Thanks so much for the info. My front drivers door smart key button did not work. Bought a new handle. Swapped the cover from old to new and voila. It works now!! The 2013 Hyundai Elantra GT has a small screw in the back to take off. Need a small torx screwdriver. T6 I believe it was. It only held on with screw and small tabs on left and right side of handle. 😊😊
Helps big time, thank you.. if anyone see this video and my comment need to do the same thing with exterior handle of kia Sportage MK4, it is the same deal but the builtin clippers are on the sides of the handle not on the tip, and try to use a plastic tool to pop it open because metal can hurt the handle
I hope this will help people fixing their external car door handles that have keyless entry buttons. Better than throwing them in the trash and you can save time and money. 1/4" chisel does the trick.
I have a Kia sportage 2016 gt line and was facing the same issue trying to replace a broken button just removed two star screws and popped it open (from the button side) just the way you did and it was really easy thanks to you =)
