- This is the lost tape of Fond My Mind and this is my version of the whole story:
About two weeks ago, some people started contacting me through social media, asking for information about a mysterious and unidentified song. I'm not sure how it got to me, but the story is that this song was performed on a radio in the early 90s. Someone recorded this radio broadcast at the time it was happening and years later published it on the internet.
From then on, a growing group of people, organized on forums such as Discord and Reddit, began to review the internet in search of information about this song. They say the search has been going on for over ten years, and the song could be over 30 years old.
All these people had was the recording of the radio broadcast, where the song appears with the beginning cut off by a transition sound effect. This broadcast was posted on RUclips and the song was called "Fonf My Mind", as no one knew its real title.
By mere coincidence, I had contacted the author of this song back in the late 80s or early 90s, as we are both keyboardists and music producers in the same city. I even went to his studio once, and I remember seeing there a 4-track k7 tape recorder, a Yamaha SY77 synthesizer and another Technics synthesizer, perhaps. And through a mutual friend I got a copy of this mysterious song, which spent 30 years stored in a drawer in my studio until these people started looking for me and asking about it.
The real name of the song is Feels Like a Wish, from a project called Station K. The project was formed by producer Edde Edman, who at the time used the name Edde Walcan (or Valcan, I don't know for sure) and the singer of this song was a guy called André Nóbrega. I don't know if another tape exists with the entire song, uncut, so this might really be the only recording we'll ever see of it.
My name is William Paiva, I have nothing to do with the production of this song, I have no rights to it, but apparently I am the only one who has a complete recording of the song. The decision to release Feels Like a Wish officially rests solely with its author/producer: Edde Edman.
Technical notes:
The tape found is a Sony EF60 K7. The tape deck used was a Tascam Portastudio 424. The tape was digitized through the preamps of a MOTU UltraLite MK5 interface, at 24 bits and 48khz.
The digitized material was submitted to a restoration treatment using Izotope's RX10 Repair Assistant. Some hiss and inconsistencies typical of an old recording on K7 tape still remained as their total removal would cause frequency and dynamic losses in the recorded material.
A little compression and equalization were added in the final stage through the TR5 Mastering Suite, as the recording volume was low and inconsistent.
The original audio tape is preserved.

@@kryspy5160 A guy named Gabor recorded the song while listening a Brazilian radio, but never knew the name, he contacted the radio and searched for himself, to no answers. Then he uploaded in 2011 on the Internet and people started to search the name of the song, to no avail... until December 2023 when William Paiva found the only copy in existence.
This means that 3 of the most popular lost songs got solved in just over a week. That's so totally insane.

I have mixed feelings about that... the cut out was cool because it gave really haunting lostwave vibes to it too but it was frustrating, like if you've been pulled forcibly out of the world the song had just created in your mind.

Honestly, the fact that we could find this song’s true identity gives me hope that we can find the true identity of “Like The Wind”
If this song gets put in front of enough people, someone is likely to know something. Band members, family, friends, associates, potentially gig bookers, retired radio staff, 80’s scene kids of the time, etc are likely all out there and just need to give it a listen.
Honestly I wish Edde and Andre made more music like this together because this song is a total vibe and its got a unique mellow feeling to it that a lot of other freestyle I’ve heard doesn’t.

I always believed in my intuitions that this sound would be of Brazilian origin, I just followed my intuition and dove head first into solving this mystery... I'm very happy to know that this treasure was found, and today the complete version can be heard, proving my theory.
Just like Edde, I am also an artist, and it is regrettable to see that many really thought that such a work of art could not have come from here, and even more so to see that many doubted the authenticity and origin of the music, which is extremely unpleasant, even more so being the Original Author, and knowing that you are telling the truth...

I also always thought it was a Brazilian song too since the beginning because the singing voice is so remarkably a brazilian singing in english , but I doubted Edde because he never provided anything to prove his claim... if it wasn't William I still wouldn't believe him. I got excited when Mr. Edman said he used to be a producer since 1989. I think the world deserves to hear Feel Like A Wish. I was hoping an old DJ, musician, or producer would recognize this song. I was always really worried that this song would never be found given its semi obscurity, and I won't lie, these last few months had been filled with so many ups and downs I had pretty much lost hope; but after reading messages about your involvement with the song and then waking up with the biggest smile on my face after seeing this made me realise this is a fantastic community and the people who make these songs are fantastic people. :)

This is not how it went. You exploded when somebody asked for a little proof. All it could have taken it was just a 5 seconds of the missing intro. You behaved like a child and no, a lot of people will not celebrate you for this. I just feel euphoric and so happy. I don't know... Maybe because finally, it has been found. I am seriously overjoyed by this. I saw a commenter on the other video and he stated that the title is Feels Like A Wish because he said that he's a DJ back then. If we are able to find this song, I have high hopes that the others will be found too.

one month before fond my mind was found, i remember having a dream where my uncle(??idk) played the full version of fond my mind on his radio and I BEGGED HIM for the name and he didn't give it to me for some reason. i begged so hard i was crying. the vocals sounded all distorted kinda like this but a lil more..wonky? and like shaky. i also remember it being black and white and us being in the exact field that the fond my mind "picture" was taken in, just to the side. it's weird. i also remember having it like..EXACTLY A MONTH BEFORE. i don't remember the date but i remember having the dream on the same date the full song was posted. just a month before.
