I love that my church offers communion to members of our church and puts on the big screen the invitation that says “You do not have to be a member of our church to take communion.” I gotta tell you, I love this story. I’m going to share it with my church family. I am so very grateful God has endowed us with the ability to laugh at ourselves. God bless you.

I don't know how many other people do Communion but as for me and my Girlfriend, we do Communion every Sunday because we want to be closer to the Lord every Sunday and we feel like it helps us to do that. I don't think there's a set time or a written law that says we have to do Communion just on the Sabbath, if anyone feels like they want to do Communion they can do it. We feel like the Holy Spirit is coming on us every time we do Communion. God Bless Everyone..

I have been a Christian for about 14 years and I go to a Baptist church where communion is given monthly it is a great time to remember what it stands for and that Jesus is coming back for us however people should understand the comedian is sacred to those that believe in Jesus Christ and his sacrifice it should not be taken lightly God-bless everyone throughout Thursday

Just wondering why you would give communion to a couple if they are obviously living in sin and not following Christ?

  • @tima.kinsey4350

Where in the Bible does it say you have to ask or talk to a pastor before taking communion? This seems like a man made religious practice, and not what Jesus intended at the Last Supper, or what first century Christians were doing when they took communion, remember Jesus's broken body, represented by the bread, and his blood that he shed to forgive our sins, represented by the wine. Jesus said that as after as we do this, we remember his death while waiting for his return.

If I may Tim, every denomination has their own way of doing things. Every denomination on earth is legalistic to some degree. Pastor Mike is a Lutheran clergyman. This is the way it’s done. I believe within his church he is just making sure the new people understand what communion is & why we take it. He doesn’t know the condition of their spirit & is trying to keep them from bringing a curse upon themselves. Remember that religion is man made, a relationship is God ordained.

The reason why he says talk to a pastor, is because you don't want someone who does not know Christ or does not fully understand communion to take it.

It is probably not a good idea to do wine because a lot of people may not be able to do it, even if it is a thimble full amount....like you said, pregnant women, ex-alcoholics, etc. Most churches that I have gone to, do grape juice.

    • @lorraineanderson6333

That's exactly right. Have to be very careful, you could make a person stumble back into sin, if they are ex alcoholics especially or hurt the baby.

Why not just believe in The Real Presence in The Holy Eucharist? Transubstantiation..Teaching of the Twelve Apostles, or Didache, 9:5). The Real Presence was taught by the twelve apostles.
“Let no one eat and drink of your Eucharist but those baptized in the name of the Lord; to this, too the saying of the Lord is applicable:

Though it was embarrassing, there have been times when I have let communion go by because perhaps I was still mad about something or some other issue I hadn’t let go of. I would rather be gossiped about than to bring a curse upon myself. I know within my denomination the pastor announces communion & gives people time to sincerely repent, pray or worship beforehand.

    Tongues and Interpreting
" If , Jesus returned , the world would melt.
So.... when Jesus said " take this in remembrance of me , until I come again "
    He was lying.
He cannot return physically because He is glorified now "
    " Now read 2 Thessalonians 2 11-12 very slowly.
    And understand this !

So.... the only communion that is satisfactory is communion with the spirit "

when I was young we had to announce to the Pastor before we took communion. We had to call him. Now Pastor's don't do that. Now Pastors don't even care if you can hear a sermon or not. I can't hear and quit going to church. My Pastor doesn't even care.

sanctification of bread and wine as the body and blood of Christ./ the end of the covenant of a eye for a eye exacting punishment to the covenant of forgiveness /Jesus was the sacrificial lamb of God / All heaven and earth above and below rejoiced./ Below being the animals because they knew they were no longer to be sacrificed.

What denomination are you? Why do you hide behind a name that doesn't say who you are? You sound like you could be Lutheran but then you don't. You never mention that in Holy Communion you receive the true Body and Blood of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins.
