Jordan scored better, and thus he won more games, more scoring titles, more rings, and made more shots when it mattered more efficiently( for playoff altering shots, MJ is 9/18 vs Kobe's 7/25. Putting up more shots doesn't make you better, that makes you a chucker).
Curry's style of play is effective because of his off ball gravity and how much spacing he just provides for the team.
No matter how pretty Kobe's midrange shots look, if it doesn't lead to buckets, and it doesn't lead to winning, then it's just empty stats and highlights material. MJ knew where to take his shots, and he didn't force tough shots all the time by letting Pippen distribute the ball. I'm a regular guy and I played rugby. Rugby has all sizes and shapes, so i'm used to being one of the smaller players on the field at 5'9" and weighing 220lbs. I went to the Hong Kong Sevens tournament and bought a ticket for the Tens tournament the day I landed because I couldn't check into the hotel. As i was walking to my seat Nemani Nadolo was walking towards me, and I promise he blocked out the sun, he was that big.
I played against big dudes, but I said to myself, "the day I have to play against people that big I am giving up rugby." Coz Nemani Nadolo plays wing, and wing is usually one of the fastest players on the field.
Fortunately age was *not* on my side and I started getting lots of small niggling injuries about that time; calf strain, rotator cuff, torn hamstring, broken toe, torn bicep etc so i hung up my boots soon after that.

I wouldnt say backing them down. Luka actually struggles against them but still gets his buckets here and there. Luka is a big mismatch hunter. He'd rather attack your big or smaller guards than take on Kawhi, Lebron, Giannis, etc. Not saying he can't. Just that its a smarter thing to do
