Thanks! I have great value for your videos. Always thorough, efficient and informative. So much so that I look to see if you have a review from the past of a RC I am considering. Been out of the hobby since 2006 and just bought my first Xmaxx last week after buying the XRT in August. The year 2023 was a rough year for me having lost both of my parents. RC takes me to a good space. Thanks for the tips and unbiased advice and information. Rare in RC today. GOD BLESS💪🏾
The bottom of the XRT chassis has an opening under the spur; I guess to allow small rocks and other debris to exit before damage to the spur and pinion would occur. Would it be practical to cut similar holes in the bottom of an XMaxx chassis? Or would the potential water seepage do more harm than good?
OK, Earl now hold up a second my brotha. Just today when i went to my local hobby shop after work to purchase a heavy diff gear and pinion gear for my Xmaxx, one of the shop managers and myself got to talking about new releases. And guess what he told me with a smile on his face after i mentioned Traxxas has to respond to Arrma with an updated Xmaxx? He told me with little detail that Traxxas is GOING TO BE RELEASING a new Xmaxx and possibly an XRT soon. This is why i tell people to be patient.
I really hope your guy is right on the new release. Right now I'd pick the exb outcast V2 over the xmaxx, but a new release of the xmaxx from Traxxas would be killer. Heavy duty arms should be stock, steel gears, along with xrt hubs/casters. Maybe a more powerful motor. I'm thinking a "pro" model or something. I'm hype, I hope you're right.
I remembered this video when I purchased my first XMaxx last week.. I decided to get the regular one in the orange color and it was packaged like my XRT was. Wheels off and separately packaged.
Watch the new Kevin talbot outcast v2 video he busted it usual place the arms etc and it was game over great truck the outcast but same old problems ….the xmaxx has plenty of issues as well
@@tonytravers5122 I watched that. He also loaded it up with m2c parts and made the whole thing a lot heavier before purposely destroying it lol. He's the only person I've seen break an arm on the new one. Just seemed to me he wanted to make the truck heavier and not stock before going against a stock xmaxx. Everyone wanted to see stock vs stock. Oh and the xmaxx didn't take nearly the same hit like the outcast, it took a nose hit, the exact same nose hit the outcast survived the previous video. Gotta say I was pretty disappointed in that video as far as an actual comparison, but he knows what he's doing comparing stock xmaxx to a $1600 m2c'd outcast. If the xmaxx broke before the outcast it would've been because the outcast was all beefed up. I love his videos, and I'm not an arrma fan boy, but It's pretty obvious he created a win-win scenario for the xmaxx.
Interesting with the roof slide. My solar flare Xmaxx didn’t have one out of the box either, so I had to add it. When I bought a new solar flare body this year it came with it.
Cool, I used to have a rock n roll X-Maxx a couple of years ago but i traded for a V1 Widemaxx i regretted it so i ended up trading my Sledge for another X-Maxx a used and abused red one but i plan to make it into a rock n roll X-Maxx with blue parts. I have a Max 6 G1, a radiolink RC8X radio system and Proline MX43 tires since i tore one of my stock tires although i had to regear the truck to run the new tire but it runs cool and great.
My 8s stock esc went out on day 26 when I tried the roll over feature it started flashing but luckily they sent a free replacement and I sold it for almost the price of a max6 and got that instead
The "newest" x-maxxs ship in a smaller box with the tires not installed. I only know this because when I picked mine a week ago they had 2 different size boxes so the store called traxxas and they confirmed smaller box is the latest.
So cool it's Bluetooth enabled from Traxxas, a good local hobby shop will help with some warranty if needed. I just picked up another Xmaxx but it's the snap on tool truck, so won't be getting used, got for a display..just something cool.... enjoy your new Xmaxx!!!!
@@earlmoorhead5555 I don't think so. My new two week old XRT came with that same sticker on the controller. It is deceptively written. The blue light for the module, if equipped, would be located under the sticker about where it says "iPad" with the connect button under the sticker where it says "iPod touch". I removed the sticker and the cover plate and replaced them with my $35 link module. I have yet to remove all the residue sticker glue. I mostly use the XRT for small jumps and to exercise the border collie. She runs with it and tries to herd the thing.
I made sure the xmaxx was ordered in from traxxas just showed up 🤷🏻♂️and has blue tooth so it has to be the latest version but I’ll call traxxas to verify
Spray wd40 on all Traxxas plastic to make it last forever. I have been doing it 3 years on my xmaxx. Haven't broken anything since. I hose my xmaxx then blow dry, then coat it in wd40.
The upper bulkhead break without you knowing is the only thing I’ve broken over many years I used to do wd40 but realized the plastic became real flexible to where the whole rc felt sloppy I switched to plastic restorations from 3D it seems to keep the stock oils in the plastic and looking new 👌after I added the bulkhead rear support mod no more bulk head breakages on big air jumps for $10.00 was worth the mod 💪👍
Great looking 👀 truck love your videos Would like to make a suggestion More lighting would really help It looks like incandescent lighting You need something brighter. It would really make a huge difference
Exact one I have it is still stupid the flagship doesnt have a roof guard I complained to Traxass like they cared but at least the XRT has one. I havent had much of a problem out of mine in 2 years or so I rebuilt 1 shock started leaking. The back of the body like you said still crushes definetly shoe goo it
Love traxxas I have xmaxx and xrt but they better come out hard!!!because I made the switch to ARRMA kraton & outcast 8s EXB I pick up wow 🔥 they came out hard fun tuff cars bash u can beyond bash !!!!
Did you actually OPEN the TQi radio, and SEE the Link Bluetooth module? Asking because, in all other vehicles having the TQi radio, they all come with the same "Link Enabled" sticker, but they don't come work the Link. Typically, "Link Enabled" simply means you can purchase/install a Link module. I could be wrong...but, as far as I'm aware, only 'Ultimate' models come with the Link module installed. In looking as the "parts" list for the new X-MAXX, it indicates the Link is NOT included...it is optional. Easiest way to tell with all Traxxas vehicles it's to look at the 'parts' list - "included" parts are in normal print, while "optional" parts are in bold print.
I love how so many people voluntarily post how they hate this or that. The Xmaxx has dominated for years and it much hated. Arrma is a different kind of RC. Senseless to compare the two. Been a traxxas guy since 06. Hate the negative BS in RC. Reminds me of 12 year olds. Some of us just want tk see unbiased reviews and make our own minds up, end of story.. Never had an issue with anything that has failed or was damaged even after I ran the trucks.
I don’t understand what the issue is with the traxxas connectors , I’ve never had any issues and They don’t come unplugged like some others in a hard crash 🤷🏻♂️ as far as RC Guy Garage and traxxas goes I’d never use his thoughts on traxxas as a reason to or not to buy a traxxas he’s anti traxxas and will never give a real review he could have the exact same issues or more with an Arrma and still say it’s the best RC out there just like pretty much every other Arrma fan boy they all have issues and I own or have owned everything out there and none are perfect by any means Your reviews Earl are by far the best cause your honest about it no matter what brand you always mention the good and the bad keep up the great content 🤘🏼
Also, for me personally, i would never buy an Xmaxx new, there are just too many parts you have to swap out, it's your money though lol. I traded a guy on the marketplace for one that already had a Castle Mamba system in it. I rebuilt 75% of it so far including adding the 100.00 heavy-duty servo. I'm 400 dollars in right now lol. I will never recommend a brand new Xmaxx to anyone, getting one secondhand that has been taken care of, modded/upgraded has far more value IMO.
Actually not true exactly. I have over 35 vehicles and the XMAXX has only needed the plastic hub in the rear. And the new upgraded hub s come with oversized bearings. The only other thing is the hinge pins need the retainers and you can do that with .03 cent washers from Home Depot. Trust me I bash the crap out of this without trying to kill it and it holds up. My horizon hobby truck needs driver train parts at least yearly.
Love my Xmaxx I have the same version In orange 😊 also I have a question, will the system overheat if I run the truck on the optional spur gear with the stock fans?
Link enabled does NOT mean it has the link system! It’s just a sticker saying you CAN install it!😎
Thanks!
Thanks for supporting 💯🙏

Why did you go buy another one bro? awe man, talk about bad timing lol.
it blows my mind you got rid of 3 rcs to get that, but I do understand. Can't wait to see what ya do w it. Have fun

I have the V2 outcast and imo it is way better. Let's see if traxxas is willing to make substantial changes to the xamxx.
I remembered this video when I purchased my first XMaxx last week.. I decided to get the regular one in the orange color and it was packaged like my XRT was. Wheels off and separately packaged.
Mine too. 2 wheels in one bag. Styrofoam ends.
Outcast 8s EXB v2 ia the king in this segment!!!!

same here. never got one 16 months ago. like wtf?!
and why?

14:21 They don’t have the new belted tires from the Ultimate ?
Any way to come up with a plastic square to glue in the back. Try make it last

This version has been out for a while. I got this exact version in June of 2022.
Can’t wait to find out Earl… been keeping up with this whole debacle 😳
I dont think the xmaxx actually comes with the Bluetooth module installed ...i believe we still have to buy that separate...
It in the controller unless they gave it to me by mistake I know the XRT come with it and it’s definitely in there with the blue light 😯

For me still the best rtr Monstertruck rc !!
Seems like you picked not the newest. Mine came with roof skids, two years ago.
I made sure the xmaxx was ordered in from traxxas just showed up 🤷🏻♂️and has blue tooth so it has to be the latest version but I’ll call traxxas to verify
Never driven an XMaxx and I’m pretty sure that’s a good thing, because I know if I did I’d end up buying one!…
Would love to see everything you modified on this xmaxx especially the bulkhead upgrade

Hot racing just released some good new upgrades recently , wobble driveshaft etc.
I don’t think this is the latest version as the newer version ships the tyres uninstalled and comes with belted tyres.

The new xmaxxes from kevin talbot and spare parts were easier to break than the old xmaxx.
That’s what a lot of ppl are saying 😯
