  • The final two movements of Morten Lauridsen's beautiful "Chansons des Roses", "La rose complete" and "Dirait-on". Performed by Reading's Tamesis Chamber Choir and conducted by the choir's founder, Louise Rapple.
    Recorded on Saturday 15th March 2014 at Greyfriars Church, as part of the first concert of the "Flora and Fauna" season.

    These pieces came on the radio just before I had to get in to work so I sat and queitly listend and completely for got for a few minutes that I had to go to work and was at peace. Nice way to start the day. Never heard of Lauridsen or his Rose Complete & Dirait-on.

    For a choir to attempt these 2 movements, the director has first to be absolutely confident that they will maintain pitch in the unaccompanied Rose complete. That takes good technique and musicality. This choir has it in spades - well done to all
