 2 sheets, one going on one side and the other on the other side of the guitar. It doesn't really matter precisely where you put it as long as it protects your guitar from your nails.
Do you know why the all down stroke style went out of fashion? I find the upstroke version dislodges the ‘continuous’ nature (by including the upstroke, hence never really sounding continuous).
If you practice just what you saw in this video you´ll never be fast like he did. Notice that when one finger is stretched out the next one has to be bent and this requires exercises to educate the fingers to be able to flex naturally and at the right time sure this is work for many years. That guy didn't say because the secrets are paid for and he doesn't give them away for free
THIS IS THE Rasgueados secret that was not told in the video !! the speed secret is this and is much harder »»»»» ruclips.net/video/o-ajgiwfCng/видео.html
I've been trying this for years, and now have more hope of fluency - Thank You, Kai!

Such a good lesson, thanks Kai!
Beautiful explanation!!!
Excellent breakdown. Thank you!
Looking forward to learning this on my 7-string classical, so I can anchor on the low 7th string and strum all 6 strings of a normal guitar.
Excellent lesson
Cool 😎 technique! Thanks😅
Such great instruction
Thank you so much!

Their argument is stated just after the first minute of the video

Who teaches that on RUclips?
What do you mean?
Isn't it just a circular pattern of movement for rasgueados? Or is there something else?
There are also professional players who tell you to never shoot the fingers. Some use both methods.
Brilliant! Just one tiny thing: it’s “Rasgados” (rasguear is not a word. Rasgar means to tear something away)
What a joke doing that "tips" you never will be fast.

This is THE video indeed. Highly recommend
