I'm so happy you were able to finally make this video it is a big step it took me a very long time to tell a lot of people that I was part of the community also myself it is still hard as I am not accepted from some of my family/friends

With the people that I did come out to it was extremely hard and still is to this day with some people I came out around Junior high myself
And now I'm in my mid-30s
I probably will be a lot of negativity comments after the video but 99.9% of them I believe are going to be behind you which is awesome and I can't wait to see a lot of the support you're going to have and being in the community and I'm happy that your family definitely supports you you deserve it

i understand why you are waiting to let Lilia share more on social media. coming from someone who went through the same thing she is right now, i identify totally different. not saying it’s a phase or anything but just let her grow with who she is and then share. because i understand how it can be embarrassing saying something when you were a kid and thinking different later
Nobody is the same person as when they were 13. I agree with your comment. Most people change and grow. I was one of those people. I would have been mortified to announce this on social media as a child. It would have pressured me to continue it. It’s the same with the vegan community and how some switch back to eating meat and getting shunned. People change. It’s okay. Just don’t announce it unless you’re deeply rooted…
what part did she come out
I’m gay, Ive been out since I was around her age and another girl I knew said she was gay too and when we were like sophomores she identified as bisexual but she’s only dated guys since🤷♀️ Our journeys start the same but they end different, always stay true to you
If anything, it makes her more relatable. That said, I’ve identified as bisexual since I was her age, 21 and still bisexual, it does depend on each person’s journey
Also, shes like 10 right? 10 year olds shouldn't be thinking about these things that much. She's not even done being a little kid yet.

I love how you are so supportive of your kids. So many parents try to “change” their kids minds or tell them “no, you’re just going through puberty and you don’t know how to handle your hormones.” Dismissive. And it’s been so harmful to so many young people, even to the point of those young people wanting to take their life. The fact that you’re 100% supportive of your daughter will keep that line of communication open IF (and I’m not saying she will) she ever decides to change her mind. She’s learning about who she is, you’re learning about who she is… and in a SAFE and encouraging environment. We love a healthy parent-daughter relationship!
And if you are reading this and don’t support or are upset about them sharing…. Maybe it’s time to move on and find other RUclipsrs you align more with. Jess and her fam aren’t going to stop sharing who they are and their journey just because you might be offended. Which you have the right to be if you want, but you don’t have the right to leave nasty comments.

I love this family so much I have been watching since the twins were first born so I love that Lilia is so accepted and that she gets to be who she truly is much love to the whole family
Must be hard to know how confusing things can be as a kid wanting to be supportive but also protective for her to reserve the right to change her mind!
I went through this situation when my daughter was 10. She was dealing with mental health issues and she thought she was trans. She is now 13 and is a little embarrassed of that time in her life. She was pressured by friends and social media to be someone..to pick a group...to be part of something! I was very supportive along the way but cautiously. I am glad I was supportive of that time in her life but also glad I let her become her true self with no pressure from me. I don't think it's a good idea to put kids out here on the internet for the world to see and judge. My daughter would be mortified if I had put her out there like this.
what do you mean "change her mind"? sexuality is not a choice.
@@gabbybibi7 you're right it isn't a choice but SOMETIMES people especially young people are trying to figure out who they are and it can be safer to not give out information on things like their sexuality in case they haven't really figured it out which it's possible they haven't. I'm not saying she'd ever "change her mind" but I've had friends my whole life that believed they were straight, gay, bi what have you and then later realized who they really were and I can imagine it would be annoying to have to come out multiple times throughout your life and correct what you told people before if things did change especially if you're trying to correct what you said as young as 12. I think its always safer for people to be so open about any sexuality once that person has at least hit an age closer to adulthood.

@@gabbybibi7 no I know kids are self aware I'm saying anyone is still trying to find themselves and who they are at that age and even until much later, I mean people's brains don't even develop until like their mid twenties I'm not saying kids don't know what they're saying its just unfortunately more dangerous for someone who is 12 compared to someone who's like 22 to be open about their sexuality and it can open them up to a lot of criticism and vulnerability

Took me until I was 28 to realize it and come to terms with it and finally at 30 I came out. It’s an amazing gift to know who you are when you’re this young. I wish I had.
I love how confident she is , ye I don’t like labels for such young girls. And in general it’s always good to be open to change and explore.. I’ve seen plenty times ppl change as life goes on.. you meet someone from opposite gender someone u didn’t know ud fall for and woops ur whole world changes.. often we base our identity by the ppl around us and who loves us and often the first few ppl u fall inlove with.. so who knows but I love the amazing connection u have with ur kids . I understand what you're saying. I have friends that I thought were LGBTQ+.but, so far they're not. I am not sure..so,I just go with their flow. Acceptance is so important for young people,and others.
My daughter just came out to me about 8 months ago. She’s 24 years old with a 5 year old son. She’s now in a amazing relationship. She’s happy and truly that’s all I care about. She’s not part of the Obgyn community because she and her girlfriend don’t trust all that stuff. They are just happy and want to build a life together. ❤❤❤❤
Does she enjoy delivering babies and Are they both doctors? 😂😭😂 I know it was an honest mistake (OBGYN) but your comment has me cracking up. It's way past my bed time so maybe that's why I'm in such a silly mood. My daughter didn't really ever "come out". She always had boyfriends until she was about 25 then one day she just introduced the family to her girlfriend without ever mentioning that she was gay beforehand. No one blinked an eye. They dated for several months & it didn't work out & now has a different girlfriend. As long as she is happy & being treated right, then that is all we care about.

My mom just ignored her symptoms and kept going and now she is extremely ill and will be for awhile until the medicine she’s taking start kicking in
Parents often forget to take care of themselves and it’s been really scary for me to see her go though this, asking for prayers from those who are willing

As a 14 year old lesbian, I agree with this so much. I’ve been out since I was 11 and I’ve known since I was 8 and it’s a really sad feeling when one of your “lesbian/bisexual” friends realizes they’re straight. When I was about 9-10, I actually had plans to not come out until I was 18 and I moved away but other people around me came out so I felt like it was an ok option and now they’re all straight and I felt so betrayed for the longest time. I’m really happy being myself though and not having to hide it
this is beautiful, i wish my parents were not just as open, but as engaging and involved as you are with your children and who they are figuring out they are ❤ gorgeous family

I always say I’d need 72 hours in a day to get everything done my husband thinks I’m crazy🤣
I went through this with my daughter when she was Lilias age and I let her discover herself and explore her sexuality. She had a hard time with acceptance from others and unfortunately did self harm but she got through it with me by her side every step of the way. I am a very proud mum and now my daughter knows what and who she likes it did turn out to be boys but it wouldn’t have mattered to me if she likes girls. She’s my daughter and I would have supported her no matter what her sexuality was. That’s all a mother can do is be there understand, support and most of all love. Jess you do an amazing job with all your children.
Do you think it was good that your daughter shared her sexuality at such a young age knowing what you know now?

Knowing my daughter I know that not sharing would have cause so much more pain for her and the people that couldn’t/ wouldn’t accept her for who she thought she was weren’t her true friends/ family and she removed those negative people from her life and when she finally found her new friends who she considers family they didn’t care what sexuality she was and it was them that helped her when I couldn’t. She has said many times that she’s glad she went through what she did because now she helps others who feel the same and have had similar issues. She’s a strong independent young lady and everyday I look at her and think to myself how proud I am of her and what she’s achieved. She’s happy. That’s all I want is her to be happy

My step daughter came to me at 13 and said I think I'm gay, I told her we love and support her and want her to be happy, she was so happy to scared to tell her mum and dad, the next week she said she went on a date, I said OMG did you have the best time? what you do? where you go?, she told me and then said they kissed I was so excited for her, she told her dad that night and he of course supports and loves her she was so relived, she just had to tell her mum, she did but she was so so about it, we took her and cut off all her hair she looked great, her mum again not great about it, fast forward she is now 18 been with the same girl all this time has just gone off to uni with a mowhark lol, we live in a small town but she is now in a city where she can be free to be herself...
So Lilia I wish you all the best on whatever you choice is in life as long as your being you and you are happy x

I love that you’re so supportive Jess! I have a son close to Lilias age though and I worry about putting such personal private info about her sexuality out there so early. Even if she wants that, she’s 12 and doesn’t understand the implications of that being out there for her. I support her 100% but I worry about her safety and mental health if she were to be teased or bullied by people who don’t support her lifestyle choices.

Many parent don’t and it send kids into deep dark depression and they don’t know which way to turn and they lose themselves at a very young age then go down a very bad road! My kids are 14 (girl) 16 (boy) and 18 (girl) and I don’t care who they want to be with as long as that person loves them and respects them for who they are and treats them good I’m all for it! I support my kids in whatever they choose! Period!

i love this!! i came out a few years ago and to this day i’m still loud and proud about it. i do not care what anyone says because i see it as if someone is happy that’s all that should ever matter!! always. when you walk in my room i have tons of pride flags, pride things hanging up, i have pride shirts, etc. as long as she’s happy that’s all that matters!! you go lilia!!

Most of my friends had crushes on boys since they were 5 and I just so happened to start having crushes on girls when I was 8.
