Would a 1/4 Batman Sanity From XM Studios Be FAIR TO COLLECTORS?

- Recently on Facebook the possibility of a 1/4 Batman Sanity came up from XM themselves. This angered some 1/6 collectors, and so we recently discussed on Rogues Gallery Live if this would be fair to collectors. Many seem interested in a quarter scale Batman Sanity, however how much do you think it would go at that scale?? Do you think the design should be changed a little bit to make it different from the 1/6 scale?

I want to see sanity with joker attempting to bludgeon batman with some kind of joker-style mallet or something instead of him reaching down towards batmans chest for a chummy hug.
In my opinion I think its fine if they offer pieces that are not released yet in multiple scales. As an owner of a Sanity that took me alot of effort to get i think that re-releasing it or any other previously released thing takes away from the "limited edition" aspect.
IMO, maybe adding a new character in the 1/4 scale diorama would pacify most people who has concerns about this. If I remember correctly, the Riddler was not in the 1/6 diorama.
A Riddler swapout would make the fans very happy!
If they were going to sculpt another character into it why not just make an intirerly different dio. Wouldn't effect the people that have sanity and also give people that don't have one a chance to get something similar.
If I had to "fix" this piece, I would:
1) Remove Man-Bat and replace him with Bane.
2) Put Killer Croc in Bane's original position.
3) Put Riddler in there.
4) Either put Mad Hatter, Ventriloquist or Ra's al Ghul there too, this would be optional.

If they do this they lose credibility and good will from the community. You can no longer take XM at their word. People will be quicker to snap at them for minor mishaps or mistakes and they will deserve it. Making a quick profit isn't always best for your business. The way I see it they missed their chance to make the sanity a 1/4 scale without any repercussions when they didn't announce it at the same time as the 1/6.
That would be a game changer for sure. Get ya popcorn ready, I suppose. 🍿

Who cares about fairness?! The hobby is about collecting what you like and there’s always new people getting into the hobby that would never get an opportunity to own a popular piece…offering size options is a good thing, and it’s up to collectors what is best for their collection, and wallet, at the time pieces are offered.

@@BatmanStatueCollector Well, I think he is wrong and I am surprised you agree with this statement, Chris. "Who cares about fairness" -- really?! This statue was supposedly a limited edition that cost $3,000. I think it is implicit when you buy a "limited edition" that it will not be reproduced a couple years later, even in a different scale. Words have meaning. Had it been offered in both sizes at the same time, I would have had no problem with that. But I think it is a real kick in the teeth to those who originally bought this. And I do think there is a good chance that it will hurt the resale value of the original. Horrible, short-sighted, greedy decision if XM goes forward with this in my opinion.
I just ordered the 1/6 scale. If it was 1/4 scale with Riddler in the back then I would get that too. They wasted the space in the back and missed an opportunity to add in more characters. That wouldn't even betray the original art. They could even fit in the Scar Face dummy in the back since hes tiny. 😆😆😆

I would buy it and it will be the only batman piece I need on 1/4. Color would be my choice not the smoke color. I hope its color!!!!

I don’t think it’s gonna drive the price down of the original. Reprints have been a thing in comic books and they don’t change the prices.
What it will change is the idea in your mind that you have something so limited and it increases in value in your head.
The 1/6 will always still be sought after.

Is XM looking to do this with the White Knight Batman, but offer a 1/6 scale instead? I feel based on the massive size of the 1/4, they would sell a ton more of the 1/6.
Unknown but I agree I think it would do well!!
I think it good to have something new. But It has to be “NEW”. Same concept but should be different. Otherwise it takes away from the O.G.
I think they should give people what they want but not to take what they already have!
@Eric B Are you saying there will be a Superman Dio from XM aside from the Darkseid Vs JLA?? If so, how can we keep up with info on whether that will be released or not?? Sorry they may do the 1/4 scale sanity. I know that can tick ppl off for sure.
Yes, it was announced/planned by XM a few years back that they were doing the Trinity of Dios. So we have the Batman Sanity, Wonder Woman Courage and next up will be Superman surrounded by his villains. You can either follow the BSC Brother Hood of the bat Facebook group..link is in the description. Or right here on RUclips.. it'll be discussed on Rogue's or Chris will make a video when the time comes.
@@itsericb thanks for the reply bro. Cannot wait to see it when it’s finally revealed. I have the JLA vs Darkseid and would love to add a Superman Dio as well. I’m primarily a Superman Collector but Chris has me liking all these Batman statues also lol.
If they are going to make the piece in 1/4 scale they should alter it in some way to justify the value of it if it's going to be more money and not just because of the size. Eather way it's still overpriced regardless and I will not be able to afford it. Oh well. Let's see what happens.
