@@Vaguh bro I am sure you know this but make sure to get the damn valve spring compressor kit. i had to machine my own part added like 3 hours to my spring swap.
Late to the party here! Intercooler and pipes are a must have upgrade. I immediately felt like the car was 'happier' when I pushed it, and pulls hard even after driving for awhile which wasn't the case before. Oil/air/coolant temps stay down and it seems to cool off quicker after parking. Just my. 02!
Late to the reply here! Totally agree that theres a lot of heat generated by this engine, so anything you can do to keep temps down definitely makes it happier.
You need to get it tuned to accommodate the gains for the inter cooler. The reason you feel better spool isn’t due to the intercooler, actually a bigger intercooler has the the opposite effect it adds significantly more lag the larger it is. The quicker spool is in part tied to the reason APR gives you those bigger and non expanding hoses it adds way better linear throttle response. This has been the case in many platforms across the board on BMW as well. You will definitely benefit form the IC though in power especially sustainability.
Did you notice any issues with the vehicle running hotter in traffic because of the blocked airflow ? This is a huge issue w mustangs so I am curious ...please
It doesn’t completely eliminate heat soak, but definitely helps. I’m now running the intercooler from IE, it’s a bit more robust and helps with track applications more. If you’re going to just be daily driving and be stage 1 or 2 the APR intercooler is a solid choice.
Also, my oil temp was typically around 190* for daily driving and would jump when pushed to around 205-220*. I mainly noticed a difference in how much more quickly the temp would come down after spirited runs or driving.
Also if you don't mind I just had mine flashed stage 1 APR I do not notice anything driving around or down low but 60 to 140 is a HUGE improvement did you also get that feel per say? It actually feels bone stock until mid and top end
qdg84 yeah, I either drive up on ramps, or use the supplied jack, or my own floor jack. The floor jack is the quickest, but tricky to line up and still have enough room on the pinch weld for your jack stand.
It's Pronounced VA-Guh ah okay so basically you try to fit both the floor jack and jack stand onto the same pinch weld? Wish this car had a proper/accessible center jack point at the front and back without all the underside coverings. Oh well. Thanks for your hour reply! I’ll give it a shot.
qdg84 yeah, the jack that comes with the car works really well, but it’s slow. There is enough room to get a jack stand in the pinch weld when using it.
When I purchased this, there was a limited amount of proven intercoolers on the market. Achtuning, my local shop has seen, installed and tested many of the intercoolers on the market. APR in our experience has been top quality. I hear great things about the intercooler from Wagner and Integrated Engineering as well.
@@Vaguh appreciate the feedback. I have a 2022 ordered, should have it mid-December. May drive it stock until spring, then begin enhancing. I enjoy your channel! Subbed!
My install took 4 😳 worse mod to date yo install but the best mod to date benefits wise!! I’ve watched this video about three times and something new I think every time
Leave a comment and tell me which one of these mods should be next.
- Intake
- 034 Sport springs
- ECU (waiting for APR, considering ABT or JB4)
I have a channel with the b9 s4. Love the content so far. I would say intake, I love mine.
@@stickupmotorsports5854 Already subbed! Thanks for the kind words and don't think you'll have to wait long to see something about an intake...

Thanks! I got the tune shortly after and then followed it up with other mods. Car runs great!

Hi, What has your engine oil temperature been after launches? Did this completely eliminate Heat soaking?

When you say the ie intercooler is more robust. What do you mean by that? Larger?
@@joshroddy5702 it’s larger and has FDS for better airflow distribution which offers more cooling.
Where did you get the black plastic to cover the crash bar?
Ecstuning.com it’s the 1’x5’ strip of 3M vinyl in black gloss.
Thank you!!

It shouldn’t feel stock at all. Especially down in the lower rpm. I could tell a big difference in throttle response and torque from about 1800 RPM.
lol you missed out the footage of the actual install otherwise great video guys
Do you mind sharing your method of getting your S5 onto jack stands? Thanks, and great job on the videos!

I can make a video for it.

How long did that take you?
About 3 hours.
What made you decide on the APR vs. Wagner or another brand?

Why were there rocks in your stock intercooler??
Wilbur Landaverde bits of gravel and sand bounced up from the road.
does it add any hp ?
Hard to tell, mainly in the sense that it cools the air better, which leads to more power.

Apr intercooler came with intercooler hoes? Or they from another brand?
chulo flow came with the Intercooler.
