I love my dreadlocks. It makes me feel closer to my Native American and Aztec roots, which is important to me considered my ancestors were all pilaged.

Did you know ancient tombs of Viking warriors male and female had dread locks? That the remains of Ivan the Terrible had...dread locks? That Hindu Sadhu and tribal people wear dread locks? That ancient Slovinian remains had dreadlocks? If you have hair, dread locks are a part of your culture. Dread locks are human culture. Rastafari is beautiful. Humans have so much potential for beauty, love, joy.
If you are african grow your hair out.Don't comb it,dont use any pruducts on it,and wash it every week. That's it for freeform, but you can go to the salon to twist your hair if you want to
Gibson Callaway so true, that's why I cut mines after 16 years of growth them. Rasta is from the heart.

I wanted make dreads at 2014, but finally i didnt do this. Now i have dreads and in Poland dreads are fashion trend now, cause polish youtuber made dreadlocks... Polish kidsXD
I've had many questions for God in regards to my beautiful, head full of nappy, tight coils. Even though I was thankful, I never knew what to do with my hair to bring honor to God and at the same time let it be functional. For years I bought in to the European lie that I needed to straighten my coils in order to beautiful-even though it was the hot comb and not chemicals, I still lived a lie. Now I am finally living with my crown the way God meant it to be a blessing to me. I am locing my hair, and I've never felt more happier, and liberated.
My mom started me out with Dreads at 1yrs old, she then passed a few months after to were staying with my grandparents made me cut them and have a brush cut until I got grown or in High school. I am now 22 and have had mines for 2yrs coming up on April 6th✊🏾✊🏾!! I have grew them back all for my mom and I love Lions very much so have to represent the Lion of Judah....God gave us hair so why not love everything he gives to us and cherish it? I don’t believe in ever getting another hair cut..
My locs are an extension of me and i loe how long they have got. At the end of the day Rastafari is in all of us. Having locs is ones choice but how you treat them as well as yourself makes a world of difference.
Love this video sooo much !!! 😍💚💛❤ Thanks for sharing those wise words ! Such a pleasure to watch it as a white person with dreadlocks! There are so many prejudices and unnecessary fight between ppl from different culture (cultural appropriation)...but this video shows the real "idea" behind rasta and dreadlocks -- the simple truth what it is all about. Give thanks 🥰🙏🏼 Peace & Love from Germany
2:09 She knows her hair did not naturally loc like that bc I can tell by her roots her hair is fine with maybe a little bit of wave that she probably used a rat tail comb to make it look frizzy like Woodstock from Charlie Brown. Her ends are straight, too. Stop lying!
Rasta chose I as well, I dont preach Rasta for it is my own lifestyle based on natural living, simple living, no materialism, no judgement, for only the almighty can judge I for my life, therefor I judge no one else for it is not my place unto H.I.M. I life is I own to live, so live!!❤💛💚
to those of you who say that, "other groups of people wore dreadlocks before Rastafarians"...why is it that the term "dread" didn't come through until the "white" man saw our hair?...
It is painful to see people comments and how racism takes every single group of people with no color destintion, dreadlocks may be present since a long time in different cultures simultaneously, provably the first graphic representation of it was found in Egipt.
I really don’t like the idea of it being called “DREADLOCS”” dread seems discriminating the locs you’ve putting on . Simple call it a locs or even rasta . Blessed 🆙
5:19 a heart clean and pure......... in a body of black. .. Brown. .. yellow... red... etc...... That is what counts with God. .......study and show thyself approved. ......Psalms 24:3,4*,5..... all the believers..... take head.....He will never lead you astray..... the truth will set you free

My stepmom was controlling so I didn't start doing my own hair until I was 16 . Once I reached 20 I still didn't know what I was doing as far as styling so I locked it .

Hail Selassie I is the man, the leader, the king. Do you all know the culture of the rastafarian? It's not the hair. Teach the youth them. Rasta is powerful. I wish people know more about the culture and why. This is not about getting high and growing hair. smh good video.
The video was OK..as other viewers pointed out there was obvious culture vulturism going on without a doubt from the locks on down to the jafakean patois accent.I know rastas who would call that particular practice," wolf in sheep"s clothingism" lol..I understand that to a degree.because truthfully, where are u in the process if your embracing of society is a moniker of saying you're," anti society" through the symbolic growing of your hair?..its purely an egoic prison straight up..I've seen the full spectrum of it..for instance, strictly from an observation point of reference, I've personally witnessed brothers from the most hoodiest of hoods claim black nationalism and black consciousness etc very boisterously and openly i might add yet, once they choose to grow their locks to a certain length, they then avoid black women like the plague.on the opposite end, there are whites who do it and know absolutely nothing on rasta nor sadhu etc culture and will not venture to even learn much less embrace it outside of smoking some herb and learning the lyrics of a Bob Marley tune or two.going around claiming,"society rebel" status but in effect are more trapped than before they began growing the locks . so the locks in those instances can become a representation of a particular internal psychosis of the moment when mis represented as anything other than a hairstyle.. If its a cool fashion for you then say that's what the hell it is no problem but whether black or white, the fake egoic personification a lot of folks take on when growing their locks is what's the most irritating part of the process to bare witness to in my opinion..
Do any of you know that over a thousand years ago northern Europeans wore dreads and micro braids??? another thousand years before that Greeks did that too..... that's long before 1930

Awesome Video! Thank you for creating it. I love my locs!
locs are more than just hair, if that was the case then why does babylon have such a big problem with them? Hair is an identifier, we all know this.
Real talk!
