Now I am going to tell you a story, a story of a young girl who saw something and grew to be someone else. When I was 7 years old, I was at my grandmother’s house with two other girls (whose names I will not disclose.) They were sisters who loved Fnaf and popular horror at the time like Charlie Charlie and Granny. It was a fall night and the younger sister was playing music when she asked me, “Have you ever heard of Five Nights at Freddy’s?” “No. What’s that?” I asked. “The best game ever!” She replied. She then started to look up something while we sat next to each other. She then gestured her phone to me so we could watch the video together. The video was this one. As the video progressed, I thought I was looking at dogs, considering I was like 7. We continued after the chorus, then we saw Springtrap. I thought he was pretty creepy looking but I didn’t pay any mind to it. Then his face opened to reveal William Afton inside, my eyes teared up as I looked at him, but these girls were older than me so I didn’t want to look scared. But then he did it again, and that’s when I screamed and ran away. I cried for about an hour and the girls were punished (pretty sure they got grounded.) A few days later. I started school again. I asked my friend if they knew what it was and they said that they did. I asked if she was scared of them too and I think she had the idea to scare me considering the weak spot I had grown over a single fall break. So she said that she had the animatronics at her house and that she could send them to me at her will. I was terrified. I then spent about two months being constantly scared of Springtrap or Foxy coming to kill me. But then I got my first phone, which had RUclips kids on it. For a week I would watch CookieSwirlC for hours, until one day, one of her Fnaf videos appeared on my recommended. Even though I was scared of Fnaf, CookieSwirlC was my favorite RUclipsr at the time. So I watched it, and more, and more, and even more. I watched the Enchanted Mob video with Join Us for a Bite and Grifinilla’s Creeping Toward the Door. I got really into the music and the Funko figure reviews. When I moved, I found LaurenZside and her Sims 4 Fnaf series. I found out about Fnaf cosplay and animation. I stared making fan art and comics. I made Ocs and got into more horror games like Bendy and Baldi. I found Fnaf plushie videos and decided I really wanted a plushie. A few months later, I got a Funtime Foxy plushie from Walmart as a gift from my parents. They did not even know how much I appreciated the plushie and it still is my favorite plushie to this day. I would take him everywhere. He is my emotional support plush. Then, when I was in 6th grade, Security Breach came out, I became obsessed with it, staying up late just waiting for FusionZgamer to pump out another video, I would watch Sun and Moon TikTok compilations all night, staying up to as late or as early as 6:00 am. A month later, the Sun and Moon Show came out. I was an og fan bro. Every day after school I would watch another daily upload from them. I would draw them at school and think of it constantly. When I got into 7th grade, I started to fall out of the Sun and Moon Show and got more into ROTTMNT, an awesome show btw, and never really got back into it. Then the Fnaf movie came out, I watched it the day it came out with my Uncle, he loves horror movies and games. Throughout the movie I saw references to the early days of Fnaf and thought about what it has become, when the movie ended, Funtime Foxy in hand, as the Fnaf Song by The Living Tombstone started to play, I cried as the whole theater and I sang along to it. Fast forward to today, the 10th anniversary of Fnaf. After I watched the Scott Cawthon and Dawko interview, I put on the original song. But as I listened I remembered that this song is not the song that got me here……. It was this one. This video, is the video, that changed my life, if you had not went through the time to create this silly Fnaf music video, I wouldn’t have made the friends I had made, the art, the comics, the collections, the cosplays, or had the best year of my life, the nights I spent watching the videos. I am a cosplayer, an author, and an artist, not just because of Scott Cawthon or the girls, but you as well. My life wouldn’t have been the same if you hadn’t uploaded this video. Thank you.
