Hi, you were able to clone his arm AND the joint connecting it to his body. I have never been able to clone the end connector like that. I see live clone was turned on which I tried as well but the connector doesn’t come with it. How did you do that? Thank you in advance, love your channel!
Yessssss this is such a good tutorial that explanation of the teleporter trick was explained so simply and clearly, it doesnt even seem intimidating!! And the editing and jokes are hilarious XD top notch. Well done! Keep it up! Looking forward to more!!
Hell yeaah! Ive been looking for a character creation guide for like a month now. I dont k ow what you have planned for the next video in the series but if you can eventually get to clothing sculpting like creases, baggy material, stretch marks in fabric layering and all that stuf thats rekated to clothing sculpting. Or if you have a different way to make clothes i.e with paint then that would be awesome!
If sculpt is sculpted off center, Zoom in to that sculpt until it goes to that yellow screen where you can alter the sculpt, then R2 recenter it. :) I hope this helps.
Thanks a bunch. Didn't think I'd understand it but... managed to make myself a fully rigged character and even custom animations! Can't thank you enough.
bro... you sound like Ben Stein wtf. monotone ass boi. That being said. This is a great tutorial. Anyone learning to make characters in Dreams should start here!.
Great job, PoC! I watched the video but I don't understand why you initially connect the shoulder and thigh pieces to the extra cubes instead of the chest and thigh.
I found using the boxes to be the quickest and easiest way for me atleast to copy the limbs already rigged saving you from having to rig the other side.
The best and funniest dreams tutorial ever! Could you make a video on how to make custom puppets without visible joints like yours? When I make one or modify the default puppet you can always see the creases on the elbows, knees, and cacncsamtkct
wait so i didnt imagine it?? the MM default puppet gadget is partially off center in its sculpt?? I thought i noticed that when trying to figure out why my puppets carved out from premade puppets always seem to end up slightly off center in places... but i hoped I'd just made a mistake on my end somehow
@@PieceofCraft wooooooooow. Catch me never making a character from the default puppet again. Has anyone made an asset that's the default puppet except on grid? X,D (this is gayest btw)
I have tried to follow your tutorial, but I have a problem with the auto-animation : my character walks like a horse. I don't understand the problem. I have checked the rigging, the angles... And I have turned off collision, etc.
Absolutely. If you're dedicated you can accomplish anything. If you need an example look up elca gaming. He's a friend of mine who had no prior artistic background and just look at how far he's come. You can also make music or simply take art others have made and remix it to make your own game. It's really worth a try for anyone interested.
For me yes, but I've also been working in dreams since it's relase So I had about a year and half to 2 years of experience at the time I sculpted this character
@@PieceofCraft oh cool, I got the dreams early access as I always wanted a game maker on the ps4;have made some decent things in dreams but I haven’t played it for a few years now - I definitely think it’s time to jump back in though as I’m sure there are some even more amazing creations to play now!!
i tried and failed to make my own rig thanks for this tutorial ive watched a different one and it didnt help much at all. it wasnt as detailed as this.

double tap x on the box. it'll select everything in a connection chain
good catch i should've explained that
@@PieceofCraft thank you for the quick reply I’ll try that!
The puppet screaming when you deleted half his joints freaked me out XD
It cost him an arm and a leg.. literally..
Best tutorial I've seen yet from anyone on dreams, it even has a little humor which is always great
This was immensely helpful, and the only video that actually showed the process in a way that I understood. Thanks!!
Well done!
This is a really underrated tutorial.
10/10
PoC is like an actual professional
Noice!!
Subbed and good idea with Dipper sudden scream, lol!
When’s a
Been waiting for one of these. thanks bruf
Yo this is like the very best thing right now
Amazing. Love the sense of humor here and super informative

Very Nice Tutorial :) !!!
Dang the prophecy was true it's finally out!
I about choked on my coffee the moment you said ‘cacncsamtkct’ 😂
This is the best video ever!!!!

🙌Great job POC, very awesome tutorial.

Awesome tutorial, now maybe if I can make decent sculpts for Amon, he'll be able to move like a real boy
just seeing this for the first time. solid-ass video! gr8/8 would (and will) watch again
What a pro! Thank you for this.
Incredible tutorial, well made and funny!!
This helps a lot as a sculptor and painter trying my hand at characters. I can't wait for the hand animations. I am making fps arms ATM. Thanks
Another important thing I thought it’d be useful to share, is to make sure all the puppets body parts still look good when rotated
Amazing and entertaining tutorial!
This is an EPIC level tutorial. Also all the love for Mabel ❤
That intro surprised me😂

@@PieceofCraft gotcha, thanks for the explanation 👍
An animation tutorial would be neat. Also, I love it.
PoGgers if u don't mind me saying so

Great stuff man. Thanks for sharing!
Did you make the character yourself? If so would you mind showing us how to model good looking toons like this?
would you consider making a tutorial for this little animation of dipper screaming ? it was so cool to see it and i would love to do something like it
Animation videos are planned after the rigging series is done. Im not sure if its going to be tutorial like or more tip based yet.
I dont know shit bout rigging but I now know the importance of crotch powers
LMAO those controller cut scenes are funny. :)
5 viewers and 5 likes. Thats how it should be.
I cackled at 7:10 when he screamed lmao
Thank you so much for this!!
This going to be so helpful
This is a video I feel like I would see in my science class lol, thanks tho
Thats good i was going for cheesy school lecture 😂

Nope you didnt imagine anything! All of the puppets in dreams are slightly off center. It annoys me everyday thinking about it.
@@PieceofCraft wooooooooow. Catch me never making a character from the default puppet again. Has anyone made an asset that's the default puppet except on grid? X,D (this is gayest btw)
@@itarfer It's very easy to re-centre, though. Turn on puppet mirror, and tap the pelvis. Now the pelvis is in the centre ;P
@@TAPgiles oh wow omg
@@TAPgiles cool but this is still a tutorial on rigging your own character not centering puppets that should already be centered.
Nice! Any chance of some similar Dreams animation tutorials?
Remember to use live clone when you clone limbs
Could you explain why? Might solve an issue I've been having where my cloned and mirrored limbs end up mirroring again and being two left limbs lol
finally :)
🐐
I have tried to follow your tutorial, but I have a problem with the auto-animation : my character walks like a horse. I don't understand the problem. I have checked the rigging, the angles... And I have turned off collision, etc.
Hmm if your character is small it could be the hit box, are the legs flat to the ground or does it seem like it's floating alittle?
7:10
dipper moment
i can see that its similar to lbp's creation, yet i didn't understand a thing
How can I prevent the flamingo legs?
So we can't do hand animations with fingers?
Saving that for a separate tutorial :)
I waa always afraid of the crotch, after i watched this video, now i embrace it.
Is That Dipper From Gravity Falls?
How do you get them to not flop I've been trying to make simple fingers and all they do is flop 😢
Fingers aren't something the puppets in dreams support. Unfortunately you'd have to keyframe figures and animate them all yourself
@@PieceofCraft thank you😁
What in God's name is that catchy outro music?
