I really feel lucky that I'm learning from you because I used to get intimidated with the abundance of tools in Photoshop. But somehow you make all that so easy.

I know nothing about photoshop an absolute beginner. These are so helpful. At first when I opened photoshop it felt so overwhelming that I did not feel like opening it again. So for straight 6 months, I did not open it. However, with the first class itself especially after the way he concludes saying "I am proud of you, because now you know photoshop better than most people", I could feel a sense of confidence and I completed the assignment (which wasn't hard at all but it felt so nice). This is just my 2nd class and I can't stop watching. I have become obsessed with learning.

Thank you so much for these lessons) Would like to add one tip for everyone who needs it. It is very convenient to use Ctrl+Shift+Alt+E (Command+Shift+Option+E for mac) in order to merge all visible layers on A NEW LAYER, while using only Ctrl+Shift+E without Alt (or Command+Shift+E without Option for mac) allows us to merge the visible layers on same layer, so adding Alt/Option helps to save all created visible layers if you need them and also place them merged on a new layer additionally.
For opacity shortcuts will also mention how to set 100% and 0% opacity
    Press zero to set 100%
Press zero quickly twice to set 0%

The efforts taken to teach (referring to paper example) and the whole tutorial. Wish we have teachers/guides/mentors like you in school/colleges. When majorly we need diplomas and certificates we enroll and learn in classes and yet online google and youtube takes 100 percent of our time.
You deserve to be a professor to take classes in an institution where we can get diplomas or certificates and the learners will actually come out learning something productive. Esp for learners like me who wants to learn starting from abc of the topic, the method of teaching is handsdown🙌 amazing.
    Thank you for this lesson
    Regards
    Devika

🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation:
00:00 📄 Transparent sheets of paper in Photoshop layers allow for flexibility in editing and manipulation, similar to drawing on transparent paper.
01:39 🧩 Layers in Photoshop act like transparent sheets, and they can contain graphics or adjustments that can affect all layers beneath them.
06:18 🌟 Understanding layer visibility in Photoshop, where the eye icon controls layer visibility and Alt/Option+clicking toggles a layer's solo visibility.
09:45 🖼 Background layers in Photoshop cannot be moved, have limited editing options, and prevent transparency. Converting them to regular layers unlocks more editing possibilities.
16:06 🎨 Useful shortcuts for adjusting opacity in Photoshop include using number keys, shift+click-drag for quick adjustments, and Alt/Option+click-drag for fine adjustments.
19:57 🎨 Tolerance in Photoshop is like having enough food for guests. It determines how similar colors can be selected in a selection.
21:06 📷 Saving an image with a transparent background in Photoshop involves using the PNG format, which supports transparency, rather than JPEG.
23:26 🖼️ To duplicate a layer in Photoshop, select it and press Ctrl+J (or Command+J on Mac). You can also use the Layer menu to duplicate.
24:37 🧰 Converting a layer into a Smart Object in Photoshop allows you to apply filters as Smart Filters, making them adjustable later.
36:11 📃 Grouping layers in Photoshop helps organize and manage multiple layers collectively, making tasks like alignment and opacity adjustments easier.
39:55 🎨 Raster layers are made up of pixels and can be modified directly, but resizing them may result in loss of details.
42:41 🧩 Convert raster layers into smart objects to retain details when resizing and maintain a separate source for modifications.
44:06 🌈 Adjustment layers allow you to modify colors and attributes of underlying layers, such as changing the hue and saturation.
45:43 ✏️ Text and shape layers in Photoshop are vector-based, which means they don't pixelate when resized, but they are still displayed on a raster canvas.
47:47 🖌️ Experiment, use practice files, and break free from boundaries when working with Photoshop layers to unleash your creativity.
