Hey peeps! Sorry this one took a while. I had a week of tech problems and ended up having to edit the entire video twice. Feel free to use any build you like for the first playthrough. I wanted to do a bonky build, but if you want to go for something different, you can use any of my build guides as long as you grab all the same stuff. The NG+ and NG+2 builds are absolutely nuts! Thanks for watching and see you soon for part 2!
@@Smnsnsnsn Poison mist, swarm of flies, any of the frenzy spells, or bonk him through the doorway all work great. Just back up when he spits fire all over.
Same here. My first playthrough not only did the larval tear mob instantly oneshot me, (here is where I learned to level vigor) but the reveal actually scared me. And then I laughed and knew Elden Ring was for me.
Man I'm so glad you've uploaded, just finished a 7 hour drive up to Scotland, can kick back and wind down with this video now! I got my roundtable hold achievement 26th April 2023, and I finished my first play through 6th April 2024 😂(had multiple breaks from the game) but did every achievement, all that's left is the different endings, so gonna use your build guides to bully my way through now to get them!
I already have all trophies, but just now, all of a sudden, I feel like getting them all again, I wonder why? Thanks Thingfishy ;) Great stuff as always.
I'm doing the same thing lol. Except getting everything in one playthrough, every cave, tunnel and catacomb. Just separate endings after. I already got platinum a year or more ago and crawled every inch of the game in 300 hours. The only stat I hadn't done yet is pure strength. I did quality and str faith and st int. And str arcane. So I figured this time I'm going str only
Also, I wish to reiterate how impressed I've been with the production of your videos. The music choices, the editing, the cuts in time with the music cues, the even cadence of your narration and instructions throughout, all of it has just been a steady improvement from one video to the next. You make them a pleasure to watch! Thank you :3
Always remember that Gideon could be worse. He could have a birdcage on his head, make wolf noises, and make you chase him around a library for an hour and a half before oneshotting you with 2 spells
Yeah, that would be awful. Imagine if they put that fight in a game where you take double damage while running too. They'd never do that. Hope you're doing well, G!
Thank you for this great video, Thingfishy! Elden Ring was not just the first Fromsoft game I ever platinum'ed, but the first game I ever platinum'd, period! While that was some time ago, I know this video will no doubt help many others to do the same! Especially if they want to do so before the DLC drops! As another commenter mentioned, I too already have all the trophies, but this video makes me wish I could do them all over again. Felt like a fantastic accomplishment. Hard, but fair!
Another well made and entertaining video, thanks Thingfishy :-) I got a good laugh out of the Limgrave Larval Tear mob part. When I attacked the larval tear dude in my first playthrough, it not only instakilled me, but it also scared the living daylights out of me. I tell people Elden Ring is like a horror game and they laugh, until they play it. I can't wait for part 2!
ThingFishy!! I've been watching (and loving!) your videos for a while now. Your ideas, editing, humor, and production value are all fantastic. And just when I thought I was done making bonk builds... IF I could make one request/suggestion for your leveling guide videos? It would help out a ton following along if there was a small line of text across the bottom (maybe bottom right as it's fairly empty most of the time) showing the current stats at the time? I would find that very helpful especially skimming back through looking for the brief level up screens can be a little annoying. Thanks again for another awesome video! Can't wait for Part 2!!
Love the content Thing! Recently subscriber but Gahd dayum it is the perfect balance between the obscurity of Vaati and informational of a Pokémon guide book 10/10
I botched Seluvis' questline, but for the rest I am still on track, it seems. Thanks for this and your setup- and build videos. They're much appreciated. 👍
Scorpion charm isn't really necessary. Not required for all achievements and the NG+ build is so broken you could easily do without it. Thanks for watching, Frank!
An interesting choice going for the Elden Lord ending the first time, instead of the Ranni ending after you already completed the quest for Ranni Can't wait for Part 2 and 3
Yeah its a little tradition of mine to wait till I know the game pretty well, then do a big adventure with all the most broken stuff. Much more memorable that way i think. Hope you're doing well, Rom!
That next build looks like the ultimate champion against Marika's Golden Order. Using the signature weapons of the 2 conspirators of the Night of the Black Knives, Rykard and Ranni. All wrapped up in the fashion of opposing factions to the Erdtree, the Lucarian Astrologers and the Black-Flame Monks. It may look random, but that build has some really cool lore connections.
Wish I could say that this is exactly what i was going for, instead of just randomly equipping stuff that looked INT-y or Faith-y 😂. Thanks for watching, Tribal
After being inspired by you I tried to parry in this game after being terrible at it in other souls and managed to beat malenia no hit with a parry build after only an hour or so of attempts ❤ think I may have to do a parry run now
I'll admit this here, I got all achieves on PC, then bought the game on Ps5 just so I could do it all again. You're worth it Fromsoft, best games money can buy.
You can pick up the poison incantation crouch behind the fire prelate and poison him to death if you’re low level and concerned about getting smashed 👍
Hey Fishy! Love from New Zealand. I do have one suggestion if its possible. Im not sure if youre setup video locks out storyline content or skips anything, if possible could you add that in? I want to run a setup but also dont want to miss anything like the patches emotes and such. Im sure others have made videos like this, but i just love your content, cheers!
Hey Thinkfishy! Hope you are doing well! Do you have any tips for getting better at fighting DragonLord? Also Could you try a Strength Dex Knight build? Ps i did a Strength Dex Knight build and it was a lot of fun and has become my favorite build :)
Super generous, King. Thank you! For placi its (unfortunately) just mostly running to his back left leg when you can and watching out for the fire breath punish while you get your damage in + doing something safe (chargies for some weapons, R1s for big) between the triple lightning strike attack when he does it. There are little punishes (locking off to hit the hand often etc.) you can do along the way but they don't amount to much and are risky if you don't know the fight that well. You can skip the last 30% of his health bar by running to the back of the arena right before his laser beam attack. I know I did this on the warrior guide, if you don't know the strat. Hope this helps!
Hey man, I was wondering if you could do a strength/arcane playthrough with the Maria’s executioner sword? Seen some people oneshotting bosses ect but I’m just tryna plan the route out and I don’t think I’ve seen you use it in a build. Cheers for the amazing vids btw 🫡🤙🏻
So random that this is EXACTLY what I'm doing right now. 4 to go! Playing an Ancient Dragon incantation with Gransax/Dragon King melee hybrid build and it is fun as hell, one of the easiest playthroughs I've ever had.
Tying up all the loose ends before Shadow of the Erdtree. I really want to use the Dragon Cragblade at some point. Looks fun as hell. Will have to figure out an easy early Placi route. GL on the AA run and thanks for watching!
Fishy, I’m really curious what your personal favorite of your builds are. You said in this vid that a giant hammer is one of your favorites and in the warrior video that you don’t like jump attack builds. What is your standard for a fun build a lot of them devolve into R2 spamming and or stance breaking and to me those are not as fun. Do you like casting at all really? Do you enjoy a nice keen dex build? Do you prefer versatility or just min maxing? You should make a top 10 of your own builds.
Generally the answer is “whatever I haven’t done for a while”. Strength builds and posture breaks are super fun in Elden Ring because you can almost turn it into Sekiro with the posture system and some parrying inbetween. Feel like those kind of builds are the ones most unique to Elden Ring vs the other games. I tend to prefer melee over spells but some of my favourite videos are spell based ones because of how cool the fights look, so trying to figure out strats and make them look as cool as possible becomes the fun bit. If I’m doing a casual long playthrough or first playthrough it’s all about versatility, so I can try everything. If I’m blasting through in a few hours I’ll min/max (a bit) to get the best out of whatever weapon I’m using. A ranking video is on the list before DLC! Thanks for watching.
Fishy help me please. How do you play your gameplay routes? I want to try lot of different builds, but it took me 200h hours to clear as discover everything in ER when it came out. I don’t think I should 100% and kill every boss with all the builds lol I don’t have that time. How do you do to plan what you need to do? Also, how many hours do you have on this game?
You think you could do a build guide for a playthrough as a normal knight? Like no special tricks. Just sword and board (or any other historically accurate knight weapon in the game). The fashion should be of a historical knight. Not like a Godrick knight or anything
Love the content! Unfortunately I'm just not seeing the same damage on this build. I even grinded some runes to grab a few more levels, the hammer at +20 and it's just too slow and too cumbersome for a practical build for most bosses (in my opinion). Though I have copied some of your move sets precisely and it just isn't the same damage (one or two handed). Will keep trying, have never ran a strength build, and definitely want to run the NG+ build you have after this.
