I agree as well. His dance moves are amazing as well but it’d be nice for him to take an “unplugged” approach to a tour and play smaller venues and just let the voice shine.
They’re not actually background singers they’re solo artist. Both great artists too. They can just actually sing and more than likely doing this favor for him because why not. It’s usher.
This is how an R&B singer says "sit down kids, let me teach you a lesson..."The man is a legends legend and NPR is GOATED for continuing to bring the best live performances. Also, I don't think people realize how tight this band behind him is and has to be. Credit to all the artists involved and Usher for putting this together
After the foolishness at the Omarion & Mario versus, Usher had to come back and remind us what real R&B should sound like as well as give us a beautiful performance👏🔥
Oh you just reminded me I'm supposed to watch that still, all I hear is that it was a clown show🤦🤣🤣. I need my own proof that Jeremih was a flop I'm not buying that one🤷♂️
I watched the BET AWARDS and the R&B singers were huffing, puffing, off pitch, out of breath, pitch correction in the mic and still sounding bad. This was a vocal masterclass by Usher. Vocals still matter.
The latest crop of artists don't invest in vocal training from a young age, some do not even know what key they will be singing in and many do not put in the hours in terms of stage performance or presence.
It's easy to envision Usher being a mentor, brother, uncle, cousin, friend, friendly neighbor, etc... Such a likeable and relatable human. So glad he exists!
This is already a top 3 Tiny Desk Concert for me. The way he introduces every member with him by name & the instrument they’re playing. Bringing Eric Bellinger & VEDO with them. The way he engages with the crowd and makes sure that they are involved as well. The small speeches he has in between songs as the band starts to play the next song he is introducing. Phenomenal. I know none of this is new but it just seemed so seamless the way Usher did it right on point and kicks every song of immediately so effortlessly. The engagement was very present. I know these are meant to be mini concerts but Usher needed AT LEAST another 20 mins. He has too many hits.
He's been performing the majority of his life. This seemed sooo effortless for him. The vocals, the swag, the band!!! Usher Raymond you did not disappoint
I seriously never get sick of seeing this tiny desk! I cant believe theres only like less than 20 ppl there! such a freken treat! unbelievable experience! I want to be at a great tiny desk!!!!!
Usher is one of the few male RnB artists that has crossed the lives of three generations of music fans. Folks in their early 50s, folks in their 30s, and now their late teens! It's amazing. Confessions will be my all time favorite album of his.
I love the fact that Usher highlighted his band and gave Eric Bellinger and Vedo the recognition they deserve. He is such a talent. LIVING LEGEND IN REAL LIFE
Hey guys. I’m aware that they are artist. I’m saying in this context they are his background singers (in respect to usher leading) No disrespect intended.
Usher pushing Vedo and Eric Like that is so so honourable because they’re really great vocalists!! I also loved how Usher did his own songs better than him🤌🏾🤣 NPR you did well on this one
@@SkyNetGeneral- buzzer! Brother his catalog speaks for itself! He’s definitely in that category and is still consistently relevant to this day! He has a diamond (10 million +) album: a feat only acquired by MJ and Prince respectfully.
@@SkyNetGeneral- lol who cares bro. he is great and don't need no comparison. also u arent a legend because u are compared to other people, u are a legend because u achieved great things.
The timing of this coming out right after that disastrous Versus battle is too much! Like Usher was so offended by Omarion and the others' performances that he had to come out of retirement and show them how it's done 🤣😂🤣😂
I love that he’s comfortable, hes laughing playing around, & then bust out hitting all these crazy notes!!!! Yessss everything & everyone is amazing !!!!
Y’all just don’t understand what it was like in those preteen/teen years and having this r&b sensation as your heartthrob… this took me back 20 years and I’m loving it! He had us in a chokehold 🤣. There’s only one Usher Raymond ❤️.
I wasn't even tryna wild out listening to this concert but couldn't help myself. All those memories were reactivated and before I knew it, I'm singing like a fool to my TV like I'm part of the set!
👏🏽👏🏽🥰🥰💯💯 But Eric BEEN BEEN in RnB he wrote for plenty folks and was background. He wrote Usher Superstar if im not mistaken that's why Usher gave him lead for that.....Eric is just finally getting his recognition 👏🏽 and Vedo is more so new to the game. I understood your point tho with "this generation"
Eric been around for awhile and if 10yrs ago you was into The RUclips Song Cover Phase you woulda known Vedo he was one of the more Popular RUclips Singers that covered Songs back then
@@dmac24ism don’t worry, I know Eric and Vedo has been around for a long time. And I had a RUclips cover as well but didn’t know Vedo til a little bit later. They are very talented and passionate about their craft ♥️
How is this man's voice still the same it was when he was a teen?? He doesn't age and neither does his voice. Pure and raw talent. Been a fan for over 20 years
Anybody else FEEL like this was one of the greatest returns to OG NPR Tiny Desk Concerts!?!? Usher reminded us of his undeniable talent and why NPR tiny desk is one of the purest formats to showcase great music for music lovers!
Usher is truly one of the most profound R&B artist of our era. He's definitely top 5. He gave us so much Beautiful music. Its always magic when he sings. What a legend! You just feel the good vibes through the video. Do you guys see how genuinely joyful he was to be there? and i love how he lets Eric & Vedo get their shine and he's smiling staring at them like a proud father. You can tell he was truly enjoying this moment in his natural element. 💯🙌🔥
One negative about this Tiny Desk episode...it wasn't LONG ENOUGH!! Usher's catalog is extensive, but then I guess we'd be here all day. I have time tho!❤️👏❤️
Usher came into the industry when vocals were still VALUED. This man don't need a better sound man/ microphone. He HAS IT (Vocals) and he can dance. He's a great Performer all around.
After seeing this, I logged off, went to ticketmaster, bought my ticket to his residency in LV, booked my flight to LV and watched history. Alone. It was amazing
The mic on and emotion while serving vocals puts Usher giant steps ahead of others when it comes to his RnB and engages with people knowing they feeling the music too
The respect Usher has for his band! To introduce them FIRST and by first and last name. Superstar is still a fav from the Confessions album. Perfection! I expected nothing less from the legend. Eric Bellinger is super slept on in the industry, talent and longevity. Happy to see him shine on this platform.

I’m sorry, but y’all have to give legends like Usher at least an hour and a half. 25 minutes is not enough!!! 😭
Seriously tho, why is it so short??? I could and would listen to an hour of Usher!
That 25 minutes is highly disrespectful but maybe he told them they couldn’t get more than 30
I agree.
FR 😩😩😩
It’s blasphemous
he should do this as a tour....intimate and with the entire band. This setup works EXTREMELY well for him
I agree 💯
I agree 100%!!
this really is the kinda setup that works BEST for his voice
I agree as well. His dance moves are amazing as well but it’d be nice for him to take an “unplugged” approach to a tour and play smaller venues and just let the voice shine.
Really dope for E to get this look as well. 🙏🏽🙏🏽
I love how Usher introduced his band at the start and let his backup singers shine 🙌🏽❤️ loved this 🥰
I know the drummer mad he ain’t get no love 😂
He didn't shout out the drummer 😭 The literal reason why songs have a "beat"
@@DMarcoTheBeast he did give the drummer his love like 2 songs later.
They’re not actually background singers they’re solo artist. Both great artists too. They can just actually sing and more than likely doing this favor for him because why not. It’s usher.
Same - it’s really cool.
Usher is ADORABLE❤
Now this is an True R&B artist….not too many artist can sound EXACTLY like the song they recorded 20+ years ago
Literally!!!!!!!
Nobody want smoke with Usher in a versuz and probably the 1 person that could just got 30 years
This is how an R&B singer says "sit down kids, let me teach you a lesson..."The man is a legends legend and NPR is GOATED for continuing to bring the best live performances. Also, I don't think people realize how tight this band behind him is and has to be. Credit to all the artists involved and Usher for putting this together
Yessssir and the lesson was TAUGHT!!!!!!! 🔥 🔥 🔥
Exactly! Well said! 🔥🔥🔥
Talk that talk broski!!!
Facts
You betta say that again
I love how happy he looks displaying his art. His smile is so contagious
Just absolutely beautiful!😍😍
Especially during the start of confessions..he giggles so cutely after saying ""watch this"" with his fingers across his eyes lol
Make you melt smh
He is contagious. Truly Contagious!
Usher a smooth brother some people just have that “ it “ factor
After the foolishness at the Omarion & Mario versus, Usher had to come back and remind us what real R&B should sound like as well as give us a beautiful performance👏🔥
Agreed 😂 but the only thing foolish during that versuz was Omarion lol
@@gorjess1487 And Ray J! 😆
It was a good laugh 😁
Oh you just reminded me I'm supposed to watch that still, all I hear is that it was a clown show🤦🤣🤣. I need my own proof that Jeremih was a flop I'm not buying that one🤷♂️
Exactly
You can tell he’s performing his whole life because he just has that swag and stage presence like few have
Yes, he was born for this
Yes he does I concur he was alot of charisma, charm and personality he also knows how too grab your attention.
❤❤❤❤
Yes 💕✨ love it
@@T_Laughshhj😊⁰😊
I watched the BET AWARDS and the R&B singers were huffing, puffing, off pitch, out of breath, pitch correction in the mic and still sounding bad. This was a vocal masterclass by Usher. Vocals still matter.
The latest crop of artists don't invest in vocal training from a young age, some do not even know what key they will be singing in and many do not put in the hours in terms of stage performance or presence.
@@siriusakari6729 unfortunately 😪😪
Yes 🔥🔥🔥
The only good one was Chloe
@@siriusakari6729 And it SHOWS!!!
It's easy to envision Usher being a mentor, brother, uncle, cousin, friend, friendly neighbor, etc... Such a likeable and relatable human. So glad he exists!
What a weird comment.
@@skip031890 what a rude comment :) so many other comments in here to appreciate, and yet, you thought it necessary to say this lol
I need NPR to have a spotify playlist because these live sessions hit different 😍
So true
They really do.
I second that, but also for Apple Music :)
Super FACTZ!!!!
Just get youtube premium and make a playlist! 🤣
What are your other 2 in the top 3?
@@leiyonayoung4736 pls say burna boy lol
Introduced everyone except the white boy drummer🤦♂️
@@Brainwave99 he went back and introduced him later on in the video homie
I think we need a ranking system on Tiny Desk to see who's performance is the best. Not just # of views, but polls with specific criteria.
After that recent Verzuz, this healed the ears. Someone that can actually sing and perform. This is actual R&B.
Facts. This just healed my soul.
I gotta addd Mario handled his own though. !
@@HouseofMone You're right, didn't even mean to include him in that mess 😂
And those are real harmonies...amazing
That was awesome! Now that’s what you call true talent
the one tiny desk concert i keep coming back to
This man been bodying R&B since the mid 90’s and his vocals unedited sound straight like CD quality! Black excellence.
Agreed
🙏🏾🙏🏾
Beast vocalist
Love this comment ❤️ 👍👍
No lie! Big facts!
He's been performing the majority of his life. This seemed sooo effortless for him. The vocals, the swag, the band!!! Usher Raymond you did not disappoint
yessssss he one of the few pioneers that sound the same well better actually 😂
This was EVERYTHING. The band was perfection, Usher’s voice was crystal clear, and Eric and Vedo on backup? Clutch!
That band was tuff!!!!!
All three of them vedo, Eric bellinger and usher literally all my favorite artists wish I was there their voices meng
Yes!!
Absolutely hands up and down a great performance❤️
I seriously never get sick of seeing this tiny desk! I cant believe theres only like less than 20 ppl there! such a freken treat! unbelievable experience! I want to be at a great tiny desk!!!!!
To introduce each band member by their first and last name… Class act. Vocals off the chain. Best Tiny Desk Concert so far! 🔥
I agree
except the one guy he forgot 😆
@@sharimclean3909 I think he didn´t actually. He might have done that in purpose.
nah tpain was better but this was good thus far!
@@biggooombah4150 Is this t-Pain? Bc there's no way. LOL I Love T-pain, but Usher really surprised me here.
He could literally be on here 3 more times and still have hits left over. He is an absolute legend.
Period!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Absolutely.
Usher is one of the few male RnB artists that has crossed the lives of three generations of music fans. Folks in their early 50s, folks in their 30s, and now their late teens! It's amazing. Confessions will be my all time favorite album of his.
AMEN
Can’t count how many times I watched
Usher is really great
I love the fact that Usher highlighted his band and gave Eric Bellinger and Vedo the recognition they deserve. He is such a talent. LIVING LEGEND IN REAL LIFE
Girl those aren’t background singers.. those are successful R&b singers currently out, that HUMBLY blessed us by singing background vocals for usher.
Eric Bellinger and Vedo are awesome artists in their own right. Checkout Vedo’s covers of Ella Mai’s songs “Boo’ed Up” and “Trip”
Hey guys. I’m aware that they are artist. I’m saying in this context they are his background singers (in respect to usher leading) No disrespect intended.
Background singers...insert souljah boy gif 🤣 I love me eric bellinger & vedo, put some respect on em
@@cristina-dk4vo lol I hear you
Usher pushing Vedo and Eric Like that is so so honourable because they’re really great vocalists!! I also loved how Usher did his own songs better than him🤌🏾🤣 NPR you did well on this one
I couldn't agree more. Shine the light on the guys who really push the genre forward 🏆
Eric and Vedic are great !
They have both wrote for him and he’s been pushing them for a while, and honestly there his protégés
Usher has such a crisp, clear falsetto. How legends do it!!
He’s got that Marvin Gaye level falsetto, and I do not say this lightly. Can tell he’s trained and ready to deliver
@@brandonrice2833man what a perfect comparison for Usher
@@SkyNetGeneral- buzzer! Brother his catalog speaks for itself! He’s definitely in that category and is still consistently relevant to this day! He has a diamond (10 million +) album: a feat only acquired by MJ and Prince respectfully.
@@SkyNetGeneral-shush lol
@@SkyNetGeneral- lol who cares bro. he is great and don't need no comparison. also u arent a legend because u are compared to other people, u are a legend because u achieved great things.
Usher's voice, music style, and swag are still reigning; this man is still at the top of his game.
The timing of this coming out right after that disastrous Versus battle is too much! Like Usher was so offended by Omarion and the others' performances that he had to come out of retirement and show them how it's done 🤣😂🤣😂
He saw them tweets of people saying Omarion was a better singer and was like "lemme get out here and show these young bloods"
😭😭😭😭
@@IndigoSkye93 And that he did!🤣
I mean, he’s not in retirement lol but he definitely had to set the record straight 😂
Exactly he came to correct the error in their ways lol 😂
I love that he’s comfortable, hes laughing playing around, & then bust out hitting all these crazy notes!!!! Yessss everything & everyone is amazing !!!!
Dont read my name 😑 😒 .
The mic is ON.
Good energy 101
Y’all just don’t understand what it was like in those preteen/teen years and having this r&b sensation as your heartthrob… this took me back 20 years and I’m loving it! He had us in a chokehold 🤣. There’s only one Usher Raymond ❤️.
Well said!
He still my crush 🤣
HAD?! He still has me in a chokehold and I'm married. 🤣 Hubby understands tho 😂
Lisssten!! I just told my husband, Usher can get it anytime he want it. This man was it for me back then.
I wasn't even tryna wild out listening to this concert but couldn't help myself. All those memories were reactivated and before I knew it, I'm singing like a fool to my TV like I'm part of the set!
Usher, Eric Bellinger and Vedo what a treat!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
The fact that Usher took this generation’s men of RnB, Eric and Vedo, under his wing for this performance as his background singers is GOLD 👌🏾🔥
Eric been around for awhile and if 10yrs ago you was into The RUclips Song Cover Phase you woulda known Vedo he was one of the more Popular RUclips Singers that covered Songs back then
Pure gold!
@@dmac24ism don’t worry, I know Eric and Vedo has been around for a long time. And I had a RUclips cover as well but didn’t know Vedo til a little bit later. They are very talented and passionate about their craft ♥️
@@MariahLashayWay333 perfected worded, Eric finally gets the recognition. I didn’t know he wrote superstar so that is really a full circle moment. ♥️
How is this man's voice still the same it was when he was a teen?? He doesn't age and neither does his voice. Pure and raw talent. Been a fan for over 20 years
GOD gave him his voice
He took care of his self

Anybody else FEEL like this was one of the greatest returns to OG NPR Tiny Desk Concerts!?!? Usher reminded us of his undeniable talent and why NPR tiny desk is one of the purest formats to showcase great music for music lovers!
Yesssss
oh this went by far too quickly
One of my faves. Along with the Big Daddy Kane one
💯💯💯
TinyDesk and COLORS are truly some of, if not the best channels for pure vocals.

Big FACTSSSS!!!!!
Shut up you are broke….
I did the same thing and it was WORTH IT!
I'm gonna do the same, alone. 😂
Good for you!👏🏾👏🏾
All that
The mic on and emotion while serving vocals puts Usher giant steps ahead of others when it comes to his RnB and engages with people knowing they feeling the music too
