- The World Trade Center is a mostly completed complex of
buildings in Lower Manhattan, New York City, U.S., replacing the original seven buildings on the same site that were destroyed in the September 11 attacks. The site is being rebuilt with up to six new skyscrapers, four of which have been completed; a memorial and museum to those killed in the attacks; an elevated park adjacent to the site, called Liberty Park; and a transportation hub.

The rescue dogs got depressed that they only found dead people, their handlers buried themselves in the rubble so the dogs could “find” a living person
They found 20 survivors, and a handful of intact remains. Only found a few bodies months into recovery.
A lot of bodies were blew up to pieces cause due to the explosion that happened at the top.

I grew up looking at old history books from the 90’s, and a few of them had pictures of New York in there with the towers. But whenever I could see the skyline myself, the towers weren’t there. So I asked my mom about it once, about where the towers were that I had seen, and she got a serious look on her face and said “You’ll understand when you’re older buddy.” I didn’t know what that really meant about the towers, so I just kinda let it go.
When I was about 10-11, I finally learned the depth of 9/11. I had already known about it since age 8, but didn’t truly know how deep it was. By that point the new tower was like 3/4 of the way done, and I saw it and kinda ignored it because I thought it was just some other tower. It saddened me, and even though we had very little people affected by it I still felt hurt inside.
When the new tower was completed I was in 6th grade, and my History/Social Studies teacher made a big celebration the day after it was done. She had multiple family members affected and at least one had been killed. We celebrated with her, and it looked like she was the happiest she had been ever, I don’t think she had a happier moment than that after I left her class. I wish I could still talk to her. She was an amazing person.

My uncle has lived in New York since he was 18 and he remembers the towers he said they were cool he used to go roller blading around them, he said he doesn’t feel the same with the freedom tower.
Your uncle is not alone. Many people feel the same toward the "F" tower. You don't destroy beauty like the Towers, throw something that resembles a twisted BudLIght can up, and expect people to embrace it. It should never have been built. To not rebuild the Twin Towers is to cater to the evil that destroyed them and mocks the 3000 people who lost their lives.
They cleaned everything and build it back up in such a small amount of time it’s crazy

Even though I was born in 2009 8 years after 9/11 this still makes me shed a tear knowing the towers were really beautiful at one time.
That year 2009 is also my birth year.

The one world trade center is not a bad tower, only the unfortunate one was created to replace something irreplaceable
probably would have been easier to swallow if they'd have done another set of twins, make a second freedom tower to build the skyline back to its somewhat greatness.
World Trade Center for me will always be those two tall towers surrounded by smaller buildings with that amazing countyard... such a shame that all of that is gone... and of course that open observation deck on the roof of the 2nd tower, way better than the "one world observatory".

I went there September 28-29th to run the Stephen siller 5k. Let me say this as a 15 year old. It is truly amazing and sad at the same time. To stand where many bodies where is just sad. This might not be cool to y'all but to me it is, touching the world trade Center. As we explored it was humble. As if I a 15 year old wanted to be there on 9/11 to save people. The day of the Stephen siller 5k was very bizarre because not only me and my other jrotc cadets ran the steps of siller many other people did. To run through the tunnel and to hear many people clapping and recording us was unbelievable. My legs was hurting but I pushed through it. The moment I say the finish line its like I had the most power ever nothing hurt. My prayers go out to the people affected on 9/11

I Just visited NYC not to long ago I went to see the memorial museum there was nothing that said u hac to be silent but everyone was. My uncle was one of the 1,000 of people lost on that day. Such a tragedy .

Wild Earth Both projects are on hold so...it might not happen. While Larry has recently said he might build WTC 2 on spec, it doesn’t mean it going to happen and the Port Authority has also said they have no plans for WTC 5.
Hopefully at least WTC 2 gets build, but I have little faith that WTC 5 is going to happen any time soon or even in ten years.

@Itzz Trippyy Yes, on the ground level the building was built to withstand large bombings and in the sky it was made to withstand a large aircraft hitting it. There are also L.E.D strips in hall ways and stairways and first responders have their own stairways to climb if an emergency happens.
Assassin that was said about the old one to but it’s not true lol. Nothing can stop a commercial airliners plane going full speed through a building. Yeah maybe it won’t collapse as easily but people would still die. The only thing they’d get lucky with is the wide stairs, and depending where the plane hits that wont mean shit. Terrorist have said that wasn’t the only attack they have been planning so I hope it’s nothing worst, my guess is their trying to target the Empire State Building. Because one of the planes on 9/11 was gonna hit the Empire State Building but didn’t because the plane was delayed and they got captured.

I hated it when there cause we went to the big square water thing and my dad told me to take a picture and the audacity he had to force me to smile. SMILE to a memorial where the names of the people that died are written. In the picture you’re able to see 3 names clearly and it just enrages me every time I see that picture just cause the fact that he didn’t respect them....
The original twins looked so much better than this new tower. The new tower looks like something the New World Order would design, probably because they did design it.
