I used to weigh 305lbs and now weigh 168lbs. These people are 100% lying to themselves. I had given up and thought I’d be fat forever and one day realized I didn’t just give up on losing weight but I’d given up on myself. I hope they take some responsibility for themselves and realize that their health when they get older will be important before it’s too late. A heart attack doesn’t care if you love yourself the way you are.

Very nice congrats ! Seeing many people over the years and many college fotos and 10 years after, most people will stay overweight all their life
And this while looking in the mirror and wishing they would be skinnier every day. It's just the fact that being less weight, moving around is SO much easier.

      its impossible
you need support systems like people that are positive
they need to only have healthy foods promoted
essentially they have to find some way to cope with their reality in contrast with the social reality
no offense but you got people like Greek who gets skinny and realizes social andys scammed the f*ck out of him and now he realizes the point of being skinnier isn't a better lifestyle. You still can't be sure of women, you still can't be sure of success, you have less than what you had with no substitute.
Its a loss loss because society is like that spoiled brat that wants something then 5 min later they are crying about another thing they want.

@@crowmaster9652 I keep seeing your dumbass comments and you seem to believe that the only way a person can go from fat to skinny is by the grace of god, and that when people are fat it is due to them being genetically unlucky. That is so fucking stupid. First, no one (without some form of a disease, the 1% of the 1%), is predisposed to being obese. Maybe slightly overweight, but not obese. It is unnatural to be obese so ofc the body is not predisposed to it. Having a slower metabolism means that gaining weight is easier and losing weight is harder but it doesn’t mean that you will become fat. People need to be more conscious about their dieting choices as well as their exercise choices. Second, there is an unfortunate subset of the population with eating disorders, who actually do have an a excuse to be fat. The best thing we can do is support these people, try to treat their disorder, and bring them back to a healthy body. Third, being obese does not mean that you should hate your body, or that you are any less human. However, that is not an excuse to love your body the way it is, love your body for being yours, and make it better by treating it well. Fourth, stop the blame game, anyone can lose weight, though for some it will be harder, for some it will be easier but such is life, and you have to push through. If you refuse to put in the work, then you should not be bitching about anything related to this subject. Have a nice day everyone, no hate intended in this message of mine :)

If a fat person decided their lifestyle was going to become dancing or any form of exercise for a living, I guarantee they would lose that weight. Its crazy to say that dancers get to do that stuff ONLY because they are attractive. Like no, that's part of it sure, but they are attractive because they dance not the other way around. 1:00 " 'Fat' has been a derogatory thing..." Yeah, and why do you think that is?... Cause it's unattractive. 80% of people or more don't want to be or be with someone that is obese. Even obese people would rather have a partner of a healthy weight the overwhelming majority of the time.
"I wanna take that back and make it a positive thing." How?... 🤨 Fat people cringe at the word fat because they think about themselves. They're remind that they don't want to be the size they are, get the looks they get, and feel the way they do physically and emotionally. So they don't want to hear the word at all. They spend a lot of time ignoring that they're gaining weight so they don't have to do anything about it and hearing the word "fat" snaps them back. If they were at a healthy weight the word "fat" wouldn't even matter to them. All of this comes from their own insecurities.
Even if they somehow twisted the word to mean something else they still wouldn't like the word

    - its still a concious decision to change. Just because it is a coping mechanism does not mean it is a good coping mechanism. People will recognise their faults and change. Thats the beauty of humanity
    - - - priveleges? They are literally just able to do more things because they are healthy
    - Yeah, people are dicks. But like you said we should just care about our own opinion. However we should consider the thoughts of others. They arent useless.

I don't support the celebration of obesity but also don't think it should be shit on if someone chooses that lifestyle. Obviously it's not healthy and promotes a terrible lifestyle but it's a self choice to lose weight. You telling someone that they should lost weight won't get them to actually do it unless they, themselves choose to.
For 12 years of my life i was obese (extremely obese in highschool-- about 260 pounds), I've lost 100 pounds since highschool (went from 260 to 160) and have never felt better health wise. Decided to lose weight on my own terms and didn't care about what anyone else thought (even though I was harshly bullied for being obese)-- however, I will say that I've definetly been treated far better now then I ever was when I was larger. So I'm glad I made the choice to lose weight on my own. It's not that I was self conscious when I was fat, and thought people were judging me more than now-- but literally I get treated far better within different environments (like a waterpark, beach, gym, etc) as well as in social interactions (at a party, in a classroom, etc). Honestly it sometimes weighs on my mind because it feels sort of like I'm a different person now, obviously it's true in some form but not much has changed other than my physical looks, meanwhile I'm the same in personality and thought. Not to sound like a douche but the best way I can describe this feeling is to the reading "Allegory of the cave" by Plato. Just sharing my side homies xqcL
Also an update to those that care-- I currently weigh 190 at the moment, because when I was 160, I was Bulimic and was often called scrawny a large amount because of my frame-- so I kept eating healthy while stopping toxic habits I developed (starving myself, bulimia, etc) and have hit the gym consistently since with some hiccups here and there. I've seen from both sides of the coin in a way and very much blame myself for both the rise to extreme obesity and the fall to scrawny.

I think people are seriously misunderstanding what the phrase "love your body" means. While it does mean you should be grateful for what you have, no matter *what* you have, and while I totally agree with that, it's also very important to realize that love means action, it's not just a feeling. To love is to care for, and if you really love your body, you should be taking care of it to make sure it is healthy.

  • @dub7122
    @dub7122 2 года назад +3

My honest take on this whole subject is basically; Obesity is by all means a negative aspect of one's body... It's unhealthy, it's unnattractive and it greatly affects your life for the worse. It should in no way, shape or form be celebrated or promoted as a positive thing. If you're ok with being obese and don't mind it then good on you. But please do not go out there and say that being obese and/or fat is a good thing, or attack people for pointing out the truth that being obese isn't a good thing.
Edit: On the other hand people who go out of their way to insult and/or bully people for their body is are a terrible thing. Weight loss is something extremely difficult and for those who struggle with it there is nothing more painful than having salt poured on their wounds. You should aspire people to succeed and to achieve their goals rather than to shit on their fragile sense of confidence and self esteem.
