The bo is my favourite weapon! It really helps with training for my Shotokan Karate and I am also lucky that my school’s founder, Hirokazu Kanazawa (a student of both Funakoshi and Masatoshi Nakayama) also included Bojutsu in his program. Though, Kanazawa actually created two bo katas that were named after him by his students. Now they’re regarded as “Shotokan bo katas”. Kanazawa encouraged students to keep learning new materials as well. I’m also intrigued to learn and include more bo katas for Shotokan Karate and restore the bo katas that used to be there. Namely, Shushi and Sakugawa no Kon.
aaaah...nope:) Nothing there, I invented Bojutusu- back when I was chasing a bee out of my apartment, I accidentally took my broom and...voilá, a new martial art was born. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
It is one of my favorite weapons
Can’t make that claim yet, as I only know how to use a bo (and a little tonfa)… but I do like it as a weapon, for its simplicity, it’s a stick 😅😁
