Then he invaded us with the help of Spain and then you helped us too, so it was Portugal and England vs Spain and France, we won obviously.
On WW I, Germany had some ships going around Portugal and Spain to attack England from behind, we detected them and we destroyed them to protect you. After that, Germany declared war on Portugal (again to help you guys).
On WW II we loaned you Azores, so that you could have more support from America. Some people say that it was one of the keys of the WW II, more than half of american shipments were being destroyed half way. Since England and America started using Azores around 95% of the American ships started reaching their destination like they were supposed to.
Plus some people say that secretly some Portuguese soldiers flew to England and fought as English soldiers.Portugal was neutral and couldnt join the war because of Spain. If Portugal joined the Allies Spain would join the Axis. If Spain joined the Axis Portugal would join the Allies imediatly. So Portugal and Spain made a non agression threatement where both would stay neutral during the war.
Portugal wanted to help England on America's independence war, England said that they didnt need it, and then you lost. (Dont forget that by that time Portugal was almost the size of the Actual Russia. )

sam pafc yeah it is a bit weird, because da Silva is also a Portuguese name. But it is also used on Spanish language, so i guess he might be from Argentina or Spain, or something like that.
If Portugal stoped existing i would definatly try to be English.
