These things are always very useful for self defense against drunk one armed NPCs in the world. Would definitely recommend that everyone should carry one of those if they never encountered a self defense situation and never will. The guys that actually wanna have a bit of legal self defense weapons can buy a tactical pen and that would be even multi purpose

Well in America there might be pointy kubotans other than the flat version shown on this video but that doesn't mean that they are legal to carry or even posses (it all depends on state and municipality laws and regulations) but in the states in which there is a variety of weapons available to the law abiding citizens it really means that individual choices and preferences are respected by their governments as well as the freedom to choose without the need of a nanny government that make it easy for criminals to commit crimes (when there is a will there is a way) and it is well known that criminals doesn't respect the law and is not the population that usually get tactical knives and tools intended to be used in martial arts or just for collection purposes, for that they will get a kitchen knife or a machete or improvise a club or use a baseball bat saving all the money proceeding from their criminal dealings to consume drugs or commit more crimes. If a gun is what they need they will just get one at the black market and resell it after being used in a crime in order to take it off the tracks (in some cases they destroy it and get a new one if needed be🤷). Stricter laws regarding weapons (specially martial arts weapons and tools), doesn't hurt the criminals but tax paying law abiding citizens that want to have them for practice, collection or in a last resort for self defense purposes if needed be.
