- Are you stuck in a low wage job and looking to grow? I am not promising get rich quick schemes here but a hard look at realistic paths and the thinking you must follow in order to reach your goal. If you are starting from zero, its likely going to be touch in order to get the education you need while working a full time job. If at all possible, you might even want to get a student loan for a career that will eventually pay more.

@@BeatTheBush I live with some family members who seem to think people can do things perfect the first time around. Its like how they do not understand learning is a process. I have a sister who would ask little things to be fixed around the house. I would try it with the tools available, and of course, its my first attempt at it. She would find it not aesthetically up to her standards, and eventually just spend hundreds on professionals with special tools to come and do it. IF she ain't trying to save money, then go right ahead i say.
Yep and like Robert Kiyasaki says, don't chase money but focus on solving problems/ using your intelligence/ constantly striving to provide more value to people.
I agree with you, I had a friend in the office who lived well but never had an investment, unfortunately his job ended so he went from living well to surviving

This is a great motivational video. I agree with you 100%. In my opinion, sometimes people don't like to sacrifice their spare time or even get out of their comfort zone. Sometimes, the harder step, is the first one, once you get going, you get going. It is not easy to spend hours after hours studying, reading, doing homework, etc..., but in the end, it pays off.
Get out of your comfort zone once a week? Everyday? It's good to do it often because that's how anyone can learn.

Short version what you need.
Intelligence, Intuition, Inner Drive, Disregard for Society Standards, Focus that will sacrifice any social event if it does not help you reach for end goal. I know where I am going and there is nothing that will stand in my way. That is how I built my companies. I see the vision then commit 100%.

Another great vid. About 20 years ago I went through the same thought process. Was in a basic “job” making $8.50 an hour. Not only that, but I hated it. Came home one evening and began to brainstorm on how to gain skills and knowledge in a field that interested me, and fit my personality. Worker hard over a several year period to continue to provide for my family while gaining the necessary skills. After about 5 years I could really begin to see the traction taking place and was making about $45000 per year. After another 5 years I again changed my mindset and began to think of annual income over hourly pay. This may sound insignificant, but it was a game changer. Today I still look at skill, effort, and potential in an area that we may be considering. As of now we work 3 days per week and make well into the 6 figures. Im always still looking at other opportunities that may offer us a return on investment of both time and dollars. One for instance....right now we are working on adding a work space in our shop to allow for appliance repair. We have made calls to get the information needed for EPA Certification etc for freon. We have now contacted a couple of people that are interested in this type work and have offered them training, the tools, the work space, and even the appliances to work on as we look to build the business. So how will they get paid? Initially by repairing appliances that we obtain and then reselling those appliances on market place. This will provide the resources to pay them for their time while the business gets off the ground. Total investment will be minimal considering how quickly it will begin to generate income. Constantly think outside the box. Dont give into the thoughts and input of others that always say “it cant be done” or all of the negatives about why it will be too hard etc.

you'll never become a millionaire by saving a few dollars here and there. this logic is flawed. start a business and run it successfully. that's how you will get there.
Dr Green I agree, I don't know anyone who became a millionaire by working a job. Read "Rich Dad Poor Dad" he advocates building businesses and investing in real estate to become wealthy, not being an employee or even self-employed.
You can and it's been done time and time again. You can start a business and run it successfully but never generate a positive cash flow (heh hem UBER) and you will still not be a millionaire.
Starting a business is not for everyone and not everyone knows how to run a business. So I'm saying, you can do it either way.
OK, can you give some examples where people became millionaires by saving few dollars now and then?
I don't see how. If you are working a job making 30k and are in the 15% tax bracket, then you have $25,500 take home pay. If by some miracle you don't have ANY living expenses and just socked away your entire paycheck every month it would take 39.2 years to become a millionaire. Sounds like a long, hard road to me.
Dr Green wrong. Have you listened to any of Dave Ramsey's calls? Im not pushing his teachings on you but if you listen to some of the calls that comes in there are average people who are plumbers, construction workers, randoms jobs we've never heard of who has become a millionaire. Don't say it's impossible until it's been tried.
Maybe I'm just being whiny, but I notice a few issues with this:
1) This assumes that people have the financial resources to be able to go to college
2) Most people don't have the skill set and know how to manage a business, which makes entreprenuership very difficult often resulting in a lose of profit (i.e. you blow your life savings on a business idea that fails)...and again, this assumes that people have the financial resources for their own start-up to begin with
3) Many people with low income work multiple jobs to make ends meet and don't have time for leisurely activities, such as gardening. Apartment living is also an issue because there is no yard space to garden in.
Having skills is very important and there are low cost and free online courses to learn new skills to increase your income.
Indeed there are a lot of free resources from universities that offer free course materials. However, self learning is hard for some so you really need to be very interested in a certain topic to learn so extensively on it.

You can usually find the information if you look for it and ask enough questions. Just have be clear about your goal and have a strong enough reason to go after it so you will not stop when obstacles arise. Plan, Do, Check, Advance

If someone needs to be told how to build a company of their own they will fail. I started my first business years ago with my wife an everyone thinking I was crazy. Now 3 years later wife stays home, I have 4 different businesses and I make in one week more then most make in 2 months. Its not about the money though. I don't care about that part. Its about bringing what I see in my mind to life. Also the more difficult an issue is the excited I get about it. I can live in that space. I dropped out of college 6 credits short of associates degree. I would read the book for the class the first week. Then I would have pretty much learned what I would need to pass. By week 2 I would be asking questions related to classes for next semester. I think also is the part that I will not defeated by anything helps
Wow! Nice to hear your success story! Seems like you took the nontraditional path and actually made it work. I still think too much success stories will convince early starters of the wrong path. The entrepreneur route is full of road blocks that is much rougher and often times takes much much more work than the 40 hours a job takes. So if you want to work your butt off but potentially get paid much more then that's the entrepreneur route.
I also think not everyone has the insight to be successful as it's not just hard work. As you mentioned, it takes a healthy sprinkle of talent and intuition.
BeatTheBush truthfully it comes naturally to me. I just spent all weekend working literally every day since last weekend before that. But it's fun so hours don't matter to me. My wife and kids are on vacation with her mom 10 hours away. I wanted to get new office finished so I stayed. Then add 10 more things to do. I naturally just have that drive. So sitting at her moms house or walking on the beach all I would be thinking is if didn't come I would have got this this and this done and made about this much. Why I am here with these people when stuff needs accomplished. I always keep in mind I only have 20 years left to finish everything before my time here is up. So my mind is constantly thinking about efficiency. My good friend that does well too said "I have never seen someone in so many different businesses and manage to keep them all growing" The not person in this world that can defeat me is myself. Probably why my mind is so strong and I'm constantly strengthening any weaknesses I find within. This is the thinking you have to have to create a world most other couldn't even dream of.
Mamadollskie I didn't get a loan. That would give a bank control over my business. I started my first one out of my home. Built it for about a year then I quit my regular job when I was literally making in one day what tool 2 weeks there to make. It's easy if you enjoy what you do. After that I planned out my next one I started a year later. Just find something you enjoy and get it. There is no formula truthfully. It all comes from inside.

First business was a supplements and others products geared towards bodybuilders. If its not something you enjoy you won't succeed. Thats the truth about it. I was around that lifestyle for many years so I had a very good understanding of the market, people and what people wanted in general. I thought it thru and figured out how to connect one thing to another. I was always looking where I was going not where I was at. After that I started other companies for different products for different approaches. It would be a very long book if I tried to write it all out. Basically the main things were I always knew where my next step was, I always invested 60-70% of profit into other areas to make more money (digital currency that went up 3000% for example). I was always looking for the next 10 moves to goal acquisition.

Wow, that's a pretty good amount. Now, how long did that take?
How long did that take? How many cans equated to $4,000 ?
How many decades did this take you? I was at the recycling center yesterday and they were paying $.50/lb for aluminum cans. 32 cans = 1 pound (YMMV as some cans are bigger than others.) So I would need over 250,000 cans to get $4,000. If you live in Michigan, where there is a 10 cent deposit for containers, you will still need to collect 40,000 cans and bottles.
ppsh43 it doesn't have to just be cans. most places will take anything aluminum. you would be surprised how much aluminum you can come by. people throw out appliances all the time, dumpsters by construction sites may have a lot of aluminum, and if you just walk down some buys streets you'll see a shit tone of cans. that goes far all metals really. $.50 a lb for aluminum is really good.

Another thing that's very important is learning/doing something that you are passionate about. Don't just go learn (or worse paying $$$ to learn) writing apps because you heard app creators earn millions.
You can also do stuff that you are good at, and because you're good at it, the passion follows.
Oh yeah, seems like there's that trend too huh? Paying lots to do online courses on writing an app.
I rather do it the other way where you have passion first and you become good at it. You never know if the passion will follow after you are good at something.
Honestly, I think "passion" is a word that people just throw around and real passion doesn't come that easy, to the point that you can have the passion first and then become good at something later. That would probably be the exception. If you wait till you find something you're passionate about, you're most likely going to end up waiting a really long time or never find it. Rather, if you simply invest yourself in something that really interests you, the passion for it will come as you get better at it. And even if it doesn't turn out to be something that you're really passionate about, it's not time wasted waiting for passion to magically appear into your life. Another example of thinking you have passion for something is watching chefs or people who make a living while travelling on RUclips and wanting to emulate them because it looks so fun, and after a few weeks of learning, you end up giving up as you come to realize that it isn't as easy as it looks on RUclips. You have to also be interested in the LEARNING part of it, not the end result or outcome that you see as successful people on RUclips. That's why I think passion develops and grows stronger with hard work and persistence.
TL;DR Stop using the word "passion" and just pursue and invest yourself in what you find really interesting. Forget passion. It starts from an interest.

What type of engineer are you? Because I'm thinking that may also help you to me more versatile. For example I have an engineering degree in IT, so installing a new headunit into my car was right up my alley but installing my dishwasher was a strech for me. I still did it, but sometimes I just feel like something would take too much time and effort, so I call a "professional". Do you fix everything yourself?
Just generic engineer for now but if you look at my videos, I cross boundaries for the type of engineering. I fix practically everything myself. If I don't know how, I call it a challenge and give it a stab. =D

First time I disagree. You only have 1 life and you should also spend it on actions you like. Just to save money it is not wise to learn all the skills in the world. That is what professionals are for. You are not only buying skills. You buy free time (that you can use to make more money) Watching a youtube video of something + doing it myself (not as good as a professional) eats a lot of time.
Depends if you get pleasure out of learning something new and being a jack of all trades. Also, how much you can make in your free time has a lot to do with if you'll pay for a service that costs less.
Beyond the Lens I agree it’s not productive for real professional stuff like diagnosing your plumbing issues, but something as repetitive at oil changes, grass cutting, etc...every few months, it is good to learn that skill bc it will save you a lot of money over the long run. So again it’s building your skills which will save you money and could make you money. You could do oil changes and toilet repair for the lady across the street once you’ve learned those skills.
+nat jo tbh even as someone who knows how to do an oil change it really isn't worth doing it yourself atleast by me. Coupons for oil changes for around $20-$25 and that includes the oil and filter compared to if I can't get it in a shop to do it on myself jacking it up it takes a decent bit of time, it's all in how much you value your time as someone who takes home $40 ish an hour it isn't worth it.

But if you hired services for everything around your house/car, etc... that you could get done for half your income ($20) then you would be dishing out half your income.
I cut my own grass and since I have a lawnmower I cut a few ppl on my street and make money. My lawnmower is already out so I may as well.
So true, my husbands uncle is a self made millionaire, he got the cheapest haircut in town, if they got fastfood delivered ( they where in there 70's ) they saved the napkins, Ketchups . There where not stinchy, they payed for there housekeepers 3 children to go to college, but they where not wasteful. They send use $1000 every Christmas, but when I was there visiting on my birthday, I got a used vase as a present. And I still have it , some how I love this stupid vase.
Just started the video, gotta say, you actually remind me of me a bit, at least skills wise, I basically possess the same basic skill set (although did a year of engineering, I switched to Biochem, which I recently finished).
I would like to add, I have built up my non-primary skills by making them a hobby. I immerse myself in that hobby for a a few years, until I have a basic level of competency, and then get a new hobby. That way, I become a well rounded person. And now I can cook, am familiar with cars (in general), and basic repairs/handyman (cars and currently home stuff), computers, and those are the main ones.
At the very least, it improves the quality of *my* life.
Find something you enjoy, learn it, practice it, do it as a hobby, then once comfy, and at the level where you really need pro training, move on. Not only does that save you money, you gain a tremendous sense of self satisfaction.

I have a sewing skill do you think I could make a side hustle and I work at a factory for 12 years but I know I won't be a millionaire but I dont want to work this factory until I'm 65 .I do have a 401k and a Roth IRA. Any advice.

Great portrayal of how to THINK in a manner worthy or wealth. Spending power is an honor that is earned through a temperance of desire. Most big ticket lottery winners are worse off than before they won because they assumed that being able to spend meant being obligated to spend, which is why so many lose most of their wealth giving it away and attempting business endevors that they haven't spent the TIME to learn suffeciently. Everyone has the same potential balance of time to spend each day: 24 hours; knowing how to spend that is how I'm going from $0 to Millionaire.

My brother and I have received several HD Tv's because capacitors have gone bad in them. We just desoldered the bad capacitor and put in new ones and it worked like new.

Another great video. For services you can not do yourself, you can try bartering. your skill and time for someone else's time and skill. There is a bartering section on Craigslist for example.

I know that he means well with this video(s) and only wants to help. But he really lives in a whole different "real" world, from many people. No children family to worry about? (it looks like?) Came from a good background, and sounds like a nice family, in a good neighbourhood and had a network, support and the means.
Garden? how about if you live in the projects? or a apartment, one can not grow their own food to live off of. Fixing a car, many apartment complexes do not allow you to work on your own car in the parking lot. Tools also cost big $$$. Didn't know that washing dishes was a skill... but I know that you met well.
With a full time job a lot of struggling families are working two jobs now. Going to college is indeed a very long road. Taking a class or two each semester or year. And even then moving up that pay scale is not set in stone deal after going through many years of schooling at that CC college.
I always hear become a entrepreneur, like it just grows on trees. It takes money to do such a thing. If one is barely getting by and living pay cheque to pay cheque, just up and investing in a business, vs making sure you have food on the table is a pipe dream to most. Not saying that it is impossible, but it sure isn't as poof, it is there easy as you are making it out to be. And banks aren't willing to give you a loan unless you have a nice portfolio, capital on hand (which many do not have) or collateral like a house to put up.
It's hard, because I know that you mean well, and that you are only trying to help with positive feel video's. But my goodness you are pretty oblivious about how hard the struggle is, and what it's actually LIKE to have to try do it. It's damn easy to talk about and suggest to people, but actually LIVING it is a whole nother ball game. I know it is not your fault since it isn't something that you grew up with or had to dig yourself out of. It's frustrating, you make video's talking about topics that you have zero experience, background or any real world knowledge in. And 30k gross with a family is poverty, considered one pay check away from living on the streets. There is a reason why it is so hard for most (the poor) to move up the social economic ladder, and get trapped.
There are certainly lots of people from different backgrounds and hurdles that need to be overcome. Some are more privileged than others and that must be taken into account.

Great advise. I know what I'm good at but sadly my mind and body keep lagging behind. Not to mention ext I'm good at doesn't necessarily gain money right away. I used to have money cuz I was frugal. Buying less,only ext I needed, less washing of clothes to lower bills and make pants last,buying less toilet paper even. Started using sham wows and washing out or dropping in bucket. Cut coupons etc. Invested in life ins that had stocks and CDs on side of savings. Eventually my health took my resources and I couldn't work anymore and became homeless. California is the hardest state to keep up let alone survive. Trying to get rich is tough unless your a stone wall who doesn't mind screwing people over in process. I have many writing ideas but no investors for project when complete. My talent goes unheard or unseen in meanwhile. I do love your advise channel though. Thank you.
Wow... so how are you commenting being homeless? Having failing health can indeed so such a thing to your finances if you do not have any income. That is the rub with doing things you enjoy and are good at. It does not earn money right away so it must be refined and worked at over many years to gain traction.

It's hard to squeeze out free time BUT first step to get more free time I think is to do things fast, don't watch TV, and minimize social media.

Any time you have to use a service to pay to do something you can do yourself -- like lets say you were to pay $25.00 to get your car washed and vacuumed. Wash and vacuum your car on your own and take $25.00 out of your checking account and transfer it into your savings account.
If that is budgeted money, you will still be adhering to your budget, but you will actually be saving money in the process.
Same as if you are going to eat out. Take your "dining out" money and transfer it into a savings account when you cook dinner instead. You will be amazed how much you can save, and how quickly.

$25k means you are doing minimum wage jobs. Have you considered getting more education because that sounds like about high school level salary.

I've heard a few years ago this statement that, it isn't about saving money these days, it is about how fast you make them. You are saving money with those learned skills and it will take a while for a million.
I still think it's both. You can always match or exceed the rate you earn it.
The video was very good. For those who are complaining that the information imparted was common sense, or that everyone already knows that, I disagree. I will, however, say that the title of the video is somewhat misleading, and could have struck a lower expectation chord. Too many "get rich quick" books and videos have us all like Pavlov's dog with these kinds of titles. But the information is sound, and we shouldn't assume everyone already knows the basics, or that they can apply them once they do know them. Some people need reminding of what is important. And when you are talking to general audiences, both skilled and educated, and non-skilled but motivated, it is hard to reach both ends of this spectrum in 7 minutes. Not every video is going to be a box office hit. I think he does exceedingly well with the audiences he intends to reach. If every video doesn't ring your bell, then focus on the ones that do, and ignore the others. If nothing he has to say helps you, then find someone who is more up your alley. His videos are offerings, not mandatory listening assignments.

People often find it silly and wonder why "rich" people cut coupons and take advantage of deals. But they are looking at it the wrong way. Likely one of the main reasons they are well off is _because_ they are so frugal and knew how to streamline their expenditures and always live within their means.
_Have money_ *does not* have to mean _will spend._
All about minimizing spending and maximizing income. Once you have enough to retire on at a level you like, then perhaps its time to let up a bit and buy more services that gives you even more time.

I am assuming many people know what is the right thing to do to improve their financial circumstances. However, having a highly disciplinary life-style is sometimes very difficult for a lot of people. As we all know, promises are easily uttered by mouth than execute in physical action. I give financial advice to my customers all the time, nevertheless, at end of the day, it is their call to take the "medication" or not.
getting rich （obviously legally) is like conducting a marathon. It is tough, few people can do it, but many don't.
I think many people actually don't know how to improve their financial situation. Much spending is driven by marketing and peer influence so if you just go with the flow, you can end up broke. Then like you said, there are the ones that knows what to do but do not have the will power to do it.
In general, learning things to do them by yourself (to save money) instead of paying a professional is quite inefficient use of time/money in general. The exception is for those who have Learner talent, those who enjoy learning new things almost all the time. Do you have the Learner talent yourself? (from StrengthsFinder) In that case, that would be enjoyable. In other cases, it will drain the energy of someone. Therefore, what you suggest about learning it yourself & doing it is not generally applicable (unless those are really simple tasks). Most people specialize, they are not generalists. Therefore, the better advice to give to a general audience would be actually the reverse: Find out what you are best at, do that all the time (make your best money from there), pay for whatever else you are not good at doing to be done by others and this will lead to accumulate wealth easily. (Of course, this is probably best for non-Learners while yours is great for Learners.) About the other things you said, there's some truth about the talent & the eye for corrective action as long as the person has that talent and there are no other problems. However, many times, people will have some issues and unresolved problems that will prevent them from using their talent. In that case, the corrective action strategy is not going to be enough. They actually will need to resolve the issues & problems that get in the way (emotional, mental, past hurts, etc.). Otherwise, no matter how many times they do the corrective actions, they either won't work or they won't stick, they will bounce back. There are two exceptions to this: (1) applying the corrective action is actually helping to resolve the issues/problems that are in the way; (2) a determined mind will make progress despite the issues & problems in the way although those issues & problems, because they are not resolved, will shift themselves to other areas of life, so that person will experience physical, mental or relational issues, for example (more compared to before the shift). Hope that helps.
You have a point. It is indeed my habit to learn new things... sort of a serial learner. So yes, not everyone can do such a thing but it sure works for me in terms of saving.

Actually Doctors/Dentists can easily become huge drain of wealth. Compared to a handyman/repairman/car mechanic etc, Doctors and Dentists are not only far more expensive, but they also have license to kill and get away with it! Educating oneself in how to keep up good health to stay away from Doctors and Dentists as much as possible is more wealth savy and important than learning how to fix things yourself (although that's nice too).

I think charity and donation is not up to me to go on about and its a personal choice for everyone. I do think as a giver, you have the ability to make the most out of your donation. A monetary value for something is fine but what's better is if you teach those who need it to make that themselves. The value then increases many folds.
I have a question. My mortgage company passed my mortgage off to another company. This went on my credit as an account closure and dropped my credit score 51 points! Is this normal, and will it correct itself? I'm kinda freaked out now.
Oh yes. Probably Fannie Mae I assume. They passed it off so there should be another account shown on your report. Maybe it will take a month or two before it shows. I assume you didn't do any other things like applying to a few credit cards that also could have dropped it.

I am all for accumulating wealth.. I'll be a millionaire in just a couple more years. But the one error in your logic is that wealth isn't the ultimate goal, it is freedom. I'd rather hire someone to cut my lawn because I don't like to. I'd rather go workout at the gym or go bicycling or go play a game of chess. The reason why I like making a lot of money is so I can pay people to do things I don't want to do so I can do more of what I like.
