Thank you Alex for another good video. Thank you Greg for hooking up a fellow hot rodder! That is great to know we still have old-school brotherhood and take care of each other. We are all excited to see parts for Mr. Jones and Big Red. Mr. Jones is going to haul some butt down the track when it is all said and done. Keep it up!
I was just about to get to bed, but then a new video, I've never been this early. Edited to say thanks Greg for hooking the Valiant up with a new cam and a bunch of spare parts.
When you ship fragile cylindrical items, a rod outside the package prevents them from bending or breaking when the mailman mishandles it. i had a driveshaft shipped to me that had a 6' long rod in the box for that reason.
I put poly bushings in my Dart, really tightened it up but they tend to squeak after a while. Also impervious to oil leaks and all that. That was really important with my high mileage motor that always found new ways to leak.
That cam ought to be able to provide more power as well as good streetable drivability as long as the duration is conservative like the lift is. Should work great with the turbo, and also with the mild lift, valve train reliability won't be an issue especially with upgraded springs.
Very cool! Thank god for some pretty generous subscribers man, especially at this time right? LOL! And yeah, I would definitely put springs in the heads! I was gonna say yank the springs out of Big Red but forgot you're using those heads for the 318. I'd recommend getting the #1110 springs from Hughe's!
Years ago, we used to use a spring we called a "Z28" spring that was cheap from Pioneer. Worked very well in street applications, and lots of non chevy engines. Might work on Mr Jones. Worked nicely on my 318. About 120# on the seat, if I recall.
Man I'm loving that Valiant! So much in fact you got me looking for one. So thanks, the Mrs doesn't think so though. Lol Can't wait to see the vid of it back with that new mill.
Go ahead and do springs before reassembly. Boost and drive pressure slightly reduce the spring forces controlling the valves so it will loose control sooner under boost than it will na. No need dropping a valve from floating valves for a couple hundred bucks worth of springs.
Thank you Greg that was very generous of you. Alex I have been praying for you and it looks like God is answering those prayers. If you ever need to reach out to someone that has been through some similar things in life I'M here buddy. Just send me an email!
Just a heads up when I did my double valvesprings in my 318 I had to have the valve guides machined to be able to get the inner springs in and also had to run different valve guide seals
Can you provide a link as to where you found this information? My readings have suggested .007 gap per inch of cylinder diameter and to consider ring material as well for a factor of determining rig gap. Thank you
I’m 70 years old and was taught to build engine at and early age (read 12) . Have been doing races engines for so 25 years now and have always done it the way with on problems
Nice little care package there. I heard the storm in Texas really shut down a lot of manufacturing and they're still catching up.
Very generous of Greg to send over those presents! Good on ya, Greg! 👍🏼
That will be a nice up grade for the 360. We certainly do have a great group of viewers out there.

I intend to, just hard finding them right now

Thank you!!
If that rod has a hex shape it is probably a pre lube oil pump drivshaft.
My thought too 🤙🏼
nice
that is the purple cam version of the roller if I am not wrong should be really nice with some springs I may have some old stuff hanging around
I hope it makes some good gains
I agree some springs would be a benefit.

I’ve done springs on magnum 360’s twice and never run into that 🤔
Mine is a la so that might have something to do with it. Anyways keep fighting the good fight brother
What kind of table was that pretty neat
Keter. Checkout my video on it!!!
Marty at utawesome performance has PAC springs for the stock magnum heads. They add another 5-600 RPM
Thank you!
I am going to performance cam my 225. Lol
When you get to gaping the rings add .006 to manufacturers end gap for a turbo car
Can you provide a link as to where you found this information?
