    Thanks for the video! It helped me replace one of my vent windows on my Sprinter which had broken. The process is the same, just a different version of the window. Yours was by far the best video for doing this which I was able to find! Again, thank you!

    Amazing! Thank you for making this tutorial. I was hoping someone had a solution to this and you shared it perfectly. Definitely going to do this, like tomorrow!

    outstanding video! May have helped me...2018 Promaster and that same window by CR doesn't seem to close and tighten all the way. bought it in about 2019 and have maybe opened it 5 times...oddly, the handle feels like it is stripped but zi am positive I never applied that much torque to strip it. therefore I am thinking there must be an adjustment I can make - similar to what you did in your video. Too bad I am in Florida!

      Thanks for the comment. I imagine it would be really hard to strip the gear in there. It's really beefy. I'd call CRL and have them send you a new gear box. I feel like you might have something else going on in there... Either way, let us know what you find out and how it goes.

    Great, concise video. Thank you! Dumb question: The window I got from CRL has about six small, grey plastic clips on the edge of the window. Do I remove them before the installation or are they necessary "spacers" to keep the window from resting directly on the metal of the cutout?

    • @LevityVans
      @LevityVans  3 года назад

      So sorry for the delay in my response. I imagine your window is installed already. To answer the question though, the gray spacers help to align the window and they do keep it from resting on the metal. However, I've removed them before to help get the window in a tightly cut hole, and then moved the window up slightly before screwing it in. This will also keep it from resting on the metal. I don't think it's an issue that it rests on the metal, however, when the vehicle is moving around a lot, there is a potential for it to rub against the metal causing the paint to rub off which could cause future rust issues.

    Very much appreciate the video, as I do with all your vids! I definitely have that issue on one of my CRL t-vents for Transit driver-side. Have not installed yet, but hole is cut. Have tried what I can to have it replaced by Van Windows Direct, but like the manufacture they are calling it an "uneven" issue. "Uneven"?! the window does not close or open properly...sooo disappointing. My question, do you think this (brilliant) fix will also help the window close & seal better? There is a gap when closed and only opens a couple of inches. Many Thanks!

    Good video! Helpful! Any idea why they are done different on the Transit windows? Does the grinding on that bar make that bar/rod weaken it?

    • @LevityVans
      @LevityVans  3 года назад +1

      Hey Jeff. I have no idea why this is happening but it's only on the Transit vans and a manager a CRL told me that there were several windows assembled with a defective torsion bar. After receiving 4 windows as warranty replacements, all defective, I was determined to fix my customers issue so I took the matter into my own hands. As far as I can tell, doing this modification does not weaken it. And, so this at your own risk. Or bring it to me and I'm happy to fix it for you.

    Great vid! Do you have a solution for a tvent window that doesn't sit flush with the rest of the window, when fully cranked closed?

    • @LevityVans
      @LevityVans  3 года назад +2

      Hey Kevin. Thanks for the comment. I don't have a solution at the moment but if you want to email me a picture, I may be able to see what's going on. Does the crank just tighten up before the window is fully seated? Is this also on a Transit van? Feel free to message back here to help the community learn and also send an email to Jimmy@levityvans.com with a picture and I'll see what I can do to help you. Cheers.

      @@LevityVans yes, the crank is fully tightened before the window is closed. There’s about a 1/2” gap and it’s very noticeable! I’m about to install a tvent window on the sliding door of a ProMaster, but I’m wondering if this window needs to be returned. I didn’t notice it at first because the window comes shipped with the tvent taped shut.

      @@CPRebels21 I left the window laying on a table for a week with a box 6 pack of painters tape on top of the t-vent glass, and the spring magically adjusted itself. 😂 weird has hell!

      @@SoCalKevin Weird but glad it fixed itself. My issue is a little different with the aluminum frame being bowed away from the T-Vent window so only part of the window fully closes.
