The chains of predetermined notions have been broken.
Notions of the past,
Notions of the future no longer can be cultivated by the palm of a stranger.
The hand, given the baton of right
The hand, that can cultivate the future in which we dream
is our very own.
Bracelets that subdued us together
Bracelets that dampened our minds,
Open.
Though we strive to pick apart the pieces of bags left in our trail.
Bags of before, bags of flowers that need to be watered.
These trails of the past are never to negate us,
But to empower us to forge ahead together in unity.
Open.
We are able to move, our ankles are able to stretch.
Our minds are able to stretch
Our opinions are able to stretch
Our speech is able to stretch
The chains have been broken
Oh, the chains have been broken
