I would think the brand went through a revamp, so the newer one should be "THE MARC JACOBS". Another way to tell is that the older version does not have the brand name embossed on the strap's zipper hardware (the flatter side) but the new ones does. I got mine in 2021 which reflects what i mentioned, and this video was done in 2019 so that could be it. And oh yes! Apparently, for the newer ones, the brand uses RIRI zippers. Kinda excited to scrutinise my bag now. haha #cheapthrill

I've never bought handbags from walmart before. But I bet their online store is like amazon. If it's shipped and sold by Walmart then I'd be okay, but if it's from a 3rd party seller I'm not so sure. Maybe contact the seller or check their profile, look for seller reviews. That's what I usually do in amazon if I want to buy authentic bag/shoes from 3rd parties. I even google their company sometimes.

My Snapshot looks exactly like this and ticks off almost all that you mentioned (including stitching, hardware measurements, etc) except the “MARC JACOBS” logo on the zippers are not on the sides but engraved on the face of the zippers facing out when closed. Also, there is no “NEW YORK” under the “MARC JACOBS” leather stamp in between the bag zippers

I have bags I have not touched for over 2 years and they're all in pristine condition. The snapshot is a solid bag, should last years in great condition so long as properly kept. :)

to be honest. If you produce at cost and remove the logo, the luxury market really isn't that expensive. The mark is about 80% of the actual price. But the fact that you are *hqluxy* buying an image and showing off your taste to make them think you are richer than you are is a very good thing to do

They do make it in the Philippines too. If it says Philippines, it is most likely authentic. Most fakes are usually the ones that says China or Vietnam... and note, the new versions has "THE MARC JACOBS" instead of just "Marc Jacobs".

Yes. Same color, materials, font and font size. Dustbag is true white and thick. When you try to open/close the black tie, you'll have to exert a lil effort I think because of it being thick.
Yes. They're made in China, Vietnam and Philippines. (not sure but prob indonesia as well). It's hard to spot counterfeit coz they copied almost everything, so unless you buy from authorized sellers/store then there's not much choice but to rely on the workmanship of the bag. My authentic snapshots are made from those 3 countries I mentioned and their quality, stitching, logo, feel, ~ everything is consistent.

I think the person at the store where you took your bag to be looked at obviously didn’t have a clue on the brand otherwise she would have known it was an older snapshot she was looking at and not the newer renamed one
My snapshots are from over a year ago. The ones with "THE MARC JACOB" are from their latest snapshot line. Their are few changes on their micro details but everything else are pretty much the same.

No weird smell on all 3 of them. Leather does not have a rubbery smell. The sequin version do not have a weird smell either.
