I think they can't because there are usually complications with land ownership , also demolition is expensive. But hey,it gives material for great videos like this ^-^
This particular mall is in a very bad area. Very few local businesses stay open here. The only ones in this area that I think are still open today is a gas station and a Taco Bell
I live in Sheboygan, WI....about 50 mins from this mall....use to go there all of the time, when i got into my early adult years. Was a very packed mall, back in the day. If you're wondering what killed this mall, it was the crime around it....this is one of a dozen areas that have become very dangerous in the Milwaukee area. I can't believe you are still alive after it. Seriously! Because if you ran into a gang in there...they would of, at minimum, stole your camera equipment and everything else on you. But a lot of times they still would shoot you....even if you didn't resist. Consider yourself lucky. Love your videos!
Dave Johnson Wow really? I Live a few miles from the this mall for 23 years. I think you have this city and mall mixed up with some another . The mall closed like Josh said because of declining sales. Do your research before you say ignorant things about a place where you don't even live. I went to this mall from the time it opened until it closed. It had one bad in incident happen and that was a man the killed his wife and blamed it on getting robbed. I think Bob and Brian from Lazer 103 Fm hit the nail on the head with their skit about Sheboygan. Good day.
3 or 4 years ago that mall did not look like that. If you look at the vids of air softers go ing in there and that place was almost spot less. I guess now that Casey went through there all the idiots see it and go in there and trash the place
I hope he doesnt because its always fake. And I dont think its entertaining. But if you do like it you should check out other chanels, i believe there are some people who do that
The sad part about old malls like this one is that they could be converted into so many different things in stead of just being abandoned!! Imagine turning this mall into a new alternative High School or Community College!! Would be pretty cool right!
Kay 32 see the only reason why this mall closed was being crime in the area is hell. I can’t see this mall becoming anything due to this area in Milwaukee
Yessss ive bugged you to explore northrige mall because it was literally like 800 yards from my childhood house. I was born a month before i was born in march of 2003. So all my life ive seen that place abandoned but my brothers and sisters are older than me would run around in there when they were kids.
Dude you should totally get a Lume Cube for lighting up dark places! They get so bright and its tiny too! Just for when you don't want to carry around heavy gear :P
no Kyle not a drug house, there are refugees all over and if they want to start again then put them here and to work ==== there are more hookers houses then ever now why make more
Can’t believe you were in Milwaukee!! This mall use to be the mall that my family and I would go to every Sunday! It’s crazy to see how it looks like again!
You should come back to the UK in Durham someone discovered cold War bunkers and they have everthing in them and there is an old abandoned collage nearby in perterlee which Is untouched you should go to Edinburgh the catacombs there are amazing
These abandoned places you go to are fascinating. In Australia, a lot of our abandoned buildings are connected with no longer profitable minesites or dying farming areas. You can just about guarantee there will always be at least one boozer (hotel) . Theyre usually in remote areas of Australia, like the outback. Get there by going down dust tracks in desert type areas. We dont have abandoned malls. I reckon our local govt (shires) would be fairly tough on such a thing and would expect it to be knocked down and cleared if was degrading and was an eye sore. Keep up the good work. Be safe.

Definitively a mix of nostalgia and sadness. Hard to explain. I grew up shopping in this mall and going to the movies. Great place to be a teen in the 80’s. Loved seeing this as i have not lived in the area for 17 years.
I love how excited you get when you’re in an abandoned place, and I absolutely love how you teach us about the history of each place too. It’s fascinating

Being near the Milwaukee area and always going to Southridge mall..this video really shook me. I never knew that there was a Northridge mall until I saw this video..wow. Definitely gotta go here!
Josh I know a place where you can go and explore, It’s a place in Minnesota called Pearson 6th grade center, the place just became abandoned and will be great for exploring👍
Yay! You made it to Wisconsin! My family used to go there as kids when we would visit relatives in the area. It has definitely changed very eerie!! Be careful that area is not the safest! I live about 2 hrs away, I wear my exploring with Josh shirt a lot!
I spent a good portion of the 80s and 90s in this mall. Seen many movies in that theater, bought my clothes for my freshman year there, among other things. Got my ear pierced there in the early 90s as well lol. Its "sister" mall is not on the other side of the state, but about 45 min away called Southridge, and it is still open (go there at least once a month). If I recall correctly, the downfall of this mall started with the Jesse Andersen murder at the TGI Fridays across the street. In its final years, most major retailers moved out, and local black owned places moved in, but those were few and far between. It also turned into a mall walkers spot for the elderly. Anyway, I would LOVE to take a small tour thru this place sometime!
At 4:02 i think that that is the menards next to northrige. They knocked bpart of the builting off to build that menards and the pick n save that is now closed
You finally came to Wisconsin. This was a nice mall. I went there a few times and it's crazy watching this and seeing the mall abandoned. There are some cool abandoned places in Wisconsin. Welcome to my state!
This place looks so sick! Wish we could see further into the darkness but only so much you can do. Plus it was probably not worth it anyways. Your safety is always more important. Thanks for sharing!
LOL I was just thinking I feel like Dan Bell was there once, and then you mentioned him and his deadmall series. LOL those are good. I really enjoy his other series too, the ADR, another dirty room, where him and his friends pick apart cheap motels and find bugs, blood and other fluid stains, crack pipes and even a few bongs, they stay at some nice places LOL, Dan Bell and his abandoned mall series is how I found him though. I keep asking him to go to the one mall in Pittsburgh that is mostly office spaces now but it used to be a booming north side all back when I was a kid.
There’s this mall near me, King of Prussia Mall, and it’s the 2nd biggest mall in America. It will never close down, but if it did that would be INSANE and you could spend days exploring it.
Waverly Hills? 😃😄😂 It's a REAL Place??. I'm asking that Because that's where The Simpsons, (Tv Show). Kind of moved so Lisa and Bart could attend the School there. In one Episode.
Oh my gosh, I've had a dream once before set in a mall just like this! It was a zombie outbreak dream, too. This is so surreal, I've never seen this place before, and that intro at 2:05 is so familiar!
We lost sears, JCPENNYS, and now BonTons. We have a few stores left in our mall . Allot of the big names left. Burlington Coat factory , American Eagle, Victoria secrets, Bath and body and a few jewelry stores are still there. There’s more but it’s going towards consignment shops and antiques.
Cool video Josh but super creepy too. I remember caseys video. My friend who lives around this area knows of this mall, I think it was quite popular back in the day.
This was Northridge Mall. Had great times here growing up. As of 4-11-19 the mall's owner has to demolish it by order of city. They have 20 days from today to tear it down. Deemed really unsafe. Crumbling walls and the roof is so it could cave in.
Damn! I was a child when I went to this mall. My family used to go there all the time. Btw a section of the elevator was a watch shop. The mall also had a daycare I used to play in. Lol. It indeed was a very booming mall for many years. I'll never forget my mom would take me to the last food court store in the mall when it was being completely shut down. It was a Cajun chicken eatery. But, yes those fountains you saw had hundreds of dollars worth of coins in it's Hay day given to charity. Insane seeing it like this state. Great video Josh!
I love abandoned malls because most of the ones I've seen in videos and photos appear to be in really good shape and you get a good glimpse into how things were in the past. Also, maybe you know this already but Piercing Pagodas are still around today at malls throughout the US. A Piercing Pagoda is a mall stand that sells jewelry and is a place where you can get your ears pierced.
Iv'e been watching you for 3 years and all your videos are amazing. You and your exploring crew are actually on of the few real exploration youtubers. Keep up the good work!!
This mall is absolutely massive, a few friends and I have stayed overnight in this mall on a few separate occasions and we still haven't explored all of it. We did come across some pretty amazing things though. We found the original blueprints to the mall, safes in back stockrooms behind stores, we found this creepy crawl space that goes under parts of the mall and my friend is also the one that burned the grocery cart in there lol
There's a mall near me with only like two stores left in it. It's actually really peaceful to walk around in there and just imagine what it was like in its prime years.
Dude when I went to this mall in December, on the way out I jumped off the loading dock in the back and landed on a industrial screw and that shit went allllllll the way through my foot and out of the top of my vans. Best Christmas gift ever 🙂🎉
My local mall (Located in monroe) is dying.., they closed down sears , the bouncy houses (Many people enjoyed it there) it's so quiet the area where swears once was u can barely hear anyone. The store that used to be sears is gonna now be spirit Halloween :D Oh they also closed down Jc Penny is now gonna be "Roses" I'm excited for the new stores coming up
I live like 10 mins away from this mall and went here as a kid and I’m only 23! You should go to it’s sister mall and explore to see what it would’ve been like as an active mall! It’s sister mall looks the exact same
Awesome you where in Wisconsin I live in Wisconsin you should come farther up north there are cool abandon places as far back from the 1800’s to the 1900’s
I went there with some friends a few months ago, I live like an hour away from there. The place is huge, you could easily get lost in it. And the back parking lot is gigantic
Woah you came to Wisconsin, sadly I live 3 hours from there..but you should try and explore more here because there’s a ton of abandoned places scattered throughout this state
It would have been interesting if you touched on WHY there are so many abandoned shopping malls in America, and how they all started going under around the same time.
Had the pleasure in June to play an airsoft game there, was absolutely chaotic. The paramedics got called at the end due to an on site injury, that slippery tiled floor ain't nothing to mess with.
Josh! I have an amazing idea! Go back to Clinton Road - ALONE! Then run though clinton road with a gopro mounted on youre chest. That would be legendary
It seems to have an eerie peacefulness to it. the ceiling with the sky lights are wonderful to look at. s ones This is really cool and I liked this one.

I don’t know why people don’t take abandoned malls and turn them into apartments. Make little towns out of them.
Kinda like from a game
I think they can't because there are usually complications with land ownership , also demolition is expensive. But hey,it gives material for great videos like this ^-^
$$$$$ that's why you know how much roof and foundation repair would have to be required? Yaa
Bc its costs money and raises taxes

Iv'e been watching you for 3 years and all your videos are amazing. You and your exploring crew are actually on of the few real exploration youtubers. Keep up the good work!!
This mall is absolutely massive, a few friends and I have stayed overnight in this mall on a few separate occasions and we still haven't explored all of it. We did come across some pretty amazing things though. We found the original blueprints to the mall, safes in back stockrooms behind stores, we found this creepy crawl space that goes under parts of the mall and my friend is also the one that burned the grocery cart in there lol
I saw Dumb and Dumber in that theatre at Norhridge Mall with my friend Jed when I was young!!! Awesome footage Josh
There's a mall near me with only like two stores left in it. It's actually really peaceful to walk around in there and just imagine what it was like in its prime years.
Hi Josh! I discovered your videos a couple months ago and wanted to say thanks for posting all this cool stuff. I love going exploring with you!
This was super rad! Also I hate when I forget the camera light!!
2:57 on the glass :D
2:54 very Nice
This looks similar to the last of us: left behind dlc where ellie is looking through the mall during the winter. Dope vid
The store that used to be sears is gonna now be spirit Halloween :D
Oh they also closed down Jc Penny is now gonna be "Roses" I'm excited for the new stores coming up
I live like 10 mins away from this mall and went here as a kid and I’m only 23! You should go to it’s sister mall and explore to see what it would’ve been like as an active mall! It’s sister mall looks the exact same
Ayy my city! Awesome video. My mom tells me about how it was when this mall was open all the time and I've passed it abandoned so many times
Awesome you where in Wisconsin I live in Wisconsin you should come farther up north there are cool abandon places as far back from the 1800’s to the 1900’s
Just came back from exploring in there. Definitely an eerie feeling, especially at night
I went there with some friends a few months ago, I live like an hour away from there. The place is huge, you could easily get lost in it. And the back parking lot is gigantic
2 :57 look in the back in that glass wall
Woah you came to Wisconsin, sadly I live 3 hours from there..but you should try and explore more here because there’s a ton of abandoned places scattered throughout this state
Jamestown mall in Florissant Missouri is so creepy! There’s weeds growing through the floor, check it out!
7:12
DAMN You could film a Zombie movie there 😮
Kinda reminds me of the mall in The Last Of Us, Left Behind DLC! Looks amazing.
I love this, I would definitely want to see the room with the projectors from the movies.
2:55 RUclips do your thing
They need to re-open that place it looks so Nice with that Christmas stuff
It seems to have an eerie peacefulness to it. the ceiling with the sky lights are wonderful to look at. s ones This is really cool and I liked this one.
im from kenosha which is not far from this mall. i remember hangin out here as a teen. it was amazing in its hey day. keep it up. love the vids🖒🖒🖒
This makes me so sad. Such a beautiful Mall. I miss the '90's so bad. Also, in the parking lot, I want to mow or weed wack all the cracks.
