Danforth and Victoria Park Ave, Bangla Town, কানাডা টরোন্টোর বাঙালি এলাকা
Majority of Bangladeshi people who lives in Canada call Toronto their home. And Danforth and Victoria Park area is the heart of the Bangladeshi community. It stretches from Main Street in the west and Danforth Rd in the east on Danforth Ave. It is also known as Bangla town or little Bangladesh.
Hundreds of stores and businesses are owned by Bangladeshi people mostly on Danforth Ave. Grocery stores, restaurants, Saree houses, Bangladeshi boutique shops, Deshi book and music stores, law offices, tax services, furniture stores, local newspaper publications, travel agencies and Mosques to name a few. There is about 20000 Bangladeshi people live in the surrounding areas.
Not only local people come here to shop and eat but also people who lives as far as 2 to 3 hours’ drive away from Toronto come here to do their Bangla groceries, dine-in and attend cultural programs.
