It's amazing how many of the books I own...that aren't in mint condition. Good enough for me! I ain't picky and I hate spending more than $100 on any single book anyway.
Fun video! Uncanny X-Men 135 is also the 1st full appearance of Dark Phoenix and 1st cover appearance of Dark Phoenix. Uncanny X-Men 104 is also the 1st cameo appearance of the Starjammers and cover homage to X-Men 1.

Your videos using this format are fun and interesting James, and there's always a surprise for me ("It's worth THAT much?" or "It's ONLY worth that much?"). One niggle, The Killing Joke first print is the $100 comic, subsequent prints are worth less except the very scarce 9th print, at about $250.
I've got a few of that one, it's my favorite Doctor Strange era, all those Frank Brunner covers are amazing. Back when I got my first copy I think I paid $25 for it (before the MCU 😅).

I have a really good condition ASM 36 but not sure it's 9.8 but it was way less than 100. Astonishing Tales 6 i have a low grade but was so cheap and im not that fussed on mint.
If I remember right there is some contention over the 1st Patch being in Marvel Comics Presents instead of Wolverine's ongoing. I paid *way* more for Wolverine #1 (ongoing) than I did for any Marvel Comics Presents issue.
When you say near mint, do you mean 9.0 or more like a 9.8? Because I have DC superstars 17 in a 9.2 raw for $35 and vengeance of bane in a 9.0 for $80

When I'm flipping through Savage She-Hulk #1 to grade it I find a lot of staple problems & cover grime that stands out because of its predominantly white cover. I would never pay more than $100 for a great copy, & it would have to be so immaculate that it takes your breath away to look at it. The cover shine, no creases, powerful ink smell inside, etc. It's pretty rare to see one that nice. On average the Savage She-Hulk #1s I grade fall between 5.0 to 8.0 range, occasionally 8.5 to 9.0, I never personally graded one higher than that.
I know it was high for a while but I’m waiting for $50 to buy my She Hulk 1. I don’t think it’s hit bottom. I bought my first copy at cover price so $50 seems a lot to me. 😂
@@charlesversfeltif you're just looking for decent copies $50 will get you a 6.0-7.0 raw book that will scratch the itch just fine. I don't know why people obsess over high-grade slabs when they're over-priced.

I'm genuinely surprised that the Demon in a Bottle issue of Iron Man is only worth $100. It's such a pivotal story.

If the movie or TV show is good... value is somewhat upheld, otherwise they fall. Be cautious when buying at high prices.

Doctor Strange #1 (1970's). I paid $100 for one about a year ago.

I only have 2 of these. Daredevil #111 and TMNT #51. Daredevil #111 is probably only an 8.5 because a spot on the back. Cover is flawless though.
