Are flying taxis nearly a reality in China? In mid-October, the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) gave the world's first type certificate for passenger-carrying unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) to a U.S.-listed, Guangzhou-based eVTOL company EHang. A Shanghai-based startup TCab Tech just finished its first round of flight tests in October on the prototype of E20, the company's tilt-rotor eVTOL. In the upcoming 6th China International Import Expo (CIIE), a China-developed five-seat "air taxi" will make its world debut. What is eVTOL and how is China pioneering in this industry? Check out this episode of "Tech, Please!" to learn more.

China technology development is amazingly fascinating futuristic. China is blessed with highly innovative creative people for the better. Good to note CGTN reporters not adopting enslaved names before your ancestral lineage for their wisdom will flow through them down its descendants. Well done

Needs to be quiet for comfort.
Needs to run on battery because it is both safer (doesn't blow up) and more efficient (green Tech).
Needs autonomous driving/flying so the passenger doesn't need a pilot licence.
Since public transport is already very good in China these flying Taxi technology will be used in remote areas and in emergency rescue missions. I propose these flying drones to be upgraded to 2 seaters for rescue missions. The care provider needs to help carry the injured.

Air taxis? Oh yes please! Let’s hope these become available sooner rather than later, assuming of course that the technology behind them makes these vehicles safe and affordable.

I imagine small flying taxis would be a nightmare to police and ensuring health and safety.

Flying taxi allready exist and they are called helicopter. The noise level and 100% death in a accident make them not so attractive in comperising to a EV.
Should be tested for a long time with only cargo before carrying people.
