THIS Tim Fischer seems to be an absolute flamer, and good luck to him if he's happy. Aussie Tim Fischer, not so much... As a National Party politician, he'd be susceptible to blackmail if he were gay. That in turn would explain his rise in the ranks-he can't deviate from the agenda because they've got something on him. Consider: -His interest in trains allows him to travel far and wide without his wife and meet a lot of men along the way. -He's a reformed alcoholic. That doesn't mean anything in itself but in relation to other things on this list, it makes sense. -His slightly theatrical way of coming across, such as his habit of referring to himself in the third person and his akubra. -The way he described an aussie gun murder victim in the US a couple of years ago as a "beautiful young bloke", while also of course not missing an opportunity to attack the second amendment. It's another thing that's not much on its own but together with other thing is illuminating. It's as if the context in which he said it provided the chance to describe another male that way while being deniable as anything gay at the same time. I he'd been a Green pollie, it'd be okay, but he wasn't. Maybe there's more to it than just him being gay...
