Nice. Beekeepers are good people in general per my observation. And teaching kiddos something fascinating just may have captured a few hearts for the future. Good deal.
My kids got fed M&Ms and then chased each other around like wild Indians, while being told 100’s of times to calm down. The other kids were pretty interested. 😂
Fun video. Great job as always, Nathan. Thx for taking time to share this. A great encouragement to consider investing in an observation hive. Now that you used it, curious what you liked about this particular observation hive. I think it would be fun to invest in one as well. Thx again.
I chose this one because it was set up for medium frames. If I were building one to actually keep a colony in full time I think it would need to be substantially larger.
Paying it forward to the next generation of beekeepers; great job!
Thanks Zelma!
Way to go man 👍 you're kid will never forget that. And I bet a few others won't either. Thanks 👍 good health and God bless 👍
Thanks!
Thank you for your comments and for protecting the privacy of other folks' kids. Beautiful observation hive.
Thanks Barry!
Touched my heart.
No wonder Bob let you bother him....

That’s very kind of you, I appreciate it.

Thanks!
Well done, sir! And thanks for including some footage from the school, too. Nice display, and the kids most surely enjoyed the experience.

Very cool experience for the kids!
Thanks!
Nathan, how awesome to get the chance to show kids some bees.
Thanks Rickey. The kids love your hive, they can see more at once.
Good times. Very nice observation hive. Thanks for doing this.
I appreciate it!
That is too cool!!! I work for a school and I’m gonna see if they’d be interested in me doing this too. Thanks a lot!
Thanks, it was fun.
Very well done! Got to wait all the way to the end to see the best pictures. Love it.

Nice seeing the old elementary school gym again if only for a second.
Thanks! Are you a Centerville grad?
@@DuckRiverHoney Yes sir, in 95.
Did you have Coach Moore for PE?
@@DuckRiverHoney Absolutely! That guy was legend
👍
Great video! We have to keep those young ones interested.

It would have been neat if they let you have a drone out they could handle. Either way, I'm sure they had a blast lol
That would have been awesome. Maybe put a few in a queen cage?
👍
👍👍
Thanks Frank!
How did you build the observation hive?
I bought it from Betterbee.
100% cool
Thanks!
Nathan, Where did you get your observation hive that you brought to your sons school. Craig Fr. VA
Craig, I got that one from Betterbee. It was the only one I found that would take medium frames easily.
Why do you put feeder in your hive
The bees couldn’t get out of the observation hive so I wanted to have some syrup to offer them.
My question is why do you put a feeder in your main bee hive
That colony was light coming through late Jan and Feb so I fed them 2:1 to prevent starvation.
@@GODWINHONEY I leave my Feeders in year around they double as drone frames and beetle traps when not full.
Not sure why it took me so long to see this. Awesome video. Did you have any issues with the colony after you returned the bees?
Nope, they did fine
That’s great! Some future beekeepers were made that day.
Thanks!
What are you going to do when one of the children ask to see the KING Bee? Craig Fr. VA.
That discussion would only be for the high school class 😂
Thats awesome maybe you will make a few new future bee keepers. I also hate them sneak attacks on the legg. ❤🐝
Thanks Michael!
