He would have failed because he would have thought like every other person who has become part of the system. He is able to analyse the markets better than people who have had a far better education than him.
Curtis's kind of service would be even more useful outside of prison, where he could be teaching kids before they end up in a place like San Quentin. That's the power of education.
Such an inspiration... This shows that, it's never too late... And like Nelson Mandela said, "education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world "
I just admire this brother and as I said before he is awesome. And the gift God gave was going to happen. We don't know our gifts untill we open up and meditate and educate ourselves. We need people in our lives especially young kids. God bless. Peace
He points out so clearly and eloquently the true reason most people are in prison. Money is a small part of the problem. The lack of self worth, goals, encouragement and role models are the reason most people end up in prison.
amazing man! I had the chance to meet him myself and holy cow he is wise. nearly all of the inmates at san quentin seem to have completely flipped their life around and become wiser and more ready for the world than anyone else, it really does give me hope that there may be a chance for the american criminal justice system..
I am so very proud of this young man for making the most out of his life. I sure hope he can get out soon and start enjoying the benefits from the money he has accumulated while he has been in there. Financial knowledge is very empowering!
that's reaaally cool! and the fact that someone who understands them and knows them, (someone who is also very smart and has goals), helps them feel very comfortable. they should also teach them other things like art and stuff they would like to learn.
Just Show genius comes In All Colors. They Always Say Don't Let Ur Situation Define U. Good Can Come From the Worst Situation. Always Hope. This Youngman Is A Light In a Dark Situation. If Anyone Deserves A Pardon ,He Does
People can change and become better there’s so many people that made mistakes when they were younger and have now changed I wish they could be let back into society
Because of listening/watching this gent's story EVERYDAY for the past 16 days, I FIRMLY BELIEVE THAT I AM GONNA BE A WEALTHY BILLIONAIRE 20 years from now. His story is such an inspiration for me,because of him, I've gathered courage to finally get over my laziness/fear and apply myself by starting to read one of the BEST BOOKS EVER WRITTEN ON FINANCIAL LITERACY,The one book that's regarded as THE BIBLE OF INVESTMENTS [SECURITY ANALYSIS]. If you've intently listened/watched his interview with DJ SWAY then you would understand what i'm talking about...the man is dropping germs like you won't believe and of all things he talks about, the one that really stuck out the most is where he says "The majority of people,BLACK PEOPLE mainly, tend to think that FINANCIAL LITERACY/KNOWLEDGE IS A SKILL SET,which is the one thing that makes us apprehensive in most cases, but it ain't so,if anything FINANCIAL LITERACY IS A LIFESTYLE"👍🏾🙌🏿 that to me was my lightbulb moment and it opened my eyes wide "FINANCIAL LITERACY IS A LIFESTYLE" He couldn't have set it better and now I am seeing what he meant by that. TRUE WEALTH/GENERATIONAL WEALTH DOES NOT COME OVER NIGHT, NOT IN 1/5 /10/ or 15 YEARS, IT COMES AFTER 20 YEARS OF DAILY STUDYING,HAVING A STRONG DISCIPLINE TO STUDY THAT BIG, DIFFICULT,CONFUSING AND BORING BOOK CALLED SECURITY ANALYSIS...NOT ONLY DO YOU READ ONCE BACK TO BACK BUT MORE THAN 20 TIMES. AGAIN,IT GOES TO PROVE THAT FOR ONE TO BE A MASTER INVESTOR,IT TAKES A MINIMUM OF 20 YEARS(7300 DAYS) OF READING THAT BOOK. OUTSIDE OF WARREN BUFFETT HIMSELF, EVERY BUSINESS PEOPLE WHO'VE READ THAT BOOK(MAINLY WHITE FOLK),RELIGIOUSLY SO, ARE DYNASTICALLY WEALTHY. IF YOU ARE BLACK AND WANT TO BE WEALTHY THEN THAT'S THE ONE BOOK YOU WANNA READ 20X OVER,IT IS A BOOK WHERE WHITE PEOPLE REALLY HIDE THEIR MONEY. I'M GONNA WARN YOU THOUGH,THE BOOK IS BORING AS A MOTHER,NO PICTURES,IT IS LONG,IT IS HEAVY ON THE BRAIN BUT ONE THING I WILL TELL YOU IS THAT,YOU INTENSIVELY STUDY THAT BOOK, GET OFF SOCIAL MEDIA,THE LIKES INSTA/FB/AND TWITTER AND YOU ALSO STOP WATCHING UNNECESSARY SHIT ON TV THEN WITHOUT DOUBT YOU WILL BE WEALTHY. THANK YOU TO WALL STREET FOR OPENING UP A DIFFERENT WORLD TO ME. BLACK CHILD YOU CAN DO IT,AS LONG AS YOU ARE WILLING TO PAY THE PRICE AND MAKE THIS A LIFESTYLE,UNDERSTAND THAT IT IS NOT AN OVERNIGHT TYPE OF AFFAIR. MUCH LOVE from a FIRM BELIEVER AND DISCIPLE TO CURTIS "WALL STREET" CARROL FROM SOUTH AFRICA 🇿🇦✌🏿
What an amazing man. Prison’s main focus should be reform and rehabilitation, and that’s exactly what he’s done - he’s turned his life around. He should no longer be in jail.
Such a disgrace that an American citizen was never taught to read. Where was the quality education he was constitutionally entitled to? We have to do better as a country.
The education in low income areas is good enough for children to learn. If i were to ask you what you mean by "better education" I have a feeling you wouldnt be able to give me specifics nor reasons as to why they would increase the quality of citizens they produce. Simply by pointing to our worst school it is far better than even the best schools in places like india and many African countries yet these foreign schools produce high quality, intelligent individuals. So by that we can see its not the quality of the education nor the structures/equipment its the general interest and culture that children grow up with here in the United States.
This young man is awesome but he had to get lock up for his gift to come out. I hope when he gets out of prison he continue to teach and help people to succeed
Because it’s the only prison in the Bay Area proper. So it’s getting all of the resources that’s surrounding it. All the other prisons are in the Central Valley where it’s nothing out there.
This man self corrected, that's what you call integrity. And he's reaching back to help others, these men that he teaches will never be crimminals again. If America was not so busy mis educating her "Negro's. Prison for us would not be a problem. I like him.
I hate the way we make hard to get a job after release and so many companies won't hire people with criminal records. All this does is reinforce the financial need to commit crimes again. And, to think, these companies free of ex-convicts wear this like a proud badge, it's a sad shame.
That need to keep people in that cycle of enslavement to line their pockets from their labor, The injustice system is an ingenious form of slavery because most people don't see it for what it really is.
San Quentin seems to have good programs that actually help with rehabilitation. Another one is the coding class. And one of the inmates even gets to run a podcast Ear Hustle.
earlier today I was making excuses for not having enough time and not a good computer to trade stock... then I stumbled on this video and thought 'I really don't have an excuse, this guy is doing it from prison buy some books and read, learn, and manage your money'
@@ChanceStearns , they said he was eligible for parole in 3 years. What part of parole don't you understand? Now, will he ever be a hedge fund manager? I don't think so with his felonies. But maybe he can run a business doing financial training/education.
Imagine if his greatness was nurtured as a child
just imagine !
He would have failed because he would have thought like every other person who has become part of the system. He is able to analyse the markets better than people who have had a far better education than him.
Those were my thoughts also !!! So sad, and he's not the only one !!!!
Exactly. He is a brilliant mind❤
It took the path it had to.
Curtis's kind of service would be even more useful outside of prison, where he could be teaching kids before they end up in a place like San Quentin. That's the power of education.

A movie needs to be made on him. I wish he could be released.
At age 50 before I leave this earth I must meet him just to simply say thank you for changing your life around. Absolutely phenomenon!
I want to meet him too.
He is amazing

Yup, most of us sitting here wishing we had more emotional and financial education at a younger age by our parents, grownups and our school system.
I honestly think that this video was the most interesting, captivating and empowering video I have ever seen on this channel
Bravo brother
Everyone has the potential to better themselves no matter where they are! It takes a strong will and perseverance! Not just prisoners.❤️
Wow good job
i was hoping to see some of the material he teaches
the cost of one grave sin is paid back by a lifetime of good deeds and self improvement.
I heard his story on a Podcast called Ear Hustle that is produced in San Quentin....
Hero.
This is critical to society
Great big story 👏👏👏👏👏
Peace my brother

Nick C But dude. Its not something that govermemt can do. These people didnt go to school. Its not like they went there and didnt learm
Get Gud it is. Governments around the world do this and it works
VoidX on the streets instead of school. Choices
Colt Koala lol, too bad there are no “choices”; unless you somehow become a “gangster” rapper.
Even I know that learning to read has nothing to do with your constitutinal rights! Im a from another country and you are some american kid
Love it 😍
Look at the potential all people have. He taught himself but imagine if everyone had access to better education before they turned to crime.

2:17 the dude is like "wtf am i doing here?"
Man, San Quentin has lots of cool rehab programs! This, Ear Hustle, and a bunch of others!

#Getthisguyoutofjail
He deserves much better than 54 years in jail.
It's sad
So did his victim
His story remind me of the Movie CATCH ME IF YOU CAN and I hope they will release him and allowed him to work out into society do a lot for people
Free Curtis!
Im curious where they get their money to manage and invest?
This is amazing
