  • In this video we tried fishing with only live bait to see how it would result. Is it what you buggers expected?
    I like to keep things simple... Really simple, like having an open live well that's easily accessible or a circle hook you can trust without failure or an underwater camera that doesn't hide secrets & get's all the good action shots.
    Keep it simple buggers!

    Lekker man! I know the vid is a few months old, but congratulations on the skipjack. Fishing with live bait is the standard method for tuna, dorado, etc here on the Natal coast. Interesting to see the guys fishing with lures there had better success. Love your vids bru!

      Yo howsit Michael
      Yeah hard bait is often a mission to get here and lures are more preferred as we cover ground quickly.
      Sometimes we cover between 20 and 35km a fishing trip. 😅
      Thanks for the support ya Legend! 🥳🤙

    Weird one but I taught long time ago to keep a small hook file/sharpener close something to touch up hook points been riding in the box may have dulled, or corrosion might get em?? Easy to make sure they are “sticky” sharp. Ones I get are 10cm? Not bulky or anything; Keep in the life vest, kinda like checking leader for abrasions and such. Especially trolling rigs - cheers man - ya got me waiting til the 12th man??? Suspenseful

      Hey bud
      Yeah so that's a good thing to check but I was my gear through and through. My hooks barely corrode but when they start to I just change em out.
      The hooks I use barely go dull and when they do they are literally rusting to pieces after 6 or so months of use. 😁👍
      Hahahaha yeah the wait is worth it bugger! 😎👍

    Awesome video man! Been watching your videos all day while I study. Definitely more watching than studying going on though 😂 have definitely learnt a lot though 🙌
    Been dying to hook up my first tail or Bonnie this summer! You seem to do it with such ease, but I know it's not always as easy as it a appears on video lol!
    Just out of curiosity what does one need to fish in cape point? From what I've heard it's more of a hassel to get onto the water there than hooking up😂
    Shot again for the lekker vids bud! Keep then coming so that I don't have to re-watch all of your videos weekly🤣

    • @CptGingerbeardKayakFishing
      @CptGingerbeardKayakFishing  3 года назад

      Yo wazzup Adam!
      Thanks for the wicked support!
      Yeah I don't always show the dark side of kayak fishing. 😂😅
      There's a lot of kilometres paddled between fish.
      But you'll learn to love the paddle pretty quick bugger!
      Okay so with Cape Point you can get a My Activity permit (Level 3) otherwise you will pay R180 each time you enter the gates which can add up fast.
      So check out the tourism offices by Tokai etc. They usually have them and it goes quick.
      But good luck bud! Hopefully you get some fish pronto!
      Cheers bugger!
      Cpt G
      Ps. Keep your nose in the books! Else you'll be making kayak fishing videos for the rest of your days. 😅😂

    I noticed a lot of people use the orka inner. Any reason why you chose the orka legent. Does it grab better in the water? Thanks for the vid, .

    • @CptGingerbeardKayakFishing
      @CptGingerbeardKayakFishing  8 месяцев назад

      For me it felt 'stronger' and was decent. Havent tried the Inner yet. But knowing kayakers, the Inner might have just been a cheaper option?
