Hey it's a competition. You cant "assume" you are going to win. Prep for next year and give it 100%. Derek is a great champion

A lot of people don't realize he had a hurricane hit his house and new gym. I'm sure he was sheltered from any news about it to stay focused but I got to believe it was in the back of his mind all week.

Being humble and gracious like he is in this interview aligns with Christian values. If your talking about the health risks involved with Bodybuilding, Every Job has risk, including carpentry, which Jesus was. It’s not like he’s in bodybuilding just to look at himself and admire himself in a vain manor. he’s there to provide for his family and compete and work hard every day. You can see that he’s clinging to Jesus just by watching this interview. Show some grace instead of being so quick to judge bro.

While I don’t agree so much with that Wearing sparkly trunks and taking a load of drugs to have an unnatural body certainly goes against Christian beliefs. But it’s all nonsense anyways ended up leaving the church so I could pursue the same lifestyle and use my body to make money. Nothing Christian about what I’m doing but there are hypocrites all through the church the way I see it. The pastor telling me it’s imodest to take my shirt off was fat which is also a sin, Screw that I want to make my bag too not just stay poor and give 10 percent of my income to the church to make some pastor richer.

As a Andrew fan, im ashamed of some of the things I've said about Derek and Hadi and their heights. I've known for a while that Derek is a legit guy. That he is as genuine as they come, and I respect that man; I just don't like the fans. Anything bad I've said about Derek was really me trying to attack the Negative Derek fans. It's immature, and next year I vow to not engage in that bullshit, because Derek doesn't deserve that energy, and neither does Hadi.

Unfortunately its the fanbase that harps on the negatives more than the positives. But its hard not to because with pros, they have more good than bad.
Im more of an Andrew hater (nothing against the guy personally,just his physique)
And I always say how bad his conditioning is. But unfortunately, thats easier to say than the rest of the line up has better condition. So we are essentially forced to say things like Derek has terrible arm seperation, Andrew has horrible conditioning, etc.

Oh my God, I love this guy and he said it perfectly. He prays to God to use him in whatever way possible whether it’s a champion or not he puts all his faith in Christ and whatever he has in store for him please show me a better person or champion.

Most commenting negatively against Derek are guys who have never accomplished anything in their God-given lives. Would never be willing to put in the work that he has because they are lazy, weak, etc., Therefore, I have so much respect for him for being so gracious and standing for Christ. He’s grown so fast that he hasn’t had time to hammer in the detail and form muscle maturity…he can be back in top if he stays injury free
When muscle maturity sets in and he gets evening right he'll be hard to beat.
Derek is most positive guy I’ve ever seen. Especially in bodybuilding when u reach the top. Sad to see him sobbing but the other 2 guys were pushed themselves so hard that it just overwhelmed derek this year.
I can’t imagine how phil heath felt when he lost for the first time after 7 consecutive victories. Seeing derek just makes me feel sad.

To me this isn’t defeat, your 3rd best built man/bodybuilder in the entire world that’s something none of us will ever do. There’s only 40-60 3rd place olympians in the entire world and only like less then 20 mr Olympia winners in the entire world! This is a gigantic accompaniment he didn’t lose he still winning

Hey Tony, when you interview someone let them speak. Ask condensed questions and allow them the time to talk . Don't interrupt.

I feel this guy has solidified himself as a bodybuilding legend but also feel like he has way more to achieve in this world, way more than the Olympia. His messages speak volumes.

I am not a huge Derek fan, but come on, how can you not like a guy with his attitude. He is emotional, you would be too if you put as much into it as he did. Trust me. Everyone in the stadium gasped when they called his name at 3rd place. Derek is a good dude, hard not to root for him

Has nothing to be ashamed of, it happens. Everyone puts in so much but there can only be one number 1 but I can understand his pain / emotions. Young guy, lots of talent, great guy in many ways with a great family and so much more. He will make it through this.
