    Do you have any idea how high must be pH level before adding SMB? Is it 5 pH?
    I´m having a panic now. I lost my gold in aqua regia, just dissolving it with water + I added hydrazine hydrate 98% solution a bit after all. First occured brownish snot in it what dissolved after 15 min. I tested my AR with SnCl2 after "accident "any sign of gold...
    What do you think, should I correct pH level first (water/HCl) and repeat it again with Hydrazine hydrate 60% or I can use sulfamic acid and try SMB in my AR? It has nice color , clear dark yellow.

  • @1hardman161

    My cons have sulfur, prevents SMB from working. Will this process work? Cons in AR warm, increments nitric and HCl till no reaction, filter rinse, back in pot hot to denox add HCl twice then water, stir in zinc filter precip rinse, dry then take precip put in hot HCl 24 hrs, filter rinse real good, then put precip into nitric/water hot 24 hrs filter and melt with oxy/acet torch. Not worried about silver loss, I am after the gold and pgm's. Zinc drops all metals, then HCl soak and Nitric soak to remove all junk metals, but gold and pgm's. Is this process correct?

    I've gotten some good info from your videos. You explain things well and you go at a nice pace for taking notes. I was excited to try this poor Man's AR method on some concentrates that I have. But I had to laugh at myself when I realized I was just going to end up with a beaker full of white mushy salts. Hopefully you can give me a couple tips and I can try again.
    First, I washed my cons in some HCl thinking this would be a good way to get rid of some base metals - then filter and wash
    Second, I added a couple teaspoons of Sodium Nitrate (Hi-Yield 16-0-0) with about 100ml of HCL - had to heat a bit after an hour because it didn't look like much was happening - then started getting bubbles
    Let sit overnight
    Third, filter into beaker and slowly add Sulfamic to de-NOX - very visible roiling on surface and lots of white gas released. This goes on for a long time.....every time I add another 1/2 teaspoon it takes off again. Finally it calms down and no heavy reaction. It does change color from that deep golden to more of a pale yellow. Pale Yellow salts collecting in the bottom of beaker.
    Fourth, I filter, let set and slowly add SMB. Big reaction with lots of bubbling and fumes. Keeps getting lighter and lighter in color. I think I could keep adding SMB all day. The only thing collecting on the bottom of beakers is light, white fluffy stuff.
    I am going to keep experimenting with different combinations and steps but wanted to ask a knowledgeable person what the obvious mistake is that I'm making.

      It's probably dissolved a lot of copper as well as gold.... Thats where the green colour comes from...... Notice at the end of the video the gold has settled at the bottom and the liquid solution is blue?? It''s blue because of the copper left in the solution.
      It shouldn't affect you too much... Keep going.

      @@94981745 Hopefully you get back to me soon. I have ore thats very heavy in sulfur. I first done AR then zinc, then remove the zinc and got 1 gram of gold from 5 lbs of cons. I was told to do AR, filter, then add copper to the liquid leave sit and the precious metals will precipitate, then take this and go back to AR. I have a white sticking to the pipe looks like calcium. I cant find any help on this and am in the middle of doing this. I understand I need to do this to get the metals away from the sulfur first. Will this way of process work? Thanks

I need to do some electroplating but I definitely don't want to do it in 24k and it would be awesome if it could be done without leveraging an impregnated solution as much as using donor gold as soluble anode because I have the donor gold (and it could become an anode in less than 10 minutes).
    I could make a donation to your Channel or something like that for incentive or be eternally grateful as I'm unemployed and on a very tight budget but I can easily handle a 10 or 20 dollar donation if need be.

    Hello... Thank you very much for producing what appears to be the most practical and economically methods in the fine art of Gold Recovery. Question I have is: May I use Baking Soda to Neutralize this acid solution?

    • @kieranodea771
      @kieranodea771 4 года назад

      If you mean neutralize extra nitric acid before precipitating the gold then no. This will cause base metals to fall out of solution in the form of carbonates and hydroxides and would contaminate your gold. You could try to filter these out then precipitate the gold but this is not advised. If you mean to neutralize the waste solution after any precious metals have been recovered then sure. I usually a good idea to removed all dissolved metals before dumping out any waste solution.

    • @kieranodea771
      @kieranodea771 4 года назад

      Also to precipitate gold with sodium metabisulfite you need HCL in the solution. SMB reacts with hydrochloric acid to make SO2 gas, this gas is what then causes gold to precipitate out. As baking soda will neutralize both hydrochloric acid and nitric acid it can't be used to neutralize extra nitric acid present before dropping out gold.
