Absolutely correct. Not all kids enjoy a party. I’m an adult living in India but to be honest I really don’t enjoy a party myself . I would like my birthday to be a quiet one with just my family and doing what I like. These days birthday parties have become a trend . If you don’t celebrate your birthday a certain way then you are labelled as boring 😢. So I really appreciate you for letting everyone know the reality

I think there was a brief phase of a couple of years maybe when my son was in the ages 6-8 when he enjoyed celebrating his birthday that too because he liked decorating the place himself etc., but even then he didn’t really enjoy having too many people over. Just a couple of his friends. After that he himself started telling us that he would prefer travelling to a place instead of doing the routine cutting a cake sort of thing. I realised then that I was imposing these birthday parties onto him because my parents never celebrated our birthdays except the usual new dress, distribute chocolates to friends, visit temple and eat payasam or gulab jamun made by amma. I would attend my friends’ parties and wished my parents celebrated them too. Probably it was just a simple case of wishing for something I didn’t get and trying to impose it onto my kid! Birthday parties are pointless. Totally.
So true. My amma made gulab jamun too, and I would always look forward to it. Simpler times 🥰 I also like the idea of encouraging kids to do the decoration themselves.
Nice seeing your party 🎉 meenakshi . My opinion on kids parties 🎈 is they enjoy their birthday with friends once they start school .until then having a dinner with neighbourhood kids alone or going for dinner with a friends family whom the child is familiar with is all I suggest.
Very very true kids at this age dont remember nor enjoy the party like adults do . When they grow and ask for a birthday party themselves then we can have one . Save the time , energy , effort 😂
