I feel like they had a great plan but the old adage of “no battle plan survives first contact with the enemy” very much applies. Definitely check out the sequel. It’s worth it.
Good movie. Also pissed me off....like, did he not expect the kid to grab the batteries and be a kid? Where did all the sand come from for the trail? Why not just live near the waterfall where it is loud already? So many questions
because living in a house is more comfy than living outdoors on a field in a tent and building a house makes noise. i also bet it would be quite hard to live close enough to the waterfall so that it would actually cancel out the other noises.. after all they were right beneath the waterfall to make it work and not just 200 meters next to it... also you can buy sand at every halfway decent hardware store.. so let's just assume they had one in their town and could even get it for free since everyone else is dead

When I was pregnant with my first son in 1983 an older friend of my sisters sat me down to tell me her position on parenting. I adhere to it this day.
She said that someday your kids lives could, and probably will, depend on, whether or not they listen to you. If they are running from you and a car is coming, you need the ability to stop them in their tracks. Not out of fear, but trust and boundaries.
I’ve never forgotten that and I raised my kids in a manner that kept folks from saying”here she comes with those damned rotten kids”. Well, mostly, I hope.
This is why I reserve yelling for emergencies. If you're known as the mom who never yells, when you have to yell, people listen up.

They seem more unprepared for the baby because she gave birth almost a month before the predicted due date.
But yeah I cried the first time I saw this movie when he screamed to save his kids.

Oh. No, there _is A Quiet Place 2,_ but it's a _prequel,_ so yes, John Krasinski's in it.
But it may interest you to know that the same year _this_ movie came out, there was a horror flick called _Bird Box._ It's very similar horror that ends with a _similar_ twist.
