Great video! I have a G310GS and keep hearing that it's not a proper off road bike, not a real GS, etc. Sure, it's not dual sport, but I'm old so I don't ride hard, either on road or off road. The G310GS is nearly ideal for my uses. Because it's lightweight, I think it's a better off road bike than the mid size or full size GS bikes. I wish BMW offered a G310GS Adventure version with a 5 gallon fuel tank, tubeless spoke wheels, an aluminum bash plate, engine protection bars, larger and more aggressive pegs, and fully adjustable suspension front and rear. Those upgrades would cost BMW less than $400 and I'd pay $2000 more for that bike. Bike manufacturers, not just BMW, look at their small ADV bikes as beginner bikes. They use them to get new customers on the upgrade path to their mid size and full size ADV bikes. Older riders typically have more discretionary income and are buying smaller bikes because they have trouble handling and lifting larger bikes. Unfortunately, the marketing department doesn't want to admit that lighter is better off road, so they won't sell full featured lightweight ADV bikes because most people wouldn't buy their more expensive larger bikes. That's why smaller ADV bikes are built to a budget and are stripped of premium features. The companies would rather sell someone their first bike, that leads to their second and third. They aren't interested in selling old riders their last bike, so they miss the opportunity to make an R1300GS Adventure profit margin on a G310GS Adventure.
Fantastic. Doesn’t matter if you feel like you’re good or not. As long as you’re having fun who cares! I take twice as long as anyone on the trails but I’m happy!
I bought a G310GS almost three years ago and a friend just bought a CRF300L Rally a couple of weeks ago, so this may be a preview of coming attractions for us. Apparently, it rains a lot in your green and pleasant land. 😀
As bad as I felt for you boys on the long downhill section with baby head rocks, I felt worse for the guys you met who did the same route uphill. Thanks for the great content. I'm an old guy with a G310GS and these videos are aspirational.
What bloody rainy conditions up there. To be frankly, i rather enjoy watching your adventures than stick myself in the mud or stumbling over wet rocks ;-) thanks for sharing :-)
Keep'em coming please. We need more videos from you guys. Oh, by the way, that is one of the reasons we don't use metal top boxes when riding off road. Cheers
Hi guys, i will be doing the welsh section of the tet in two weeks on a 2002 transalp, would love a tire suggestion please, great videos by the way, great to see you boys out enjoying these awesome trails
Just joined, started watching your videos this morning. You’re preview of the next video of the top box spewing its contents out made me do likewise with my coffee, all over my pants and the laptop on my lap! 😅
Love ...it ....as a hint the downhill looks like lovely lovely training for tet Portugal maybe minus the rain and more heat exhaustion....I look forward to the crash bar testing ....done a bit of that recently on the AT rd04..🤔😝
Can't wait for the top box special :) Easy to say just sat here but believe me on those rocky descents momentum is your friend, trickling along makes it worse.
Hi. I own a CRF 230F and also a G310 GS. In my opinion, CRF is the byke for this kind of roads showed into the video. The GS is for an smooth off road maximum. This 2 bikes have different focus of use. Both are nice of course. Best regards.
Simply always a joy to watch. Inspired view on motorcycling and I love the relaxed vibe, being a difficult journey or not. When there's a pint at the end of it, it's worth it.
ha ha to the top box, only i did at the weekend on one my offs with the tank bag, i was taking some picks and forgot to zip it up and off cause it all went in the shite not the dry bit
If your buddy is providing you with the entertainment of his top box spitting up all it's contents, the least you could do is make sure you run over said contents.
Personally, I think I prefer the Honda, it suits me better - We dont like the seat on the BM and it stalls A LOT! But, it's still a good bike and gets the job done, thanks :D
I know I am definitely old now. Used to be my skills would hold me back. But now my body could not take that beating. And, who the heck takes the time to watch this and then gives it a thumbs down. I thought it was brilliant...

Good points! :D Cheers!
You crack me up, the narrating is great!
Thanks Mike, much appreciated :D Cheers for watching!

Yup! We call it 'liquid sunshine' !
Brilliant! I recognised the river crossing in the intro, got stuck there myself 😕
Yeah, its a real pain! ha ha!! Cheers for watching :D
Isnt it dangerous to put the engine under water like they did?
Always look forward to your stuff, thanks again.

Yeah! Uphill must have been a nightmare!!! Cheers :D
To be honest I sooner do it uphill, always waiting to lose the front going down. Maybe its bad technique from me?
@@davidhardstaff8110 Yeah, I can see your point - My rear brake is shockingly bad so had to feather front - not the best idea! Cheers :D
"Giving it a go".... I love that. Probably because I'm trying to give it a go myself. Great video, thanks!
Thanks for watching :D
Wonderful absolutely wonderful.... Stay healthy 🥃
those rocks! like the wee shot of you and Steve riding together, what fun. 😁

Thanks Rokas :D

great video and I love your sense of humor.
I love it. I want to join you two on this awesome ride! Great video !
Careful what you wish for LOL!
The top box flying open at the end, I would’ve crashed from laughing so hard 😂
it looked like a lego character dying
And have you seen the size of the damn thing!!! Soooo funny :D

Anakee wilds pretty good on road and dirt if not too sloppy, Dunlop D952’s brilliant in the mud but awful on road 👍 have fun!
Marvellous. Thanks. 😀🍷

Yeah! Harder than it looked and we were knackered at the time after a full day on the trails - fun mind! :D Cheers 'Top Box Special" love it!
The voice of experience
Me and my mate are doing our adventure soon, bloody fabulous isn't it. Keep up the good work, love the video's,cheers.

Bear in mind this 310GS is a Rally Raid special, completely changes the handling characteristics
@@dstev55 yes absolutely! Rally Raid did a great job, due the G310 GS is a normal bike for normal roads. Not Enduro.
I love this channel! Superb content, narrating and video mate!
Simply always a joy to watch. Inspired view on motorcycling and I love the relaxed vibe, being a difficult journey or not. When there's a pint at the end of it, it's worth it.
And it might seem funny, but I'd like to ge through the same trouble. Looking forward for the Africa Twin and the crashbar test.
Cheers hope you enjoyed the new vid! All the best :D
I certainly did!
ha ha to the top box, only i did at the weekend on one my offs with the tank bag, i was taking some picks and forgot to zip it up and off cause it all went in the shite not the dry bit
Ha ha! yeah, bit of a disaster that one! 😂
Absolutely love your videos. I’ve just bought a crf250l standard model. Can’t wait to get off-road. Keep up the good work !
Cheers David, much appreciated 👍 have fun on your CRF they’re great!
@@Motoeuro I had a T7 . Great until you have to pick up 200kg
.
@@mangomears1 wise words, that’s what puts me off the big stuff 😬
I really love this, so much fun lol
Thanks for the video, really enjoyed it. I’m picking my bike soon in Cumbria, could you give any of the locations to give a try? Thanks!
Hi Anthony, downloed the TET GPS route and drop it into ViewRanger - Dont go on your own! Or walk the trail first, at times you cannot turn around!
Always enjoy your content, great job! The drive by shots add a lot, I need to start doing more of those. Looking forward to the next one.
Lol. If I could give two thumbs up I would. Already looking forward to the next installment mate.
Nice trails ,less weight mor fun.
That little bmw almost said ' Steve get of my back so I can finish the ride on my own' 🤣
I feel sorry for the little bmw...
Awesome! You should organise a ride with some of your followers, I'd be game to come with you guys
Now that's and idea! Cheers :D
Feels like I'm watching an episode of Peppa Pig with the voice over
Love your vids, inspiration to all us newer off road riders, you say what we feel!!! :-)
Great stuff lads! My latest video is same stuff in reverse.. I feel your pain!
Cheers :D will check it out!
If your buddy is providing you with the entertainment of his top box spitting up all it's contents, the least you could do is make sure you run over said contents.
Ha ha! Almost! They were wrecked anyway when we picked them up :(
The Code..
Have you tried growacett cross training enduro recommendation 🤣😂👍
That's when you want an enduro on knoblies and not a dual sport. Then you get to road or flat gravel and want the reverse
How does the 310 compare to the CRF on road 🤔
Personally, I think I prefer the Honda, it suits me better - We dont like the seat on the BM and it stalls A LOT! But, it's still a good bike and gets the job done, thanks :D
Are the spoked wheels standard on the GS?
@@mickmacmanno, the bike on this video has loads of Rally Raid extras including the wheels
Quality, again.
Good times
go watch ... dan skeats ok no funding or fancy cameras or holywood crap just out there doing it . respect !!!!!
Looks like a great laugh. What tyres did you fit to your CRF? The stock ones let me down at the weekend. (Or maybe it’s just me looking for excuses)
Stock rubber is dredful - Ive got Anakee Wilds, not perfect but OK in the dry :D

Thanks so much Dennis 👍👍👍
Hey buddy, can I ask what jacket your wearing please?
It looks like Dainese D Explorer. Cheers!
@@rfk76 Sure is! Its the first one, discontinued now, but you can get them on-line :D Cheers!
watch a guy called dan skeats !!!!! no hollywood cameras etc etc
Get a quad mate 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Pick a line and plow through. Ride worse power lines all the time.
