In the Soviet case, far more distance to the center to capture, with the peripheral countries buffer. I'm glad you are not. Cool heads, my friend. It could possibly come to that, but not yet. Were Ukraine a NATO member, that might be different. NATO/US would definitely drive out and destroy the invading military, but advancing into Russia, that would depend on a myriad of factors. There IS such a thing as common sense, and there IS such a thing as MAD, both connotations. And MAD being ignored is not something you want to see, unless you have a death wish. Time to move these flights into Ukraine and show the real power of NATO. Heavily patrolling territory that has zero chance of being attacked might be good for morale but to Putin NATO is a paper tiger.
In order to establish a No Fly Zone over Ukraine the NATO must first lay waste to the enemy's anti-air defense systems (aka the S-400). That means heavy attack and bomb sorties by NATO assets against the Russian advancing military. And since anti-air systems may be outside Ukraine borders, like in Belarus or Russia, those NATO aircraft will need to cross borders and directly attack that soil. Only after that is successful, NATO can set up CAP sorties to enforce the No Fly Zone. What do you think the losses will be, and what will the Russian tactical changes be with that level of NATO involvement? When I studied this in the classroom, the conclusion was always moving Tactical Nuclear Weapons into the battlefield environment, and bringing the Ballistic Nuclear Missile fleet into a "launch ready" condition. And I won't tell you what those targets were, but suffice it to say it was not pretty for western Europe. We need to be cautious of escalation.
If the war in Ukraine turns in to a real genocide, with more starved cities and murdered citizens on a massive scale, then the West might very well feel obliged to step in. Couldn't be done without the US Air Force but with the combined air forces of Nato, Russia would not stand a chance in the air. Obviously, the risk of further escalation with nuclear weapons can't be ruled out but there is a pressure point where what we see on the ground could potentially make the risk worth it.
oftentimes things like navigation and radio frequencies will be displayed alongside the gauges in electronic screens like the ones in the aircraft which can be an OPSEC risk so easiest best to blur it all out

Thank you very much for this interesting video.
Well...You have an old 80s soviet era 14 meters 6 ton junkyard dog reconnaissance drone just travel at least 600 km trough "NATO" airspace and then slamming in Zagreb...that is unsettling to say the least...
First class, keep it up lads.
Well done lads.

Extra fast jets are the best!
Double plus fast…
"we've been working with the Americans, Italians, and Spanish" aren't there 6 German Eurofighters in Romania too?
Right now in Romania there are 8 USAF F16's V, 8 Italian Typhoons, 6 German Typhoons (22 in total) and there were also 2 USAF F35's on 24th of February, but I don't know if those jetfighters are still in Romania. The Spanish are in Bulgaria as far as I know, not far from Romania.
Russia really doesn’t want to face those Typhoons. It’ll be the last sortie those old, Soviet era planes fly.
You really have no clue about the abilities of the Russian armed forces and the technology they have. They are not using their best armaments in this little skirmish. if they had they would have flattened most of Ukraine in a week. Those Typhoons are old school and are not up to par with the current 5th Gen fighters Russia has. I would like to see a Typhoon have to deal with a S400 or S500. It would not stand a chance
@@jamier7073 You are brainwashed by the Russian propaganda. They don't have the numbers. On top of that Typhoons will wipe the floor with the russian jets and also the Rafale
@@jamier7073 yeah I noticed Russia is using old equipments and T72's even their armored vehicles. They're clearly not using the new tech and weapons even the tanks
@@jamier7073 they dont have enough of their top tier equipment to make a difference or to use it in a war because russia is poor. Those new shiny technologically advanced weapons are made as prototypes and barely even tested in real life scenarios also they cost too much for russia to produce on a large scale. And even if they did, an f35outclasses a su57 so the west would still win.
So please first do YOUR research and then talk.
Thanks for everything you do guys!
The skies have been very quiet over Ukraine for 2 weeks. The media never mentions this. The Russian tank columns have no air support as they are from time to time picked off by a single Drone. A huge contrast to Russia's air operations in Syria.
Syrian rebels didn't have a butt load of MANPADS.
Aviation is not really necesary at this stage and its very costly to operate just for pstroling and risking for ocasional loss. RF is mostly shelling and rocketing cities which they have plenty of stock and much cheaper
@@richardvernon317 Just wait till they have Stingers. Those things can quickly end a flight at MUCH higher altitudes and are WAY more accurate/effective. The Mujaheddin, when they were supplied weapons like that from our side of that proxy war, way back, completely shut down the Soviet daytime air operations.
The Soviet Union was a LOT more powerful than Russia, for the same reason NATO is more powerful than the US. In both cases, more people, more land, more resources, more weapons. In the Soviet case, far more distance to the center to capture, with the peripheral countries buffer. It went beyond that in the Soviet case, like better access to the ocean, through the Crimea, one aspect they have regained, and one reason owning western Ukraine was so important to them. Obviously that is just the tip of the iceberg.
@@MrJdsenior Stingers are no good for high altitude threats or targets flying at night and in bad weather. The Ukrainians need more Radar guided MSAM, Namely SA-6 / SA-8 / SA-10 /SA-11 as they know how to operate them. Some NATO countries still use those weapons, but not in great numbers.
OMG you really think that it will show up on flight radar if russia sends in military planes into ukraine? Sorry my friend that is not how it works.

Yes tell your service men and women, thank you NATO for continuing to attack Syria, Serbia, Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan for causing tens of millions of refugees and the deaths of millions more.

They could use Romanian bases at a pinch/in an emergency, but I suppose it makes more sense to operate out of Cyprus ie a proper RAF base where they have all the resources to repair, maintain and staff their planes.

The purpose of Regulatory Articles (RA) is to provide the framework of policy, rules, directives, standards, processes and the associated direction, advice and guidance, which governs military aviation activity and against which air safety is assessed. The regulator develops regulations in response to applicable UK law, MOD needs, legal changes and recommendations resulting from both assurance or investigation functions.
If I was one you guys I would fly right to Putin and give him something he wouldn't want.
That said, removing Putin is an excellent idea, MHO, but there are many far less destructive and less traceable ways that that can be accomplished.
Thanks RAF. From Cluj

Time to move these flights into Ukraine and show the real power of NATO. Heavily patrolling territory that has zero chance of being attacked might be good for morale but to Putin NATO is a paper tiger.
"to Putin NATO is a paper tiger"...somehow I doubt that.
@@jordan2104 keep doubting while Ukraine dies. NATO countries are cowards.
There they are, The F35 is a great machine
Already been forcefully pointed out by those who matter - NATO cannot and will not enforce a NFZ
04:02 Interesting that they would "Pixelate" the cockpit dials and gauges .
oftentimes things like navigation and radio frequencies will be displayed alongside the gauges in electronic screens like the ones in the aircraft which can be an OPSEC risk so easiest best to blur it all out
I have a horrible feeling, that the chronic underfunding of our armed forces, from successive governments could well come back to bite very soon. I have the utmost respect for our armed forces, they are among the best in the world. There are just too few of them. I think Putins war will ultimately change this, but will it be soon enough?
UK armed forces are actually about 5th in the world by spending , only the US ,and now Germany, ahead in Nato..

@@adilsidd8063 A Russian drone "clipped" Polish airspace for a few minutes. It was promptly shot down before it had the chance to leave. NATO's military technology and overall readiness and training is way superior to the Russian military. From air defence and ground troops to satellites and surveillance. Putin knows it and he's trying not to mess with them too much. NATO is an alliance, he's alone! That's why he's asking the Chinese for help. Yeah about those drones... Could someone at least inform countries unidentified drone is flying towards their airspace?
Someone with AWAX? not the UK then.
Not "sorties" not "sortie", the mission was reconnaissance patrol. NATO attacking from a defensive position would be a, sortie. You bang on about sortie, I was waiting for combat footage and data after you said "sortie", then realised you didn't understand the words coming out of your mouth. @ 3:00 you can see the guy, blank look you, then reconfigured the question to "policing" to de-escalate your question statement. NATO engaged military personnel deserve more respect, we can start with understanding their standards and level of precision, not throwing around inflammatory words then waxing lyrical about "the other side of these uncertain times." Russians watching this report of NATO running sorties from Poland, might rightly encourage their officials to launch in defense to NATO attacking into Russia from Poland per "sortie". Right now we, NATO, have allies in the Russian people who march and protest against this attack on the Ukraine, let's not alienate them with sloppiness.
Thank you NATO for being.
