  • Yemọja is believed by the Yoruba people as the Ẹbó̩ra (Spirit) in Ómí òdò (Waters/River). Annually, the adherents/Devotees of Yemọja come together to venerate yemọja for blessings. During the Iwure (blessings), some food items like Yam, Kolanut, Bitter and animal(fowl) is seen in the cut are used for ritualistic prayers.
    Adherents and devotees of other imọ́lẹ/Oriṣa like Ọbatala, Ṣango, Ọya, Ọṣun, Ifa/Ọrunmila, Ogun, Eṣu, Egungun join in festivity and celebration. There’s no discrimination of amongst the religious sects as they see each other as one under the big glory of Olodumare.
